Don't worry about peoples differing opinions. I think you explained the Humbucker and Single Coil differences very well. Some people just over explain and that further complicates it for beginners. Love your reviews!!!!

I already have an Ibanez with HSH, a Les Paul HH and an old Dean with HSS that I bought about 20 years ago, so I think I might buy a Fender player Plus SSS in the classic Sunburst finish. Great review, but I certainly don't run my clean sound like most of these reviews. Many of us use amp modellers and use signal paths with compression, boosters, reverb, delay, etc. I love a bit of grit on my clean sounds, where the amp is being pushed, and I assume many players do.
FWIW a very good review. I know you need to rig run down as a retailer and you need to stay dealing with Fender but as an overview, this was to the point on what to consider. Way better than someone extolling voodoo at volume 12.
11:30 It's NOT a coil tap! A tapped coil has junctions at different amount of windings of a single coil. A coil SPLIT plits a humbucker in 2 single coils of which of course only one is in the active circuit. Other than that, did Fender gave you these guitars? Because I've got a Cosmic Jade HSS strat and a regular Player SSS strat and I do NOT like the noiseless pickups. These are stacked humbuckers and have NOTHING to do with the fender singl coil strat sound we all know and love. These lack clarity and do not have the real strat ring to them. Some call them lifeless or toneless pickups. If you want NO hum, there are other means to do it. Fender should NOT be putting these in (ultra) guitars. If a gigging artists wants one, get them separately. These things do not belong as stock in a Stratocaster of any kind. On the positive side Fender did finally gave the Mexican strats some decent modern colors instead of that lame old crap that's been around for 75 years. Next a curved heel joint, NO screw in trem and that push pull pot? Just don't play it on stage with sweaty hands. This is a USELESS Switch for a PLAYER instrument.
Can you explain why you say " If a gigging artists wants one, get them separately. These things do not belong as stock in a Stratocaster of any kind."? What if there are people who want a Stratocaster with these pickups? The exist of these guitars has no effect on other Stratocasters, it does not change how those classic guitars sound. This is another option for people. It's like if someone orders a steak well done. Even though I would never want a well done steak, it brings that person joy, it doesn't hurt me, and it doesn't change how my steak tastes.

on any strat SSS guitar position 2 is not out of phase dude. it is electrically in phase.
