It's life or death. I can't believe they said that. This is horrible and to say people should expect for the machines to malfunction time to time .. when we are discussing the safety of our people. Unbelievable. My prayers go out to all of the families.
That's true though. Logically, we do what we can to reduce risk by taking all necessary safety precautions. Even with 99% chance not to fail, the 1% still exist as a possibility. In this situation, that was the case.
Whitney Randle: correct, no accident is acceptable. This whole amusement ride industry still remains largely unregulated, its still a bunch of dirtbags with inadequate funds to maintain their rides, and safety inspectors that are on the take and really have no clue about the rides they inspect. The airline industry & FAA has done a great job learning from accidents, and air travel continues to become safer .... I doubt the same can be said for these shoddily assembled & ill maintained amusement rides, which keep killing and injuring people every year, as they slither from town to town.
Whitney Randle I have the same thoughts you had. What a heartless fuck. To say they should have known these rides can kill you. The day after a boy looses his life and many more critically injured. I don't think Kasich has a brain.
This right here is why I don't ride any kind of rides like this at a Fair,Six flags or whatever case could be. Rides can't be trusted! Anyone can't disagree with that.
They are machines... That's a horrible excuse. If it's that bland noone should ever ride. They need to assure these rides are safe for human people. We are not replaceable like these machines.
I'm the type of person who will watch any ride quite a few times before I agree to get on it. Then after waiting in line, I sometimes chicken out (friends are furious). I am not afraid to be made fun of....not anymore after seeing this.
Horrible. My prayers go out to the victims of this horrible tragedy and their families. Its terrible that the two girls at the start were so calm that people died, and they were "traumetised." they werent hurt, not compared to the people on that ride or their families. The girls had a vibe that all they cared about was that they were fine, and not that people died. Thats horrible
Last year at a fair here in Nebraska a little girl was scalped by a ride I will never take my kid to another fair again after this Prayers from Nebraska I hope the injured get well soon and my heart goes to the lives lost. These pop up fairs need better regulations that ride at your own risk warning gives these fair runners excuse not to inspect the these rides fully and not take responsibility for when they don't and a tragedy happens.
"We're not going back in there. It's a death-trap" .... *Proceeds to get into a car and travel 75Miles an hour down a freeway to get away from the danger*
Yes rides/machines malfunction but they shouldn't be falling apart IN MID AIR!!! There's a difference between malfunctioning and completely falling into pieces. Those fair rides are thrown together by people who have no idea what they're doing. I'd never feel safe getting on one after this. I hope everyone is ok and blessings to the family that lost their son.
What ever went wrong, the personal injury lawyers are circling like vultures and the victims will get a huge pay out. I bet there will be dozens who were not on the ride who sue for some kind of damages.
That's why I don't ride shit at the state fair!!! *No Pirate Ship! *No Octopus! *No Wild Mouse! *No Rotor!! aka "the ride that spins really fast & then the floor drops!!! Not a gawd damn thang!!!
Thats why you don't go on Carnival rides they are not put together securely and not well inspected as they claim. Usually after an accident they claim they were tested over and over they are covering their butts from a law suit if it was well inspected this tragedy would of not happened.
wow that's sad and expect risk like not expecting to be ejected from the ride!!! I would have shut down the fair completely I would step onto one of their rides
Hadsi4 They watched it happen. They saw people injured. They saw someone die right in front of them at the drop of a hat. The deceased victim didn't just go to sleep peacefully... the poor 18 year old had his life ripped from him in a violent manner. One minute he was alive and happy & in a split second he was gone in an horrendous manner. The human mind goes into shock after witnessing something like that. Of course the girls would be traumatised. Have you ever seen someone thrown and killed right before your very eyes? Ever watched someone else crushed to death right in front of you? I have. Not a very pleasant sight.
The person who put this ride together should be in trouble because it should of been tested out first it is not right that a life was taken and almost seven others!!!!!!!!!!!

Prayers won't help, though.
Dan M Yes they will dumb fuck

No we should not be aware of malfunction. That's BS.

The girl sounds like she'll post about the event on facebook for attention even though she wasn't involved.
mikemorr100 she was next. How is she not involved? I've been in that line so many times, I can't imagine seeing that
its still a pretty traumatic event. Just because nothing physical happened does not mean its not mentally scarring
It's pretty traumatic to witness people almost die
mikemorr100 yes you're right
ODA spokes person should not be allowed to comment if they don't know the right thing to say!!!

They say the rides will be inspected again before they resume using them at the fair. What they need to do is cancel the whole damn fair.

An element of RISK, huh but NOT ENDING YOUR LIFE!! If it's that dangerous then shut em down!!!
Why didn't they show it?
beautifulL52 probably out of respect for those involved in the accident. If you really feel compelled to see the tragedy, look it up on here.
wow that's sad and expect risk like not expecting to be ejected from the ride!!! I would have shut down the fair completely I would step onto one of their rides
How did he die?
RyanDoes MMDs he most likely hit the ground to hard. but i really dont know
like he might have fallen out of his seat and hit the ground

Wtf!!!! The two girl traumatize?!?! They didnt even ride it
Hadsi4 But seeing it happen, I'd be traumatized, too.
Hadsi4 they saw it!!! It could have been them!!!
they literally saw someone die, wtf are you saying?
Lmao you just saw someone die violently. How would you not be traumatized?

Katrina Bard the ride was inspected 4 times before opening get day of the fair
