I was there last weekend (27th - 29th August 2022) for 3 evenings, no evening is the same. When the Last Post behind it is always very moving. The number of Belgium families with young children is astounding, they don't forget. #wewillrememberthem.

One of the most moving experiences of all my visits to Europe. Truly Lest We Forget, because the people of Ypres never will.

It is awe0inspiring that the names which adorn this memorial represent those whose remains were never identified or found. William Hugo Morris, a Captain with 2 PPCLI, was a lateral kinsman on my Mother's side. Both my Father and brother also served with 2 PPCLI, my Father also having served in Charlie Company. It humbles me to think I have any connection to a Military Cross recipient, since I also served (I was an MSE Op).
