Today we are back with another fall walleye fishing video! On this video we are fishing the Mississippi River for some fall walleyes on Pool 4. Fall fishing on river can be amazing and in this video I talk about what makes Fall River bites so good and how we are catching these fish. Cody and I use a variety of casting and jigging lures to get bites from a bunch of saucers and walleyes. Thanks for watching!

I can’t believe how crystal clear your voice is in that wind. Keep it up thanks Tom
Great video Tom. I caught a couple of nice walleye and sauger on Pool 5A today, thanks for adding some river content!
Was just at my nearby pool 18 and struggled. You explaining how to present the bait to stand out among the mass of baitfish is definitely something I wouldn’t have put together yet. So thanks, Tom and you’re still the best. Now I’m super excited to get back out there in a couple days to try again with your technique and logic.
Great job on your videos. Great information on how / what your are doing.
Definitely the best fishing videos to watch. Thanks Tom.
Another great video! Loved the opening and drone shots! 2 great fisherman and Surly!
Well as simple as that, good work 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Shorthead redhorse! They're definitely fun to chase in the spring spawning run.
Love the videos, waiting on more. Can't wait for the ice season to come back around.
Love your videos...awesome information!
Crazy good quality video for the conditions. You are on a roll Tom! I can’t wait to see some good ice content soon.
not often a boatmate beats the Boley, nice job!
Weird....we literally just decided last night to go there this weekend...how convenient. Great vid thanks dude!
Something about those Mississippi walleye and sauger, nice video
I'm jelly!!! Those fish look so unbelievably healthy... That's a very good fishery and well taken care of...
Great to see you brought your fishing buddy. I have seen monster walleye out of the Potomac river east coast.
Fun one to watch Never really did rivers Cool info
Thank you for coming into my neck of the woods. Sort of. Im in the cities.
But my buddy that i call the walleye whisperer, just took me down there. At the dam there. Sweet fishing. Rippin raps or just a dark colored jig head and a fattie. Thanks for the video and info. Always appreciated.
Great video, great information awesome video
I think I’m gonna make it my goal to meet this man and learn some things from him so knowledgeable
Looks like a Silver Redhorse! Nice video!!
Good spot your in one of my favorites can’t beat Pool 4 some days you gotta be a tough son of a gun it gets nippy some days this time of year up there. Great vid !
Best mic work in inclement weather. Strong work boley. Nice boat dog!
Love the drone shots
Great vid, thanks! All this stuff works over here in WA!
Shorthead redhorse
Love the river video, do more river footage!
I was there, same spot last weekend and people were hunting too. Also the was a tournament for walleyes happening. Like 100 boats close to the dam
It's very nice video 👍
Great video
Get him Cody!!!
Listened to the Smackdown Podcast today and Acme mentioned you had the Hyper Hammer down in the river. Enjoyed the video.
Yet to hit my 1st Walter. Too many smallies. lol You make me want to get out today!
Thanks Tom. Great content. Really appreciate the River video, especially pool 4. Only difference is that we fish on the southern half. Maybe I can convince my old man to hit up the north half a time or two. Definitely would like to try a few different spots. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to the next one!!!
How’s the bite during the spring down on lower and of 4? Good amount of fish stay down?
@@Filling_tags I honestly couldn’t tell you. I only get to fish pools 4 and 5 in October during the father / son annual fishing trip. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
Perfect eaters
Another great video Tom, and the glow is gone. Good job.
You catch a lot of fish and that makes many of us jealous. Especially me today. Took my Lawrence triple shot out on the water for the first time and engaged side scan, it said “stopped”. I could not find a way to rid that from the screen so I anchored and called CS. Had a 1/2 hr speaking to a rep (could hardly understand her...say that again please). She told me how to remove the word. It worked. I rebooted it up again and bang, it’s baaack. I can’t use my side scan, dammit! I’m sick of fishing blind. WTH. Called the CS back and got a guy who knows what to do, and I have to email the kind dude a day before I fish again, within the time span and he will hook me up he says. Wish me luck please, the walleye and crappie are waiting for me somewhere.
Well real nice just when your going to tell us what bait you switched you change the subject?
Tom noticed you have been using your carbon x reels what happened with the new reels you were trying
Hi, Nice video, enjoyed watching your catch.. I usually fish from shore at the mouth of dam and dont catch any walleye… I use jog head with adapter plastic lures hooked on it.. mostly use white , green colored swim lures.. can you suggest what could be wrong and how i can catch walleye in that high water current
Im 30 mins from there. Fished couple times a few weeks ago. Unfortunately on quarantine right now or I’d be there now
Loved the river content, especially this time of year on Mississippi, keep it coming! One question...were you guys working those jigs in the front sides of the wingdams or actually up on top of the rocks
Launching boat footage like a pro!!
Tom can you show or break down what a wing dam is? Thanks
Now when your doing the quick pull up jerks are you keeping the line tight on the fall or slacked? Curious to try this out for saugeye this weekend
Another great video. Purchased a Carbon X on your recommendation, love it. Great reel for a reasonable price. How about a side imaging for dummies video.
He did a great side-imaging tutorial a couple weeks ago. Christopher was even satisfied.
Great video. Do you use a barrel swivel with snap to connect your lure or is it best to direct tie. Thanks
I live on the rum river flowing from mille lacs, should I fish with the same technique?
Surrley is like my labs ,they just prefer not to be wet and cold
Nasty day I see. Tom have you ever fished for or caught Saugeyes? I love to fish Ohio river for Saugers but occasionally catch Saugeye
Yup he caught them in the video
Are Sauger and saugeye as good to eat as walleye
Can the jerk minnow Jr be used ice fishing?
Tom, can you put in your description the clothing you wearing. I know it is Simms but what is your jacket you have on.
So I fish the Columbia river in Washington state… usually are fish are 30+ feet deep, what do you recommend for 30+, 50+ feet to get down to them?
Dont fish walleye over 30 feet deep if you dont keep it
Did I hear you say your picking up a new boat Tom????
So u are throwing right on top of the wing dams? Or front or back of them
Looks to be before them the first shot when they transitioned the drone you can see the current building before going over the dam
What line and lb test do you use for blade baits?
I use 6lb nano with a 6lb leader . Been up there for 6 weeks on this Bite .
Small mouth bass
Do you like catching saugeye,Tom?
Any thoughts on joining the h2h walleye tour next year? I can be your sponsor i have 10's of dollars ;)
Also asking for a friend but any chance you are going to throw up some merch that says "this is going so well for you Kristopher"?
I think it’s a red horse sucker.
Just have a question on the vrod. As I’m sure u know throwing blade baits that they tend to foul up a lot. Does the vrod foul up as much as your typical blade bait?
That's a Redhorse.
Did Tom get out fished? Lol
Lol, you have a glow around your head.
Looks like a red horse sucker. I believe the scientific name is catius fisheus baitus (catfish bait).
Embrace the suck,,,,
don't put your finger in the gills of the fish! That can cause serious damage in the fish health! Respect nature! Fish is not a machine, it is a creature with feelings and intelligence, just like other animals! Treat them well please!
people are afraid to eat those river fish for some reason. Thing is they are cleaner than some lake fish.....
You might want to promote safe boating , life jackets and kill switch.
