There isn't an easy way to turn off individual effects. Best thing to do is create 2-3 presets with a similar setup and toggle between then while playing live. It will work just fine with your electro-acoustic. I have created a video that demonstrates the acoustic sounds of the MG-300
Hallo Pedal Guy, I've updated the firmware of my Nux MG-300, your advice was to also download the newest version of quick tone,I did but this version recognizes my 300 as a MG-30,have you heard before this problem occuring and maybe a soluting? The older version of quick tone stays black in the second phase.
HI, I have a question - how did you create an entirely blank patch in order to then build up the desired effect, i.e. had that blank TPG created? that part was not shows in the video, only how you already had it on the screen and then the add up of the Amp and the effects.
Hi! Your channel is great! I bought a Nux mg 300! It’s great! I play in an R&B band so I need a clean patch and go to a solo patch, but how do I move patches around to different banks? I can’t find that out from the manual? Thanks for the help!!!
WOW this thing have a better looking preset software then my HUGE and heavy weight BOSS GT-100! I would like to hear that dual rec sound.. Its the amp sim i use most on my GT-100 as the other hi gain amp sims sound dull on my speakers and on some pedals that simulation is sounding very bad.. Take the expensive Helix as an example. The Dual Rec is very bad sounding on the Helix, so GT-100 beats HELIX yes! Anyways for that price i heard so many great sounds its still getting to my door as soon i scrub some cash together. Its not much for a pedal but im not in a hurry.. Thomann is getting that pedal to EU in a couple of weeks so no hurry :D What i love about this software is that they have the original BOSS , Ibanez MXR and more pedal looks on presets so we know exactly what type of FX we are using and what brand it is. Great feature!
Hi, I enjoyed your video a lot. I am a newbie when it comes to multi effects pedals. One thing that confuses me is when people talk about creating presets. Is that the same as a patch? I have seen people creating patches for the NUX MG300 and I wondered if a patch and a preset are the same thing. Also, can a patch for the MG300 be used with the MG400 or the MG30? Thank you.
Thanks. Yes preset=patch. They are interchangeable terms. Unfortunately no you can't use the MG-300 patches on the MG-400 as they have difference CPU/structures.
Hi Scott. I had the MG-300 and recently upgraded to the MG-30. I see you starting off with a clean slate. In the MG-30 how do you clear everything out to get a blank preset like this on the MG-30? Only way I can see to change or delete current effect is to select another one or bypass it but you can still see the original effect shadowed in the background. I am sure I am missing something simple but can't seem to find a way to clear the all out?
Nice job! How does the wah pedal even work as a wah? And not just volume? Also, what's the deal with the tiny keyboard regarding wanted to rename a preset? After scrolling thru the alphabet, a click feature would be helpful to select letters.
Hi. It becomes a wah when the pedal is depressed in the highest position. As far as naming presets it much easier to do it with your computer running the Quicktone app
Can you do a step by step video on how to connect the nux to the computer. I can’t seem to get it on the screen and can’t update firmware either. I’m sure there’s a lot of people who don’t know how to work this thing
I have a 2017 MacBook Air and also had this problem! I updated the NUX Mg 300 firmware on my brothers windows computer because I couldn't unzip the file. I was however able to get the quick tone app. When you go to download the quick tone app, Mac will not allow it so while that mini screen saying "Mac will not allow" is up on your computer go to system preferences, click security and privacy, click "ok" on the mini screen, then your system preferences screen will let you choose to download the quick tone app anyway.
Hey Pedal Guy, enjoy your vids--they are very helpful and helped me pull the trigger on the MG-300. Soundwise, it blows the Zoom G1x out of the water (even though I miss the more flexible pedal stacking and some of the drum tracks). I also play bass and was interested in loading some other guitar and bass-specific IRs, but can't figure out how to get it going and how it would look like in the Mg-300. I can't find the info and am probably missing something since I'm left with more questions rather than less.
Is there a way to bypass the Mic when selecting the cabinet IR? Where you would only have the cabinet but without a mic? I noticed this type of set up with some of the factory presets but I can’t figure out how to create that set up on my own. Thanks.
Hi, thanks for the video. I have 2 questions. How do you save a new preset without deleting an existing one and how do you get a really nice glassy, clean Fender tone like I have seen on some UA-cam videos. I play a Tele and for the life of me, I can't get anywhere close to true fender tone, It's so frustrating as this was the only reason I purchased the MG-300.
Thanks for watching. You have user presets and you have factory presets. You will want to save those new presets under user not factory. As far as getting a glassy sound, without knowing the rest of your set up I can’t answer that question

I think this is where all of these units that offer software editors fail to some extent. Downloading the drivers, software, etc. and mandatory updating of the device is always frustrating and is the hardest part ( sometimes it's actually impossible.) I believe the Ampero may be one of the only units that does not have an editor. I like to keep things simple.
All good points. Just keep in mind that you can edit the MG300 straight from the screen so there’s no need to hook it up to the computer unless you want too. @@msh6865 Thank you
can I switch on/off individual effects of a patch with foot switches live ??
Can i use with my electro-acoustic , I'm just bored of the peizo-pickup and also currently I just have NO effects pedal or eq or anything at all. Could this be useful to me ?
What mode should one select to make a patch like this generally?
Standard mode would be best. Reamp and Dry Out wouldn’t really help here
@@ThePedalGuy cool, also, have you tried the audio interface recording. Does it do a good job?
mettlecrusader29 absolutely. I launched a vid yesterday that demonstrates reamping with Reaper. The MG300 worked just fine as an audio IO
@@ThePedalGuy cool that's awesome to hear coz I sold my new Evo 4 yesterday becoz just using this unit for tones and as an interface & everything else is very convenient for me
@@ThePedalGuy I'll just check out that video as well. Let's see how it fares with the cubase
Does this unit has harmonizer effect, octaver effect?
Thanks for the question. It has a whammy but that's currently it. Perhaps it will be addressed in a future firmware update. Be sure to subscribe for more videos and news about the MG-300 when it becomes available.
Is it possible to edit presets on my tablet?
Nope. Sorry
Well.... How bout a laptop?
@@johncarlsencio9788 yes of course. Mac and PC
Can you change the pitch with it?
I think this is where all of these units that offer software editors fail to some extent. Downloading the drivers, software, etc. and mandatory updating of the device is always frustrating and is the hardest part ( sometimes it's actually impossible.) I believe the Ampero may be one of the only units that does not have an editor. I like to keep things simple.
All good points. Just keep in mind that you can edit the MG300 straight from the screen so there’s no need to hook it up to the computer unless you want too. Also the Ampero does absolutely have an editor app as well which works great. Thanks for watching and please subscribe to the channel for more great vids.
