Silk Sonic was a gift to us. And Bruno is the most complete artist for a few years. He sings a lot, dances a lot, composes, produces and plays several instruments, and we cannot forget the contagious charisma of this gentleman. He's not called mr mars for nothing.
Anderson .Paak deserves some respect too. His musical abilities and many solo recordings are amazing. People are acting as though he is not a major contributor to this project.

Yes, he does! My kids knew of him, but I didn't until now & now I love his music. His voice & delivery is old school like Curtis Mayfield. If you don't know who that is listen to some of his stuff (writing & singing) & you'll hear it. It's great that people bond over music no matter age or culture. Anderson brings as much as Bruno. It's them together that's fantastic!!!

Kameron Whalum and Jimmy King (the two backup singers) are actually members of Bruno's band "The Hooligans." They've worked together for 10-plus years. They play multiple instruments also.

Of course you know the reason for that is because more people are just getting the chance to see him for the first time becuz of Silk Sonic. There is just wider audience available now. His fans seemed to think it's like people just dismissed him. Of course not, it's just it is the first time so many more people are getting a chance to see him AND learned how to pronounce his name.😊 He's more popular now so we can see how talented and creative he is. I just saw him working with H.E.R. He had already worked with some of the best and biggest names but a lot of his new fans are just digging into what he has already done and will continue to grow. He's a creative force for sure.

The entire 70’s sounded like this, I know...I was there. It’s always fun to see today’s young people discovering this ‘ole school sound. I blame today’s record companies for chasing cookie cutter studio created styles that they can crank out on a conveyor belt just to chase dollars while allowing deep rich music like this to fade over the years. Thank God for Bruno.

What clicks more with Bruno Mars is always when he collaborate with artists and or together with his band/ group and the crowd or fans who he makes it a point to participate one way or another in his songs. I guess he learned all these in his younger years with his family of musicians ang singers. This is called Philadelphia soul that Thom Bell arrangement that is why vocals are so tight and Gamble and Huff writing style but they put a new twist on some black lights in the basement music. Love your breakdown of the vocals. 😃😃😃😃😃😃

. . . and we're told that Bootsy actually narrates each song on the album, but Bruno said they're gonna release each song individually to"let it breathe," then release another cut and so on. Bootsy's introduction is here on UA-cam recorded separately lasting about one one minute where Bootsy introduces them as Silk Sonic and then the song.

He has been grinding like that w voice since he was 12 & as he said it ain't going no where cause he adds it to a song.
They did compliment him on it and stated that it adds color to the song. They just warned that singing like that too much can be hard on your voice. Bruno clearly knows when to do it.

Bootsy Collins came up with the name "Silk Sonic". I couldn't think of a better name, it's perfectly suits to them. These guys are the bright side of the industry. They're shining like a pair of white pearl. Especially Bruno Mars... this guy is the truth. A living legend, maybe the last true voice artist ever that left to us. He's gonna be a Titan in the future, like the special men that he carries their torches such as Elvis, MJ, Prince, Stevie and James Brown.

Bruno’s creativity, inspiration and talent are, without a doubt, a spiritual thing. It’s all inspired from above by God. Just when you think Bruno Mars can't possibly continue creating masterpieces, he comes up with another, another and another. In my opinion, this one, Leave the Door Open, tops them all. This well written and well produced collaboration with Anderson Paak holds its own as an original while it pays homage and tribute to the lush, sexy and sophisticated, classy music arrangements of the Delphonics, The Stylistics, Blue Magic and others responsible for the original Philadelphia Sound. A distinctive sound made possible by music producer and genius Thom Bell (w/Linda Creed in some instances) and Philadelphia International's Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. But especially Thom Bell who personally painstakingly crafted and created much of its architecture with symphonic strings, horns, that distinctive snare drum hit and other instruments and arrangements not usually found in popular commercial music. Bruno Mars successfully captures the essence of this classic 70's music style, as only Mars can. We all wish his contemporaries in music could also recognize the class, well thought out lyrics and music structure which makes well written and well produced music possible. This is certainly a song you hear once and you'll find yourself listening to over and over again. If you like this song, you've got to revisit, or for some, listen for the first time to some of the original Philly Sound classics which inspired this Bruno Mars masterpiece. Bootsy Collins came up with the group name SILK SONIC. Mars and .Paak talk about it in an interview on UA-cam along with the other names they came up with and rejected....FYI.
