Rather than fear, I like to think of it as situational awareness. My Dad was a Chicago cop and knowing self defense skills is another way to say Confidence❤

Wow!! I just stumbled upon this and it was honestly really fun to watch! I learned exactly what I was wanted to! I love watercolor but am seriously not good at it yet. Wayyy out of practice. And I have been so curious about gouache, which I have never used. So thank you so very much for this!! Your painting turned out so cool!! Very pretty! I couldn’t wait for you to pull the tape off at the end 😂 And I have learned that I have to trust the process, keep it simple at the beginning and be patient… let the layers work together and not expect it to all come together on the first, the second, or the third pass of color or my brush. It has to build up to the finished result 😊

I like what you said at the very end about gaining the knowledge. With every artist / UA-camr I find a little nugget of knowledge that I never knew before. It's like a treasure hunt LOL. I'm waiting for the day that I don't need to have a reference but it all comes from my imagination. Thank you for this painting it was absolutely gorgeous

Firstly, AWESOME videos. You've gotten so much better with your pet drone. It does look like a little pet sitting there on the log. Does it have a name? Just curious, as I would have named it. Anyway...Love the painting. Also, I love the long videos. I could sit and watch you paint and listen to you talk all day. Your like the friend I've never meet but have soooo much in common with. Hope your back feelings good today.

Loved this video Sarah!! You are such a great teacher and me being way on the other side if the globe, it's always nice to see your countryside. Love the drone angles 👍. I have a question: when ur waiting for stuff to dry, and not with drone or distractions, what do you think about? Do you analyse the painting or...? I find that's my dangerous time because it's when I 'stop' and as such tend to over criticise my progress. Hope that made sense 😅. Much love from Australia ❤

Aww thank you!! Always start with the background, so take a while to observe the photo, see what color(s) are in the distance, and lay down a base of that color. Then slowly start transitioning to more colors and more defined shapes as it gets closer to the foreground.

In my youth, a police officer fell behind his mortgage in a nearby village and took to crime to 'solve' his problem. On a parking lot in the woods where friends and I played fairly often because of a creek, lake, a restaurant, and a "Trim Dich" (for "Do Sports"/"Keep Fit") path with funny challenges like balance beams and such along a designated path nearby -- on this parking lot which serviced this recreation area, the police officer had stashed his own car to switch with the stolen car ('cause it was on the edge of two police districts which, back then, gave him cover due to gaps in the communication -- got fixed because of him), he was witnessed, naturally -- doh popular recreation spot -- and killed those witnesses brutally. It was talk of my village for years, but I never feared this place. "Why?" you may ask.
My experience told me that this was an outlier. I had played there for many years and met many kind and friendly people and did so afterwards.
It doesn't mean you get careless. You make sure to wear a bright artificial color, so that hunters don't mistake you for a deer. You keep your dog on a leash, so hunters don't shoot your dog, and you might give him something bright to wear, too, so s/he is not mistaken for some wild game.
I don't have my keys weaponized as punch and stab weapon in my fist, I don't carry pepper spray or kitchen knives in handbags. Again my experience. But then, I don't live in the US. A glance at the crime stats in my area tells me, I don't have to, despite the worries of my friends who insist on accompanying me to the front door late at night. It took a while to convince them, that it is perfectly safe and would be a highly unusual event if I would get hurt.
So instead of dealing with fear, you might consider a bright orange scarf, hat or vest in the woods, just in case. And I assume that rapists, murderous robbers and zombies and werewolves are unheard of or exceptional rare. So not useful to dread them, it only spoils your quality of life.
    My2Cents :)
