Thank you for making this tutorial. I've been trying to do this motif for the last 5 days using different instructions and was getting thoroughly confused but you've made it so easy to follow I'm no longer confused.
This is a very pretty snowflake however I think you are going to fast for a beginner to keep up. I have been crocheting and quilting for 30 years and I had to write what you're saying down and make a crochet diagram for myself. Thank you for sharing your snowflake with us.
@@boneymeroney2674 Yea I have heard in some of the UA-cam videos I watch and some of them have said you can slow down the tutorial but I honestly don't know how. ☹ .... but I'm gonna keep trying 😁

I've been slowing it down and it doesn’t help with the second row of the dark colour, especially si ce the dark folour has so e speckled sparkle. R I still can’t see what she is doing when she does a single chain, then a sc into the chain, then an sc into the sc. I can’t see where the hdc's are going. Wow ! I just happened upon your channel and i have subscribed 😊This square is so beautiful 😍 and looks very easy, I've been trying to find a good granny square for the holidays, but I didn't want to use the traditional Christmas colors like green and red. Snowflakes are very Christmas to me, and the other Snowflake ❄️ blankets I saw looked way too complicated. Thank you for this one!!
Hi, I am still new to this and I'm not sure if I missed this information but can you tell me what size hook you are using and yarn weight?. I am excited to try this. Thank you.
I used #4 worsted weight yarn and the recommended hook size on the yarn wrapper which I believe was a 5.5 mm. You can use any weight yarn you want and then just go with the recommended hook size on the package. The thicker, the yarn, and the bigger, the hook, the bigger the square.
Thank you so much for this tutorial, i hade make the same with you , but i want ask you, you said make one single crochet round, okay , in the ech corner! I mean make two single chain two and two single, right! Thanks and good luck ❤
Well, thank you! I used the hook my yarn label called for which was a 5.5 mm (I-9). What ever yarn you choose to use go with the hook size it recommends.
I'm a little bit confuse here. The first row of the blue yarn you say sc sl and then sc. But later the at the same pattern you say sc ch and sc. Please help me is that chain or slip stich?
Either way it was doing the same thing when I did a slip stitch then went for the sc it was just like doing a chain. It was just a moment of realization for me. So the correct answer is chain.
@@KnottingHookCrochet thank you so much for the answer now I can continue crochet the beautiful snowflake you made and thank you for the wonderful tutorial
Hello, I've been trying to attempt this pattern for weeks now, but for some reason I am not able to complete it correctly. I followed the instructions exactly, and I am not new to crocheting. For some reason, at 7:53, my snowflake comes out with 9 tops. When I counted yours in the video, it only had 8. I am confused on where I am messing up. I am using red heart yarn.
This pattern is beautiful, but very difficult to follow, especially when you change the descriptions you’re using. For example, you stopped saying slip stitch and started saying “chain” but you weren’t saying “chain one” so it sounds like we’re making the set of chain 3. I was hoping to use this snowflake to make my granny square blanket, but I can’t easily follow.
@@KnottingHookCrochet I tried to attach a picture of the granny squares I've done but it won't let me. I was actually able to use the transcript to help me go comfortably when doing more than one. It has turned out great can't wait to put it together for a lap blanket. Thank you.
I tried this from other instructions could t figure it out you are making it easy thank you!
😊 Thank you! Happy I could help.
I used sparkly white yarn for the snowflake with a plain black yarn surround and it looks so pretty. Thanks for the tutorial.

I did really well until the last row…I simply can’t understand the directions..I’m so confused..where can I get a free pattern?
Same! I thought I was the only one! Did you figure it out?
I did but it is so big I didn’t like it. I had over 20 squares done and but I wasn’t happy with the way the square looked.

The brand of yarn you are using doesn’t make a difference. Sounds like you have too many stitches in the previous round or rounds.
@@KnottingHookCrochet I double and triple counted my stitches. I did everything correct but I still seem to be messing up somehow?

Sorry!
Why is the light blue color pattern different than the dark blue?
The light blue has one more round on the border.
What kind of hook do you use?
Use what ever size your yarn calls for
Can you type up the instructions for us?
I can give you the chart I used where it shows the stitch symbols. Do you know how to read those?
