I remember when I first got Wilbur. I found him in the sea, so I instantly went and murdered some monkeys. After that I rushed back at Wilbur, almost dead with 0 sanity and after giving him the crown I died soon after.
They’re not even apes! They have tails! Then again, if Klei is willing to risk Nintendo’s wrath for the sake of this pun, they’re not going to be dissuaded by Linnaeus.
@@yagiznebioglu1852 Not having tails is a defining characteristic of our clade. You literally use the absence of a tail as a method of telling the difference between monkeys and apes.
@@walmartiancheese4922 Yep. Start the game in SW, prototype the ape hut (dont place it!) and put it down after youve ported to RoG/Hamlet. Make sure you bring a few tropical tree cones from SW, or you will have issues finding bananas in RoG/Hamlet (you can buy bananas in Hamlet stores, but its a hit or miss whether the bitch there will be selling them at the time - SW trees drop them fairly reliably). Alternatively, in RoG, you can always spelunk to the ruins and find bananas there... if you like dealing with splumonkeys in pitch black darkness. Word of warning though - do NOT put the ape huts in the ruins. The apes will turn into shadow apes during the nightmare phase and will become hostile to you, even if you play Wilbur.
Well, the thing about prime apes' beard may be related to spulmonkeys that are rude in all ways, but the prime apes are almost the same but have manners like my monkey mom used to say don't go into strangers chests that's just plain rude.
Regardless of whether youre playing Wilbur or not, do NOT put your base anywhere near prime apes (or vice versa). They will pick every bush/plant they see, including whatever you plant on your farms (regardless of whether youre playing WIlbur). They may toss some of the stuff back your way when playing Wilbur, but the problem is - theyre destroying the timing of things growing. If you want twigs or grass, and find all of your saplings/tufts picked, you will be fairly annoyed. Whats worse, dont make the same mistake i did in Hamlet - ive started in SW with Wilbur and ported a number of ape huts to Hamlet (disregard the nightmare that was dealing with the Aporkalypse on arrival...). The first thing the apes did after ive "settled in", was starting to pick all of my replanted and blooming nettles. RIP during hay fever season. Then one of the bastards took my SW gas mask (forgot the name). RIP venturing to the Herald Island without it (the entrance was on the opposite side of the gas biome). Apes started plundering my farms, until ive noticed what was going on (and stopped scratching my head over "how come theres no crops, when ive just planetd 10 seeds??") In the end, ive had to hammer all the huts down and reposition them where they wouldnt be within reach of my base - right at the edge of a fairly large clump of snaptooths. I merely walked over there from time to time to pick up bananas and (literally) shit. They can be useful in Hamlet, if you keep them far away from your base, where you can lead the rabid beetles to when necessary, but nothing else. In SW theyre an absolute menace (even for Wilbur), and im assuming theyd be fairly useless in RoG too.
@@TheBeard777 yeah you're right it's just something I thought I saw last from year when I was binging those guides I might be thinking of the Wilbur guide that had a little bit of the info in this one
Splemonkies scarred me so hard for years I thought on full moons primapes turned into their shadow variants.
In lunar variants)
nothing is more satisfying, than playing woodlegs and blowing up the entire species
Go to the ruins. These guys are more tame than their hell variant cousins

Apes can have tails

I’ve been waiting for this one! Awesome. You sir… are a hero.
Annoying but actually can be useful, Splumonkies wish they had anything on them, especially when they can even kill bosses
Shipwrecked is the G.O.A.T
As annoying these things seem to be i still think they look adorable for some reason...
Ahh...finally a guide on the most disgusting and annoying creatures in shipwrecked
Wilbur players: “annoying, I think you mean loyal minions!”
Pro Tip: if youre playing Wilbur (dont know why you would, but who knows), smashing one ape hut yields 4 bananas. Building one costs 3... see?
can you build a hut in normal DS if you use the teleporting thingamajig to go to hamlet/DS

Could you possibly make a auto grass and twig farm if you plant enough nearby prime apes and play Wilbur?
I dont think so u should make it by using lure plants
