But you put their career side by side and Thomas scored at the same rate as Kyrie, before his hip injury. To me a bucket is a bucket. Kyrie may be flashier, but side by side It's was a pretty even trade as Kyrie and Thomas were both the worst defenders at the point guard position. I will argue that if Kyrie carried his weight defensively he wouldn't of need to hit that shot to win and I would respect his contribution more. Back to Boston. Somehow even tho on paper he was better than Thomas, he ended up being a downgrade, both in scoring and leadership. I've followed him since the beginning and he was never a facilitator or defender and this last season was his best season as a facilitator, and I personally wasn't impressed. He just looked to score and saved all his energy for offense, even though in his second season he was fully healthy to start the season, he still wouldn't play defense and Byron Scott, just let it go. Byron Scott, that's a story for another time. My point is that in a typical NBA league, Kyrie Irving is a shoot first shooting guard, that is playing the point guard position just so he doesn't have to play off ball. Like Melo, he loves to iso. But he wasn't able to do that in Boston, in a system where they move the ball around. He thrived in Cleveland where it was a two king system in which the ball was in his or LeBron's hands and they would let them iso.
No player should ever feel pressured into something they don't mean, if fans, the ones outside looking in, aren't not obligated to be upset about any career decision they make. Yeah but that was LeBron. We still were the worst team in the league with Kyrie. LeBron had basically the same team as Kyrie and took them to back to back 60 win seasons before heft for Miami. LeBron did so much for Cleveland. In the end nobody here in Cleveland talks about Kyrie, because he didn't do anything. If he played defense we wouldn't of needed a 3-1 comeback. He rode LeBron coat tail to a chip, then used that to make all his moves. He's going to make a lot of money to jack up shots and not play defense. Like Melo.

I didn't draft him. I wouldn't of. He's an offensive weapon. That's is a fact. You put him on a team that is just lacking that scoring, and he fits like a glove. Look at Boston who traded for him. Kyrie is more talented than Thomas, meaning he has more ways to score. On paper, he was an upgrade. But you put their career side by side and Thomas scored at the same rate as Kyrie, before his hip injury. To me a bucket is a bucket. Kyrie may be flashier, but side by side It's was a pretty even trade as Kyrie and Thomas were both the worst defenders at the point guard position. I will argue that if Kyrie carried his weight defensively he wouldn't of need to hit that shot to win and I would respect his contribution more. Back to Boston. Somehow even tho on paper he was better than Thomas, he ended up being a downgrade, both in scoring and leadership. I've followed him since the beginning and he was never a facilitator or defender and this last season was his best season as a facilitator, and I personally wasn't impressed. He just looked to score and saved all his energy for offense, even though in his second season he was fully healthy to start the season, he still wouldn't play defense and Byron Scott, just let it go. Byron Scott, that's a story for another time. My point is that in a typical NBA league, Kyrie Irving is a shoot first shooting guard, that is playing the point guard position just so he doesn't have to play off ball. Like Melo, he loves to iso. But he wasn't able to do that in Boston, in a system where they move the ball around. He thrived in Cleveland where it was a two king system in which the ball was in his or LeBron's hands and they would let them iso.

And to hold Kyrie and Kawhi over fire by saying "if you'll HAVE ME BACK, I PLAN on re-signing" Or "I'd LIKE to play my whole career here" That's them in their head saying yeah I wouldn't mind staying here or I wanna be a _______ my entire career, what exactly was Kyrie supposed to say to that kid? Why must players cater to us in decisions that benefit or hurt their careers it should be that way because this isn't just a sport it's still a business, and it should be very clear, that business doesn't go the way you think it will🤷♂
