Jisso and Jennie wrote the lyrics for this song, but everyone remembers Jennie breaking down getting very emotional and crying on stage when they sang it in concert.

@@CriTiCriTiques from what I remember Jennie said when asked by a fan -why she was crying on stage-she would only say that the song meant a lot to the members. They had worked on it even before they debuted. She said when they sang it she thought back to all they had went through and their debut and this is why she got emotional and started crying. @@CriTiCriTiques Teddy Park wrote the song, he is credited with the lyrics, although Jennie and Jisoo did say that they contributed to the song, to what extent is unknown. "working on" a song and "contributing" are not the same thing as "writing the lyrics". It's a BLINK-created myth.
@@lazerx1828 Yes there is some dispute about this. It is up to who you believe, and years later we probably will never have the answer to that. I still believe they had a lot to do with the lyrics and YG won't give them credit. He never has, but thank you Lazerx1 for pointing this out that Officially credit is given to him. I just do not believe that to be completely true Unofficially. Not because of rumor but because what Jisso said at a private session with Blinks. I believe her. This is just my opinion, but as you say to what extent we do not and probably will never know.

Also, the reason why Jennie cries when they sing this, she remembers how long and hard they trained. (Plus when they hear blinks singing along with them)
"STAY" is about a dying relationship. You realize that the other person has fallen out of love with you, but you still want them to "stay". The city represents their hearts, once full and colorful, now empty and faded.

It could also mean maybe if a loved one is dying you want them to stay but the lyrics don't express that too much it's just how I interpreted it since it happened to me :/

It is produced by Teddy as for who wrote the lyrics from what the members told in a private show that jennie wrote the lyrics or contributed to the lyrics...so its co-writing which Blackpink does most of the time but mostly not credited cause either its very less or negligable we never know.
Funny fact. Lisa was scared shitless in that abandoned place during the recording 🤣🤣🤣

YG usually tries to train versatile artists, even if they are referred to as rappers Jennie and Lisa are excellent vocalists, and although many don't know it Jisoo is an excellent rapper!
"You owe me, look what happens with a love" is from a poem. And "Heaven is a place where nothing ever happens" is from the Talking Heads song, "Heaven".
Yes, the colored smoke lines up with the members standing on the van. Earlier in the video you saw Jisoo's color (purple) when she was on the skateboard swing. Later you see Lisa's green smoke as she starts her rap.
@Lazerx1-nice catch with the colored smoke lining up and seeing it later in individual member parts during the MV..I can see purple with Jisoo , she wears a lot of purple and is her favorite color and Jennie's Pink behind the car-but why green for Lalisa ? -i always thought her colors were yellow and orange-maybe i am just reading to much into the subliminal messages here lol ; )

Tbh it could be a love story now fading and dead but it could be just a representation of deceased relatives, close friends that now are gone. And you want them to stay longer. But who knows.

And rose part you see a sigh that says dead people for sale and a exit sign that means exit from heaven so the whole message is they're are supposedly dead I know it's kinda dark but its speical every way the whole meaning is that there friendship is undying that's why it's called stay
They also meant the song for the blinks, hoping they will stay with them

👉 all 3 are live songs and are from the best blackpink songs, only they don't have (mv) but the songs are spectacular.
I am not so sure if I myself understand it right but I think stay and playing with fire has somewhat a connection... They release at the same time anyway... 1st...PLAYING WITH FIRE FIRE (kinda about forbidden love or feeling?) then Stay (the follow up where the whole scene is like the emptiness in our heart when love is gone but you still want to cling to it) but yeah Stay is deeper than that especially for us Blinks (also jennie wrote it but was never credited for it).
As we all know BP comeback once a Yr and in one interview (I think it's Jennie) they said they are afraid the fans have forgotten them. But BLINKS would Forever STAY WITH BLACKPINK...

It's a 7-minute compilation of ALL their English raps, both hard-hitting and soft. Some were already in English. Some are slightly newer and translated and officially recorded.
As you may not know, BlackPink does tour in Japan so they actually sing their songs in Japanese (language queens). Their Japanese versions contain English raps (which are in the compilation) which aren't exact translations of the Korean raps. As in they spice some of the lines up for a more Western audience. One of Lisa's rap has a funny reference to a certain "star" from SpongeBob and a reference to a "demon" AKA clown from a movie with a short title: It.
Don't watch any other compilations because most of them are really outdated. This one uploaded by Winx Harmony seems to be the best one in my opinion. I humbly request you guys react to this asap and take some time to go through each and enjoy their clever and creative lyrics.
