@@A5tr0101 Nah, that wasn't HvA, that was just the opportunity to get ganked by vastly superior geared players which you were paid for with a PvE experience buff.
PVP can only shine in Arena. That's it. Like every other thing we had was fucking garbage except for one... And what do u want blizzard to do with PVP as theme? * PvP Zone in Nagrand TBC where u get mounts to buy * Winter Millennium in Wotlk with a raid - I didn't like both * Tol Barad with a raid - Didn't like it either * Did we had something in MOP? What ever * Fucking Ashran men i hate Ashran so much but the Arena in Nagrand that was fucking cool * Some PVP Worldquests u did for honor level or rep * PVP Weekly Quests........ I don't like em - 2 title for killing people without dying - Battle in Nazjatar Actually BFA has more pvp activities than the other expansions kinda funny isn't it? And the thing is since tbc world pvp is fucking pointless u don't get anything in most times for killing other player AND since u can fly when ur dead ur back at ur body in 5 seconds AND since u need only 1.5 seconds to mount up u can basicly respawn, mount up and fly away. U can't even gank people anymore after they annoyed you or for fun. . In Classic world pvp is fun because u know how fucking long the other player need to run for respawn and then u can kill them again for honor who's actually not useless but battlegrounds are still more rewarding since, well since ever. . And let's be real since u have Warmode what is actually pretty good AND a huge imbalance between alliance and horde u don't really wanna play with warmode as alliance. Sometimes u just wanna do daylis in Uldum and u get killed by 3 different horde groups because they wanna complete their weekly kill quest... That's not funny at all. The fucking quest is stupid if u ask me. So yeah i play warmode off even warmode by himself is a good idea but with the imbalance in the game it's garbage and u have to be really lucky to get on a layer where alliance is dominating. Another point are the layer. I don't know anyone in the game anymore. Back in the days u can atleast remember people u killed or who killed u and u had a little reputation on ur server if u did world pvp but nowerdays no one gives a shit. But sure u always did those pvp activities but only because u had a raid in tol barad or u get mounts, title or gear so u did it but no one really does it for fun if u ask me since bc. I mean it's not a competition to kill people who have like green gear, being half afk or build a group in bfa to kill people who try to make their quests for ur own quest. It's just u wanna complete the quest . In the end i don't need and i don't want any pvp activities in the game because 90% of them we're stupid or boring. Just make arena great again. I believe if we would have a PVP Stat again and the class or atleast the design in Arena would be great PVP is totally fine. I didn't like any of the PVP activities u had since tbc except for the arena in wod that was pretty cool but i did all of them for rewards not for fun. Arena is the important part in world of warcraft.
Queen Azshara was a name people have known since the Warcraft RTS days. Literally has a zone named after her in WoW. But as a raid boss was only given one patch in an expansion that had little-to-nothing to do with her. Her appearance was so unexpected that even Lor'themar and Thalyssra had no idea where they were when discovering Naz'jatar until Azshara literally appeared in front of them. She could have easily carried a whole expansion.
Same with Kil'jaeden (TBC), Malygos, Nef+Ony in Cata, Cho'gall, all of the warlords in WoD except for Blackhand. Legion and WotLK where probably the expansions that where best at avoiding this. Edit: I guess Kil'jaeden got shafted in legion as well. But I guess they didn't want to use the same guy as the final boss of the expansion twice.
@@marcusjensen7874 Kil'jaeden at least would have been a better final boss than ... The Argus Worldsoul? At least something that made it seem like we were actually fighting against Sargeras would have been nice instead of a giant lazer beam suddenly defeating him without even fighting him.
@@Landyavenue No one ever said she was dead, and being a plot device isn't "carrying a patch" let alone an expansion. The only way she actually carried two patches would be because every caster and their mother wanted her trinket.
@@Nerd704 At some point in WoW's future we will fight Sargeras. Absolutely 100%. He's not defeated, so much as contained. But the day we finally kill Sargeras will probably be the real end of wow. So, of course, blizzard doesnt want us to do that yet. Yeah, it felt weird to kill Argus, but they needed some way for us to actually defeat the legion without having defeated Sargeras.
It would have been cool if we could have just kept the legion weapons that we had actual stories with and made you feel a connection to your gear/spec and use the azeriate to beef them up. Whatever weapon drops in bfa could have been cool transmogs
BFA was bad, but IMO not using N'Zoth as main boss for a new expansion is a HUGE mistake. Imagine "World of Warcraft the waking city" expansion where Azeroth is slowly getting corrupted by N'Zoth and we have to fight out way into Ny'alotha.
@@lycanthoss Legion is considered a fairly successful expansion, and it only had 1 theme? So did Cataclysm. WotLK. And there still was variety, because one major villain trying to take over the planet doesn't mean the entire expansion has only one raid theme.
@@littlesunshine9218 My point is that I don't see Nyalotha being very diverse. Legion was really the most diverse expansion with the Emerald Nightmare, Valkyr themes in Trial of Valor, Nightborne themes in Nighthold and ToS and even Argus wasn't that bad because of Mac'Aree. A Nyalotha expansion doesn't really stand on it's own because I doubt you'd find much variety in Nyalotha. Maybe if we did things in areas outside of Nyalotha, but that would mean the focus of the expansion isn't solely in Nyalotha and would have to be called something something old gods.
@@lycanthoss The Emerald Nightmare was a Ny‘alotha thing actually. It was done by old gods; not the Legion. They coorperated with the Legion at the time because it fit their goals.
Ya bfa was trash. Quit after two months... came back for a month or two in 8.2 but still wasn't impressed. Game was literally a boring chore. GO DO ISLANDS. GO DO WAR CAMPAIGN. GO DO EMMISARRIES. GO DO PATHFINDER. GO DO MYTHIC + SPAM. Like damn, I didn't have fun at launch, and now you want me to sink in hours upon hours upon hours just to try to "catch up"? It's like, it's all casual content that requires serious hardcore time and commitment. I just want an expansion where I can raid log mythic/hard mode content, with some optional grinding on the side if I choose. Kind of like everything up to mop. Or maybe an xpac where the content is, idk, actually fun and engaging.
@Dakota Travis by the way. What made you think I play classic? I just found your use of the word "sperg" hilarious so I had to chime in with my own zoomer insults
There's also the fact that the grind is endless. There is no cap on the HoA level, which, to me at least, made the whole thing feel kind of pointless. There was no end goal in sight, just an endless grind which didn't even help me as I wasn't even a big PvE or PvP player.
Adoeman _ believe me, my expectations for WoW these days are extremely watered down compared to the days where i used to sink time into playing it, when i say that im just hoping it’s not as bad as WoD or BfA, at the very least im hoping it’s okay as legion.
Willy G that’s true, but i play bc private servers, and it’s a personal favorite expansion of mine, i don’t think any of this will ever be as great as it once was
BFA started off so promising. I really like the leveling in the zones. However something about the post leveling scene was just meh. The first raid was okay, but beyond that, nothing really kept my attention.
Yeah I actually really enjoyed the Horde levelling storyline especially all the Bwansamdi stuff but it turned into a horrible experience that felt like a second job once you hit level cap, much more than any other expansion. Grind this currency then grind a different currency then grind for X piece of piece of gear till the titanforged version drops etc....I’m much MUCH happier playing Classic.
Its almost as if blizzard wants you to buy the expansion and an initial subscription and then just completely stop working on it until the next one comes out, rinse and repeat
The worst thing about this expansion is that Blizzard was told every step of the way that all these issues you come up, and they just ignored it. Demonstrating yet again that they don't care anymore, they just want money.
@@hehaw4147 Shadowlands was delayed, presumably because they know that they can't afford another expack full of untested garbage. BfA never recovered from being released half a year too early.
I found myself trying to play alts, and realizing I just had too much catch up to do. Legion had thus problem in a way, but only regarding like weapon relics. BFA with the essences, corruption, and gated cloak grind was just too much. And it mattered more than the relics to your performance.
And your performance matters only if you do Mythic Raiding or above Mythic +12. I never had full BiS(or even half BiS) I just did a bit over the required DPS for the difficulty of Raid/Dungeon and I've never had anybody complain to me. And I didn't even focus on the recommended secondary stats, I primarily focused on Crit and Haste for Specs that literally had their Mastery be a worse Versatility and Master and Haste(or Crit) for characters with cool mastery effects. I dislike Versatility and I dislike masteries that are basically worse versatility, but you have more % of Mastery than Versatility.
@Mr. Al In exchange, gear progression stops soon after you hit max level and get exotic gear(which can be incredibly cheap to obtain), and that's without stepping into raids or fractals or what have you. That robbed the endgame content of incentives beyond open world for me.
@@fransethaiko1855 Absolutely and so was TBC and WotLK. Cata was just as unfriendly as Legion. MoP and WoD were the only alt-friendly expansions so far.
Theory: bfa was originally planned as two separate expansions. As recently as during the development of WoD, Blizzard was fully confident they'd be able to get an expansion out every year. WoD was basically two raid tiers. Legion had three raid tiers, but we know argus was a late addition to their plans, so it's feasible to think that Tomb of Sargeras could have at one point been planned as the end of legion. BFA has an unprecedented 4 seasons and goes all over the place. Could we really imagine that they had all this stuff planned for one expansion back when they were hoping to do one per year? Or is it more plausible that Battle of Dazar'alor was going to be the end of a faction-war-themed expansion that then led into a nazjatar/black empire expac?
A very interesting theory, especially considering Shadowlands is coming with a "time jump" so they can start everything fresh in Azeroth with the next expansion.
@@Chidsuey there's no time jump. Ion clarified that their statements about time working strangely in the Shadowlands have been read too far into, and that basically what he meant is that it can SEEM like a lot of time has passed in the Shadowlands when it hasn't really
WoD was initially designed to have more raid tiers but they scrapped all of that because Blizzard was too busy focusing on releasing their new shiny games that too over. Archimonde was not supposed to be the last boss, it was supposed to be Grommash and the Iron Horde. There was plenty of content planned for WOD, Blizzard just decided to scrap it in favor of focusing on other things.
@@silverspear21 they said at blizzcon that they had ideas for content that they would put into WoD if the next xpac was behind schedule. All they had to do with classic is just copy/paste their 2004-2006 timeline into the game and they couldn't even do that. They've changed and removed a lot of things. Like the skeletons or the BG release timeframe because people lost their minds about being killed over and over on a pvp server, when EVERYONE knew it was going to be insane when honor ranks came out. Everyone knew that before classic even launched. Sure, you can't replicate how it was 100% but what they WERE able to replicate, they changed anyway.

The story was also split up between both factions. Unless you played both factions' story quests it made little sense. Of course, most WoW story/lore makes little sense without consuming every single supplemental piece of material out there. Even then it mostly bat... insane. The best stories in Wow are usually the smaller stories without all the superheroes and more personable tales. They are very few and far between though.
Going from legion to BFA felt really bad. Due to this, i basically just grinding out bfa pathfinder 1 in the first month and stopped playing until patch 8.3. I like essences, don't like the implementaiton. I like corruptions, but again, implementation/acquisition was off the mark. Even at this stage of the expansion, the vendor isn't stocking all the corruptions. Just dumb. I enjoyed BFA in the second half of 8.3 a lot more than i did initially, though. But i'm not sure how much of that is due to the covid lockdowns and a couple of friends returning, or the game itself.
Good concept? Where? The entire premise was horrible to begin with. Another Alliance vs. Horde expansion after we just fought side by side the BIGGEST ENEMY in the Warcraft universe? Yeah, seems totally plausible. The ideas of the two archipelagos was good, but that's about it.
@@MrAlexDaydreamer It was great, it was warcraft for about one patch(8.1), but still. And the Alliance and Horde story was good, the Najara and N'zoth were meh. @@rattlehead999 It was great (I disagree though, it was horrible from the start), but made absolutely no sense. The entire premise of the war was faulty, pointless and fabricated, that's why it did never feel genuine. The "ending" to the war just makes it worse. Let me rephrase it: the Legion is the biggest enemy for 99,9% of the playerbase because they're not super invested into the lore. Most players have no clue about Voidlords etc. So Sargeras and the Legion were indeed the biggest enemy in the WC universe for the overwhelming amount of players, even if there are bigger evils (which only came into the lore some years ago). There can and will always be a bigger evil.
@@MrAlexDaydreamer there is no such thing as a bad reason for war. So yeah. There are wars for tiny pieces of land, wars for ideologies, war for possessions, war for the sake of war. War because someone got pissed off. And even back in the day, it was said that the Legion was on a Crusade to conquer to gain power for their means. So it was foreshadowed long ago. And the ending of the war was pretty much a horde way to end a war.
Worst thing was for sure how almost all the classes are at their lowest point ever in terms of fun. If the class gameplay isn´t fun then nothing else really matters
Hilarious part is that Shadowlands doens't even close to fixing this. 90% of the classes are literally BFA with a different borrowed power system. It still amazes me how many people that hate BFA are somehow excited for BFA 2.0. Literally the same thing that happened with BFA, it's like people have absolutely no reasoning skills and just jump full on the hype train.
@@hehaw4147 Thats people for you, and smart marketing. Maybe I need to lower my expectations of people even more, but said expectations are already dangerously low...
Get ready for Shadowlands. Blizzard has gone on and on about fixing class/spec identity with it but I've been in the beta for months and it hardly feels any better. Your core spec plays almost the same as it does in BFA, the only real difference is you get a lot of offspec abilities back, but those are very situational and never part of the core of the gameplay of your main spec. Sure, my Arms warrior got Ignore Pain, I'll use that once in a blue moon when I am in dire straits and getting my ass kicked but Arms itself is still playing nearly identical to BFA. It's the same for almost every spec, I've heard Shadow is quite a bit better but I can't comment since it's one of the 2 specs in the game I never play.
Essences had a catchup mechanic, but only for players that had played for most of the expansion. For me who came into the game in 8.3 I was suprised to realize that I wasnt able to catch up to people unless I farmed all the essences to rank 3 first on outdated content. This went quite under the radar it seems.
Playing BFA was like Ramsay tasting the food in Kitchen Nightmares. It sounded good but when it arrived it was clear shortcuts had been taken and the quality was rubbish.
The difference between WoD and BfA: Good classes. The content was good aswell. Id rather have bad content with good class gameplay than good content that is unfun due to bad class design.

I thought essences were actually one of the few bright spots in BFA. The only main issue people had with them were that they weren't account wide so the grind you had to do for them was increased exponentially, if it wasn't for that they were pretty decently designed
Brandon Laing lol, imagine how pvp players felt then, having to grind pve for weeks and hours to be finally able to start playing PvP, then imagine complaining about one essence
I will always remember BfA as the expansion that was so bad that made Nixxiom quit Retail WoW. So yeah, worst expansion ever. Sure, WoD was also terrible, but unlike BfA, I never felt like I had wasted my money with WoD.
I do sort of agree with this, Sylvana's did roflstomp Bolvar, but the lore also clearly states that Bolvar is barely half the power that fully merged Arthas was. Bolvar could barely control the Scourge. Is he a powerful being compared to our chracters? Sure, but he's nothing when compared to what Arthas was, it's not entirely inconcievable, especially after Sylvanas' power creep, that should could make short work of him.

Expanding on your analogy: BFA is like rolling through a drive thru and ordering a burger, fries, and a drink. You get your fries, then 30mins later you get your drink, and finally after another hour you get your burger. Everything tastes like cardboard. And then they ask you for a tip...
I decked out the first season/tier but switched to Classic ofc, some months after BWL release I logged back on to BfA to see a guy in my BG with 16x times my HP :)
Daniel Schultz Yeah that guy could just turn back time to that exact bg to record exactly how much health that other player had when compared to their character. Or they could just exaggerate the amount to make it more impactful and get the same point across.
I loved legion through and through, played it to death with no regrets but trying to play alts was painful. When the beta testers of BfA were saying they hadn't fixed any of the problems alts had and that there was so many problems with the game before it was even launched it was obvious it was a half assed expansion that was never going to be fixed. So I never played it and had no regrets, I've heard almost nothing but bad about it and I'm so glad I saved my time because I already burned myself out doing world quests in legion without having to do it all over again at an even more grindy level in BfA.
As bad as WoD was, I never stopped raiding. Hell, BRF was so fun I ran it multiple times a week. Yet in BfA I quit shortly after the release of 8.1 because while Dazar'Alor was a decent raid, it wasn't the BRF tier raid that the expansion needed to keep me playing.
the thing about BRF is that the raid was fun albeit a little barebones but also nice because the items could still be used in the early next tier HFC. If you got the mythic versions or upgraded loot there were a lot of nice pieces still.
While it did happened that I took a break from the game due to personal situations or even guild related drama, BFA has been the first expansion to actually frustrate me so much that, at a certain point, I simply gave up trying to play the gearing game. Especially when it came to my beloved alts and their AP+essences+cloak+corruption status. An unbearable, obnoxious grind. BFA has been to me the closest I could get to a Korean MMO...
Was also a very confusing expansion for new/returning players joining midway through. I think blizzard needs a more coherent progress path than the one we got in 8.3
Alt unfriendliness... pfff tell me about it. I hate corruptions with a passion, for nothing else other than my Infinite Stars procing while I'm trying to do freaking Spine of Deathwing where I need 1 mob to survive... >.>
Corruption was the worst part of the expansion for me. You ding 120 on an alt, then get two pieces of gear and have instant 80 corruption and then you're forced to do like 5 hours of story quests dying over and over getting 2 shot by the stupid corrution procs. It's the most pissed off at WoW I've ever been and there's nothing you can do about it.
@@Twistedstar0320 I do not mean "clean the corruption from the gear", I mean literally take off the gear with infinite stars or whatever preventing you from farming Deathwing
I have some fond memories from WoD, mostly from dungeons & leveling. I have NO fond memories of BfA. Can't believe they thought expeditions and warfronts would be fun content. But then again they aren't making content made to be fun but to make money, having people log on to spend 30min to get free loot. Also get the RNG the frick out of the damn game, it's in everything. Dps is basically auto attacking with RNG proccs.
I think it's easy to be critical about "burning through story" because the expansion itself sucked, but in Vanilla and WotLK we did about the same amount of stuff. We killed Old Gods in both, we killed Elemental Lords, Dragons, minions of the Lich King, the Lich King himself, etc. If everything else was good, we'd probably be okay with all the content. Everything else is spot on though what they did to PvP is beyond confusing. It used to be one of the most popular parts of the game, and now nobody would be caught dead doing it.
PvP has never been the most popular part of the game. What? Lol no. I enjoy PvP but even I know that statement is flat out false. Raiding has always had more players doing it than pvp by a far margin too. If by popularity you mean esports then you worded it wrong. Esports was popular and had a lot of people watching it but pvp itself was never the most popular thing in wow as far as attendance is concerned.
@@Drewsterman777 Saying something is "popular" doesn't mean it is the "most popular" thing in the game, I never claimed that PvP was more popular than Raiding. A pretty sizable percentage of the population used to PvP, even if that was just doing some random BGs. I remember being on Kil'Jaeden in MoP and my FPS would drop to like 2 frames a second around the PvP Vendors out in Pandaria because so many people would be surrounding them and queuing for BGs. The downfall really started in Legion when they moved to templates and now In BFA you can't even get BGs to pop half the time. Practically nobody PvPs now.
@@andrewshandle I went back and read your comment again. I was wrong. I misread your comment. For some reason I read it as "the most" and not as "one of the most". PvP is definitely one of the most popular aspects of wow. Esports can attest to that.
@@andrewshandle For me PvP took a nose dive after wod when they removed pvp gear and vendors. Seeing a dude in full current season 2000+ arena rating gear meant they knew their stuff and was good at it.
@@Drewsterman777 Agreed, the move from WoD to Legion when they went to PvP Stat templates really hurt PvP and then they just made it worse in BfA when they abandoned Templates and just made you use PvE gear. Ironically enough, while you need to do balancing every expansion, PvP is so much less work than PvE. In PvE you need new Dungeons, new Raids and a bunch of leveling zone. PvP we are happy with PvP gear, a new BG and a new.Arena, but really are fine without either the BG and Arena as long as we get PvP gear. The effort it takes to satisfy PvPers is so much less than it takes to build an engaging experience for PvEers, the fact that they've got it so wrong for the last two expansions is crazy to me.
I actually had a really fun time, but then again, I returned after a long break, so in many ways I was enjoying the stuff that Legion brought to the table, such as Mythic+ and transmog collection. I absolutely give you that the systems in BFA are trash, but the actual content, by which I mean the zones and the dungeons were good (way better than WoD or even MoP if you ask me), and I had a blast with the Horrific Visions and the updated Brawler's Guild, as well.
I will be fair about nazjatar with them kind of building up to it somewhat naturally but N'zoth and nyalotha could've been its own expac and was a bit of a left field "twist"
Yeah, Azshara and/or Sylvanas should have been the end boss of BFA, with the story leading up to an old-god themed expansion (partically set up by the Crucible of Storms), with maybe dragons thrown in (I mean, the Heart of Azeroth really is just the Dragon Soul recreated) to make it not all purple and lovecraftian. They really dropped the ball on N'zoth and the Black Empire.
The major flaw with BFA was most of the classes felt bad to play. The Classes in Legion were not complete without their artifact weapons, and some classes needed Legion legendaries to be viable. Going into BFA there were some class changes, usually making an artifact weapon ability a talent, but not enough to fill in what was lacking. When the foundation of the game is flawed, nothing built on top of it will work.
Hence why Legion is actually to blame for a lot of problems we face now. Legion introduced "borrowed power" temporary abilities that only last one expansion. Classes should be balanced around abilities, not artifact weapons, legendary armor, azerite armor, and corruptions. I don't know why most people give Legion a pass when it literally started these issues. BfA just continued them.
Hey WillE! Damn i watch most of your vids even tho i just returned for classic, which i played 14y ago. i "leveled" my old chars even to 100 but honestly i was never able to understand how players enjoy: a scale of dmg where you count in millions, more stats on items than on your keyboard and everywhere are epics which don't feel epic at all. Same for dungeon groups, it feels like paying for a certain *mhm* ride and when its over no feeling(s) or goodbye. The New Vanilla is ofc not the same as it was, just a weak reflection which seems to be enough for a lot of us :) Thx for the good content
It did tho, some things are scary, but a lot of bad as been straight up removed leveling WILL feel better Titanforging is gone and BIS are back Some RNG has been removed other than that Only shit that can be scary are covenant and conduit, and they said they would pull the plug on it, if it does prove to be disastrous
You know, just saying, for someone playing WoW more casually than competitively... I kinda liked BfA. Yeah, the story was all over the place and I am not a big fan of Sylvanas becoming the new big baddie (maybe just because we already had Hellscream a few expansions ago - would be nice to have a leader on the Alliance go crazy just for once). But still, the Zandalari and Kul Tiran story lines were actually quite fun. It brought me back to the game and even made me play some of the previous expansions that I had skipped because I had lost interest.
@Sharnie Gujjar Wat? Shadowlands is literally continuing the story of WotlK and the Lich King, wdym it didn't matter? I mean sure you couldn't see the impact of WotlK in the world, because the Lich King after Arthas (cant remember his name) was keeping the scourge of the world in check, so obviously nothing really happened to the world unlike in Cata where the world was destroyed, but that doesn't mean the story overall was irrelevant to the world. It concluded Blizzard's best narrative arc to this day from Warcraft 3 with us defeating Arthas and freeing him from Nerzhul's grasp. I'd bet there's many people like me who only started playing WoW because WotlK was a conclusion to the Warcraft 3 story, and I really wanted to see and know how it would end (because I grew up playing WC3 and loved that game to death).
@Sharnie Gujjar "To me, it was the worst because some random Prince kills a city of people and then is tempted by the powers that created the reason he culled the city." Well then you haven't really understood it at all if that's what you think Arthas and his story is. There is a reason why so many people praise WotlK as the best time in WoW's history, or at the very least it's up there with BC and Vanilla. I might have overexaggerated it, but it actually IS an objectively good story, and probably one of the best in the Warcraft universe. I won't go into detail here, but comparing Arthas' story to Illidan's is like comparing Mount Everest to some random hill in your country. It simply doesn't work. And I love Illidan's story, don't get me wrong, but it's just not up there with Arthas. Also, WotlK had the best systems in place and was overall the best iteration of WoW that we've ever had, so if you disliked those systems, maybe the game just isn't for you and you're looking for something else? Just a thought.
Lets not forget before Corruptions there were benefic or whatever the Najatar gear was random set bonuses. Actually, we had 3 sets of rnjesus gearing options this xpack. All of them kinda eh. Or, you know, ridiculously op.
Same in a way. Been playing off and on through all expansions, but legion was the last straw. Played legion for maybe 3-4 months and decided to quit as it became boring. Thought I'd wait for bfa reviews before buying and I'm glad I never played it. Shadowlands might be a disappointment too.
The thing you said about Warfronts is spot on, the fact that it was PVE was shocking, it shoudl have been a PVP match like wintergrasp or something, huge misstep.
I gave up trying to keep up. My gear is what it is... it doesn't matter, come Shadowlands some green trash drop is going to be better than that armor you spends months trying to get.
I've mostly been doing world quests since I started the expansion late. The leveling zones were great for the Alliance (don't play Horde), and I hoped that would make for a good end game. I was wrong. Azerite stuff just felt repetitive since I had to do those quests on multiple characters. Save us, Shadowlands!
Warlords was the expac with no content, but BfA is the one that is stopping me from prepurchasing Shadowlands. Only once the dust and hype has settled after launch will I consider getting it and if it is not all that, I just won't touch it.
There is so much missed potential with BfA. For instance Thros as raid and Gorak Tul as final raid boss. That place looked intruiging and they stuffed it in a single dungeon. What a waste
Next expansion wont fix anything. It will scrap everything putting everyone back to ground zero. And then a new version of islands, minigames, warfronts, garison missions, azerite and other busywork on a "must log in and play 30 minutes every 6 hours" schedule. Ofcourse everything will get a new name and a new paintjob.
I came back to WoW at the start of classic, hated phase 2 and thought I'd give BFA a go. I hadn't played retail since getting to level 95 in WoD and quitting.. In BFA I levelled 4 characters to 120 got them geared up to about 450 and then got bored very quickly. Levelling characters was the best part of the expansion, I took one look at corruptions etc and just figured it was too complicated / too RNG and just decided to level another alt. I'm hoping shadowlands can provide some fun for me but the thing I'm most looking forward to is chromie time and exiles reach.. I think i'll just be spending my time levelling again.
Eh it wasn’t. It wasn’t as bad as BFA. But just because its “not as bad”, doesn’t mean it was any good. My big gripe with it was that I felt alone in my stupid garrison. It wasn’t an mmo to me. I could do most of my stuff from my garrison.
nah wod was still trash. it lacked content the whole way through. remember 6.2, the selfie-cam patch? remember how they chunked the entire northern zone off of the map? how about when they cut the entire end of the main plot? and you wouldn't happen to know what happened with the temple of karabor would you? i guess not since the end of that entire story was unfinished as well.
Anyone who says WOD was good probably only started WoW with WOD. Because there is no way someone who played from the start of WoW would say WOD was good expansion. Like fuck no.
@@vasilije94 I mean I started at vanilla, but I still think WoD was great. I wasnt a big fan of the garrisons, but I circumvented that problem by rarely using it.
the Zandalar/Kul Tiras content was all great. It was after that when everything becomes a slog. The smaller stories and characters and locations were all great in the islands of Zandalar and Kul Tiras. I just wish that stuff wasn't being framed by yet another faction war that was then followed by a bunch of lingering plot lines that probably should have been their own expansions ( Aszhara, N'Zoth, Mechagon) I personally don't think the Jailer is anyone we've ever had prior knowledge of, I personally hadn't even considered that. I will be personally amazed if it's some old character in a new role, considering the lore around the Jailer suggests that the Jailer has always existed since time immemorial. As for Sylvanas' writing? I don't have any complaints but maybe that's because it looks like they've been taking her down this road since at least Cata, I 've never liked her and i am pretty sure a lot of the plot has come about simply as a way to finally get rid of her from the Horde, so the last vestiges of any outright evil characters in it.
Just a thing about the whole "losing power while leveling" part. Going from Classic to TBC will definitely cause your character to lose power. Your crit will diminish, the armour values are increasing and the lack of world buffs means crit based abilities like Ignite, Improved Shadowbolt and Flurry are much much weaker.
True, but in BC levels mattered. When you gained a level your stats went down but you were a level higher and the mobs didnt scale up with you. Gaining a level was a big power bump.
cant wait for the 'was shadowlands bad... yup' video and how activision (blizzard) didnt listen to covenant problems and how they only fixed it 1 year in.
Well I have 4x lvl 60's so can do 20 or 40 man raids all day long everyday. And still lvling new Classes. And Well atleast things in Classic is meaningful, BFA is 100% based off RNG in everything you do seems just 100% pointless in my opinion.
@@hoffyc.h393 well im glad you enjoy doing LFR difficulty content on 4 lvl 60 characters and think that is meaningful for you. For me classic seems 100% pointless
N'Zoth and Azshara needed their own expansion, after their role in lore, it's a disservice to say "lulz they are here because Sylvanas" then killed off quickly.
the biggest issue i have going forward is the yccle of badexpac>good expac rinse repeat. i have 100% faith that SL will be a good expansion, the qeustion is, what about the next one? if they rush that and fuck it up, im out. i dont want a love/hate relationship
Not bad...just average. And I'm going to say one thing in favor of bfa: they did try things...which is good. The problem is how incompetent some of the staff seem at managing those
The thing that really bothered me was the endless series of mobs. Every 10 feet there was another mob to kill. All this on a very underpowered mage it took forever to kill anything. It got very tiring, very fast. I swore I would never put another character thru that mess. Unfortunately in order to unlock a Gnome Allied Race i have to.
The reason they keep having to do stat squishes is partially because they simply have too high ilvl increases per tier. However, the more significant reason is that the stat increases are exponential. +10 ilvl from 200 to 210 is extremely different from +10 from 300 to 310, etc. So instead of a linear gain where you can expect the same increases, you'll see extreme jumps at times. This has been true for ages, and Blizzard just seems to keep ignoring the issue.
The fact that PvP is being ignored in an expansion that meant to build around Horde vs Alliance is really fcking sad ...
I swear there was war mode, and i turned it on a few times?
@@A5tr0101 Nah, that wasn't HvA, that was just the opportunity to get ganked by vastly superior geared players which you were paid for with a PvE experience buff.
PVP can only shine in Arena. That's it.
Like every other thing we had was fucking garbage except for one... And what do u want blizzard to do with PVP as theme?
* PvP Zone in Nagrand TBC where u get mounts to buy
* Winter Millennium in Wotlk with a raid - I didn't like both
* Tol Barad with a raid - Didn't like it either
* Did we had something in MOP? What ever
* Fucking Ashran men i hate Ashran so much but the Arena in Nagrand that was fucking cool
* Some PVP Worldquests u did for honor level or rep
* PVP Weekly Quests........ I don't like em - 2 title for killing people without dying - Battle in Nazjatar
Actually BFA has more pvp activities than the other expansions kinda funny isn't it?
It's just u wanna complete the quest
.
Blizzard stopped caring about arena completely since Legion. Blame Ion and his fucktarded ideas for designing classes only around punching npcs.
I hate PvP, and I agree with this.
And azshara isnt dead, she is still alive and she carried some would say 2 patchs without here we couldnt defeat nzoth
@@marcusjensen7874 Kil'jaeden at least would have been a better final boss than ... The Argus Worldsoul? At least something that made it seem like we were actually fighting against Sargeras would have been nice instead of a giant lazer beam suddenly defeating him without even fighting him.

@@emerie653 I don't know if I would have wanted to spend another 2 years grinding out Critical Chaos relics...
It was a mistake to ever let players use Ashbringer in the first place.
BFA was bad, but IMO not using N'Zoth as main boss for a new expansion is a HUGE mistake. Imagine "World of Warcraft the waking city" expansion where Azeroth is slowly getting corrupted by N'Zoth and we have to fight out way into Ny'alotha.
The problem I feel with a Nyalotha expansion is the lack of variety, so much purple for 3 major patches?
Just making N'Zoth a raid end boss is genuinely one of the biggest story mistakes they've ever made
@@lycanthoss Legion is considered a fairly successful expansion, and it only had 1 theme?

@Mr. Al well shadowlands will be mega alt friendly an eso is pretty alt friendly but it's not as main friendly as the rest.
@Mr. Al In exchange, gear progression stops soon after you hit max level and get exotic gear(which can be incredibly cheap to obtain), and that's without stepping into raids or fractals or what have you. That robbed the endgame content of incentives beyond open world for me.
Legion was way more alt unfriendly for a long time.

Game casinos need 7-13 year olds and their loving parents pockets. Move on people.

Most players have no clue about Voidlords etc. So Sargeras and the Legion were indeed the biggest enemy in the WC universe for the overwhelming amount of players, even if there are bigger evils (which only came into the lore some years ago).

I really didn't enjoy the rubbish
The difference between WoD and BfA:
Good classes. The content was good aswell.
Id rather have bad content with good class gameplay than good content that is unfun due to bad class design.
in wod it wasn't even bad content. in fact, it was quite good (besides the tanaan jungle world quest beta test). there's just been a lack of content.
@@Flaimbot Garrisons, mission tables, and ship yards were bad content - most else was good, especially WoD's raids
@@Rhodair fair point. totally forgot about them
I love how everybody just forgets that Apexis Crystal fills up the bar quests were the only world content. No other dailies.
WoD had no content, BFA just had forced time gated grindy content
Treadmill of fabricated objectives = Activision Blizzard games nowadays.
Treadmill of fabricated objectives = literally the definition of a video game
Mario is a treadmill (levels, worlds, etc) of fabricated objectives (arbitrary flagpole) that leads you to more fabricated objectives (killing bowser)
@@Neomagam There is a limit to the chores in games like Mario, or WCIII, as they eventually end. MMOs such as WoW, mobile games, or MP focused games are the true definition of a treadmill as the objectives never end.
@@ElBandito So your problem with Activision-Blizzard is that they make multiplayer games?
@@Neomagam Yes, instead of continuing their past legendary single player titles, such as Starcraft, and Warcraft, Activision simply focuses on MP only games with microtransactions. Pure greed maximization.
@@ElBandito Blizzard has literally never made a single player game. Maybe The Lost Vikings counts since it was only a local coop? Every game ever made by Blizzard has had a multiplayer option. This video didn't age well lmao "Hopefully Shadowlands turns everything around"...
If the 'Rona didn't come along and make sure I didn't leave my house for months at a time, I would've found all those systems daunting and a chore. BFA wasn't a great expansion but it helped pass the time.
Who remembers waking up excited to get on the game even if it was just to check if your items sold on AH. Haven't felt that for years.
how did the AH affect that feeling -_-'' the AH is still there. your just doing it wrong then lol
i liked bfa, leveling to 120. so nice
now. leveling to 60 :/ i mean, leveling is one of the main reasons i play games
It was great when the darkshore warfront would bug out, and people would leave to reque, only find a new one bugged at the same point
Aaaah, when players still had hopes for the plot of shadowlands. It aged like milk.
It's funny that BFA was hyped up as trying to put the WAR back in WARcraft yet 90% of the 'WAR' was instanced content against PvE opponents.
Like PVPers, we all became masochists for continuing to play BFA
I thought essences were actually one of the few bright spots in BFA. The only main issue people had with them were that they weren't account wide so the grind you had to do for them was increased exponentially, if it wasn't for that they were pretty decently designed
I hated having to do pvp for his pve passives
Brandon Laing lol, imagine how pvp players felt then, having to grind pve for weeks and hours to be finally able to start playing PvP, then imagine complaining about one essence
Here's the problem: they need to slow the fucking game down and stop time gating shit
Just finished this entire playlist and i very much enjoyed it! Looking forward to the Shadowlands video one day.
I will always remember BfA as the expansion that was so bad that made Nixxiom quit Retail WoW.
So yeah, worst expansion ever. Sure, WoD was also terrible, but unlike BfA, I never felt like I had wasted my money with WoD.
The legacy of the Lich King? That legacy died with Arthas. Bolvar is a chump.
Oh c'mon he's trying...

Expanding on your analogy:
BFA is like rolling through a drive thru and ordering a burger, fries, and a drink.
Maple Tree
He was over exaggerating to make an impactful comment, no need to take the numbers literally.
@@goawaygosh or we could be honest about the expansion
Daniel Schultz
Yeah that guy could just turn back time to that exact bg to record exactly how much health that other player had when compared to their character.
Or they could just exaggerate the amount to make it more impactful and get the same point across.
Maple Tree
Wow, bfa has been saved. All because of your comment.
This really was the Battle

lol, the point is that it's absurd even at 4x as much
I loved legion through and through, played it to death with no regrets but trying to play alts was painful.
Even one of my Pals with over 1 year played on his main stopped playing in BFA because it just fucking sucks
Whoever made warfronts pve only was the dumbest idea ever.
I found the questing in bfa and the world design/atmosphere really good and intersting lorewise.
The best thing about BfA? The zones.
I think blizzard needs a more coherent progress path than the one we got in 8.3
The problem is they keep build up instead of building out....
My favourite thing is that the faction war didnt even really happen until 8.1 (apart from the war campaign) and then just went away again by 8.2
Alt unfriendliness... pfff tell me about it.
You do realize you can just take corrupted gear off, right?
@@RoofTrooper yeah, once you've finished the 5 hour quest chain to unlock that feature....
@@Twistedstar0320 I do not mean "clean the corruption from the gear", I mean literally take off the gear with infinite stars or whatever preventing you from farming Deathwing
I liked corruption ... but only after they added the vendor so I could try out different things
I found Legion to be a fun expansion. Grindy or not, it kept me occupied for a months. For BFA...well I got to 120 and logged off.
Since most of the comments are about Asmon, I'll do a normal one.
I totally agree, BFA was a dogsh-- a-- game

Your takeout/takeaway analogy is really perfect...they will be parroting it in their dev meeting xD
Shadowlands already concerns me.
"I hope Shadowlands learned from BfA's mistakes." ....yeah, 'bout that.
It did tho, some things are scary, but a lot of bad as been straight up removed
leveling WILL feel better
Titanforging is gone and BIS are back
Some RNG has been removed other than that
Only shit that can be scary are covenant and conduit, and they said they would pull the plug on it, if it does prove to be disastrous
@Henrik Well, people want to play WoW. What else are we gonna play?
Shadowlands looks very promising actually, and blizzard has done many changes based on feedback it actually feels kinda weird to say.
BFA literally became everything i hated about WOD and Legion. Dumbass grind and boring characters until you have strong gear
@Henrik Shadowlands will be the best expansion :)
Hmm, I was seriously thinking about re-subbing for BFA. Sounds like I saved my money instead.
Ew! There’s a thousand better games
I could watch a full feature length film of your content. Love it!
As soon as the artifact structure was thrown out, i knew it wasn't going to be as good as legion.
i dont fhink bfa was bad i fhink people just took it as a suprise that there were that much content and stuff you needed to do
when did story matter? maybe just in wotlk.
My WoW experience started with legion and ended with legion. I quit some time before they announced BfA, and I have no regrets
You can't watch this if you are bald
Warlords was the expac with no content, but BfA is the one that is stopping me from prepurchasing Shadowlands. Only once the dust and hype has settled after launch will I consider getting it and if it is not all that, I just won't touch it.
bfa is a hamster wheel, designed from the ground up to keep unaware addicts subscribed, and buying gold tokens/boosts.
Maybe now people will finally start to realize that WoD was actually a good expansion, it just lacked content towards the end.
Eh it wasn’t. It wasn’t as bad as BFA. But just because its “not as bad”, doesn’t mean it was any good. My big gripe with it was that I felt alone in my stupid garrison. It wasn’t an mmo to me. I could do most of my stuff from my garrison.
WoD was amazing idc what anyone says
nah wod was still trash. it lacked content the whole way through. remember 6.2, the selfie-cam patch? remember how they chunked the entire northern zone off of the map? how about when they cut the entire end of the main plot? and you wouldn't happen to know what happened with the temple of karabor would you? i guess not since the end of that entire story was unfinished as well.
I just wish that stuff wasn't being framed by yet another faction war that was then followed by a bunch of lingering plot lines that probably should have been their own expansions ( Aszhara, N'Zoth, Mechagon)
I personally don't think the Jailer is anyone we've ever had prior knowledge of, I personally hadn't even considered that.
Cataclysm and everything beyond was mostly a disaster.
MoP and WoD were the golden age of PvP imo.
WoW has changed sooo much from the "good ol days" I understood virtually nothing of what you talked about.
Yeah BFA sucks, that's why I have been playing Only Classic since that came out.
BTW the last good Expansion was actually MoP in my opinion.
and what do you do in classic outside of your 1 raid per week where you yerk of while pressing your 1-3 rotation buttons?
Just gimmie back WOTLK or TBC ;(. BFA doesn't feel like WoW!
the biggest issue i have going forward is the yccle of badexpac>good expac rinse repeat. i have 100% faith that SL will be a good expansion, the qeustion is, what about the next one? if they rush that and fuck it up, im out. i dont want a love/hate relationship
Lol and shadowlands was a repeat...
First :)
Hey man . Can I ask what microphone you are using in this video?
thankyou nice vid btw!
