I love a pianist that's so good to not only play well, but well enough to catch up to and cover the mistakes of the performer. The singer had semi-serious rhythmic issues and the pianist covered them and played beautifully. 👌💙🎼🎶

Its a cover so I don't necessarily think of rhythmic l difference as an issue in any way. Some people prefer to perform songs in very slightly different rhythms to make their own take on a piece and I think that is okay.

The pianist is my son. I never commented before on this forum because I do not want to embarrass him. He, the pianist, my son, will be singing in the opening song of The Tony's this year. He won't be seen as it is Covid and he literally sang in my walk-in closet which apparently has the best acoustics in the house. He recorded the audio using his iPhone. He had meant for it to be a practice learning session, but he couldn't find a studio given the circumstances. He sent it in as a holding place as he was given a dead;ome. and he vowed to find better, yet still safe, circumstances within a few hours. The Tony's accepted this raw recording from a closet on an iPhone as one of the 10 people singing the opening song for The Tony's recorded in 2021, during the pandemic. We all must make due.
