      Id like to see a comparison using the Rich panels, too. The HQST puts out more watts than rated for but, they're made in Taiwan, I believe? The Rich panels are made in either Thailand or, Viet Nam

    Would love to see the HF vs HF folding 100w panel. Several have reported around 122w with it and speculation is that they are using two 60w panels instead of 50w.

      And a actual UV rated outer sheath for the wire would be nice. But it’s still help up fine letting it back in the sun for a good month or more at over 110 degrees.

      @@johnnysweekends high temps are torture on panels, it's been near 100F this week in my area, I've seen a loss of power. Been running my Wave 2 off solar 100% for the last week to get 'free' cooling, it's been nice!

      I'll be waiting for that. To confirm, if my current 100watt system receives another 100watt panel, in theory it should cut the recharge time in half. If so, I will at least make it to 400 or 500 watts. What do you think?

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  Рік тому +2

      Depending what you are charging will depending how long it takes by the amount of consistent watts coming in.
      But if a HF panel brings in a consistent 80w and you double it to 160, your charge time is only that much shorter.

    I like your videos, but even though Harbor Freight panel might show a little better output, the warranty is only 30 days, most of the other panels (ECO-FLOW, Renogy, etc.) has a 10/25 yr. warranty. I go with the better warranty. Even though I do buy somethings from Harbor Freight, their products have been know to fail.Thanks

    I’m not an electrician and don’t plan on becoming one. The eco-flow has me tempted because of the wide variety of batteries that you can get. I assume, obviously, that their panels are plug and play. I want it for a longer term usage after I can’t get gas or propane for my small generators.
    What am I missing? Thanks. Nice vid.

      Rigid panels are best for longevity and permanent mounts and best output. Not great for temporary or mobile setups unless you build a rig.
      Solar panels and a solar controller and a battery then an inverter are all you need to start a basic power station.

    Like so many other reviews, you picked the highest price for the Ecoflow panels you could find. That is not really honest, IMO. Right now you can find a 2 pack of Ecoflow 100W panels for $159, making them about $79.50 each. Or on Amazon you can find them for $129 each with a $40 coupon, making them $89. HF's panels are $120. Before anyone jumps in with " But that's EF's sale price, not their regular price," I have been watching their products for long enough to realize that they always have a sale.
    You did a great review of the two though and I honestly do not know enough to say which panel is better. But buying the HF panels simply because they are cheaper means someone didn't look very hard to find a deal on EF panels.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  8 місяців тому

      Well to put in my two cents. When I did the review about 5 months ago, the panels were still new and not much of any sale price then. Prices change all the time. Unfortunately I have no control over that. The HF panels can be had for $89 most times with a coupon.
      But the EF panels do perform well and have a true uv rated solar cable and a smaller footprint. So if you want a mounted panel these are nice. If you want a ground or suitcase then the HF are nice because the legs are ready to go. Bigger and heavier though.
      Sorry that was more like a quarter lol 😁👍🏼
