Even with the price increase I still think that is super cheap per hour spent on it!~
Haha yeah I still struggle with marking up my items (: right now, in my spreadsheet I have a 5% profit tacked on to each of my items when I determine my pricing. I could go for a higher profit margin, but I'm afraid no one would purchase them.
I love the spreadsheets! Do you sell a template of it? I need to organoze my business and I think this would help a lot.

It's true .people are preferring the fluffy yarn over acrylic..and it puts me out of business..lol..because I only work with acrylic..blanket yarn costs so much..well..even acrylic has went up..but I would hate to have to change just to make money..😊
People are willing to pay more for the blanket yarn though, you just need to adjust your prices accordingly 🩷
Hi sweetie! Great video, I really enjoyed seeing all of your makes. I just wanted to point out to you that safety eyes are not safe for babies and children under 3 years old. Please let people looking at your Teddy Bear that it is not safe for any human under 3 years old. I know it's confusing since they are called safety eyes, but they can be pulled out of plushies and a little one could choke on them. I actually have a sign that I display in my booth that warns people about buying plushies with safety eyes for little ones. Okay, just wanted to let you know since it looks like the Teddy Bear had plastic safety eyes. Take care.

Thanks for your comment (: I actually take extra precautions to ensure the safety eyes can't come loose from the plushies I make, and from my experience specifically, when I have placed a safety eye in the wrong spot and have had to move them, I have had much difficulty removing them, to the point that I just have to start over completely and I'm not even able to sell those toys with misplaced eyes. I understand the concern many people have with safety eyes, but I assure you I am taking the extra steps necessary to ensure they can't be removed from the toy and swallowed 🩷
You're still taking a risk as they even come with a warning about children under the age of three. It would be sad if a child was able to get one out (as they can lay there for hours working at getting an eye out which you would never spend that much time doing), and then they could choked on it. The warning is there for a reason. I guess you are the only one who can make that call, but I sure wouldn't take the chance. Have a good day. I appreciate the concern! I'm not super worried about it because my customers who buy my plushies are typically high school age, I don't actually get many people buying my plushies who are kids, and when I do, they are at an age where swallowing parts is not a concern. Certainly if someone commissions a toy from me in the future for a baby specifically I would definitely embroider eyes instead of using safety eyes to be extra safe. 🩷
@pieces_of_scrap Most of my customers are young adults, so I have pretty much the same customer demographic as you do. That's a great age group since you don't have to worry about safety issues with anything. I'm really passionate about child safety issues. I'm a retired teacher and had a student who choked on a button at home. It's something I have never forgotten, and it's why I am so cautious about choke hazards. I really do want to thank you for listening to what I had to say without getting angry or upset. I truly appreciate that so much. Yes, embroidering the face is the best for babies. I actually do that with all my Lovey items since they usually all go to babies or toddlers. It gets easier to do with just a little practice. Keep making your wonderful plushies and showing them to us. I certainly enjoy watching all of the young fiber artist out there. It's great that our craft spans the generations!
