This makes me think that sightreading the same song you're hearing for the first time must be an awesome way to experience a first impression. It really forces you to think of the underlying and consequently easy to miss rhythms and riffs while primarily hearing the vocals. You can see what'll happen next before it actually happens. I play guitar and love learning their songs, but I can't sightread a new track by them for the life of me.

Not tapping actually. Syn is classically trained. His sweeping is what allows him to sound like tapping.

eBay is a great place for guitars nowadays. Thrift stores have a lot of guitar controllers for cheap as well.
