Neither the Egyptian nor the Assyrian sources provided clear regional boundaries for the term.
The first clear use of the term Palestine to refer to the entire area between Phoenicia and Egypt was in 5th century BCE Ancient Greece, when Herodotus wrote of a "district of Syria, called Palaistinê" (Ancient Greek: Συρίη ἡ Παλαιστίνη καλεομένη) in The Histories, which included the Judean mountains and the Jordan Rift Valley. Approximately a century later, Aristotle used a similar definition for the region in Meteorology, in which he included the Dead Sea. Even nowadays Israel is a nice place to visit for tourists and you don't feel like u are in a completely new world. Hundreds of thousands of Jews from those countries were forced to flee those countries when the State of Israel was created. Those who deny the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish State in some tiny slice of the Middle East, but accept the deaths and refugees created by the Partition of India to create the Muslim State of Pakistan, are being very selective in their outrage
