Shiva Stuti
This dance is in the praise of Lord Shiva.
It's a come-back performance of the sort..I performed at Seva Sadan, Bengaluru after a long break in March 2021.

The dance describes Shiva whose abode is the sacred mount Kailash, as the most compassionate lord and the one who protects the devotees by allaying the fears of the known and the unknown.
The dance also relates the dual aspect of Shiva - the ferocious form of Shiva holding the Brahma Kapaala and the most generous form of Shiva, the Thayumanavar, who is also 'the mother' to countless devotees. It further describes him as the one who has smeared his body with ashes from the cemetery and adorned with the garland made of skulls. The dance eulogises Bhagandeshvara, the form of Shiva worshipped in Bhagandeshvara Kshetra in Bhagamandala, Kodagu.
The dance basically corresponds to the Hindu Philosophy of birth, life and the death and the ontological principle of Shiva who destroys the damaged and unwanted, thus paving way for new and the fresh.
