  • In this video I go over a few Global Special Functions as I setup my new X20PRO. I also cover some of the gotchas around Global Special Functions, their limitations and their utility
    Covered SF's:
    1. Enable logging
    2. Play Track tied to the System Throttle Cut state

Hi Adam, I've been enjoying your videos, and as a new ETHOS user I find them very useful. There is one suggestion I would make as I am sure a lot of your audience is like me and new to ETHOS and the FrSky radios. I would have found the videos much more helpful if I could see which buttons you are using to do navigation and selections for the tutorials. For example, in your Tip 3 video, it took me a while to realize that you were using the throttle trim (T3) to change the value of the curve point. It's great to get a closeup of the screen, but some practical information is not captured. Just a thought. Thanks, and keep up the great videos.

Hi Scott, glad you are enjoying the videos. I'll definitely keep that in mind, it's a balance of showing the full radio or enough screen to see what's going on and I don't always get that balance right.

Aha - I see you kindly answered an off-topic question so I’m going to sneak another one in! I’ve working on a kind of Shellim-like throttle arm - ele back and momentary on the Tx back activate a logical switch. Then from that one active I have another sticky logical switch called “ARM SWITCH”. I want to use that in the canned throttle cut as the active condition. It works, but backwards.. I’ve spent ages looking for the OTX ! operator in the Ethos manual but no joy. So, how can I invert a logical switch status? (I realize this prolly is a messy way of doing it but recoiled in horror trying to figure out Mike’s Ethos F5 templates without an Ethos companion and I want to start using my X20S - I didn’t fully understand e3soar+ in OTX but oh boy is it good for big 6 servo e-sailplanes) ooh, while I have your attention, is there a way of displaying all the logical switch statii (like OTX monitor screens). PS., you *really* need a buy me a coffee button!! Patrick “Grogu”
Update: Slavering over your Pro! Did you have to wait long for it? Update - I found invert! Working well. Now, I use the momentary on the back and zero throttle now to set "ARM SWITCH" - is there a neat way to hold down that momentary for say 2 secs and switch off that ARM SWITCH?

I got my Pro pretty quickly once they started shipping, got it in August, although I'd been waiting since before the announcement.
If using a Sticky, Delay before Inactive controls how long you have to hold the switch before it turns off. Set that to 2 seconds for a 2 second pull to disarm.

Right now, you cannot copy a widget screen between models. That should become possible once editing in ETHOS Suite becomes available

Hey Adam I know this is not on topic but I need help. I want to put the nose gear steering on s separate channel from the rudder, which I think I have done successfully. What I haven't been able to do is assign an independent trim to the steering. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi Michael,
You'll need to add a second Free Mix with a source of the trimmer you want to use and an output of your nose wheel channel. That will give you independent trim on that channel
