@@soupbob5813 mechanically the best yes. It doesn’t make them the most valuable players. nAts is the most valuable player of Gambit because he is soooo far ahead of the competition on his role (apart from Suygetsu). @@zest7812 idk if I would consider Nats "soooo far ahead of the competition on his role" anymore... I'd agree that at M3 last year when they won the way he was playing Viper and Cypher in a very "ratty" lurk-heavy way, hiding in his smokes and cages, etc that he was ahead of the curve and nobody else was playing those agents in the same way. But teams really picked up on that pretty quickly, even though they were a finalist at champs last year they almost became too reliant on the success of that playstyle with Nats and haven't been able to have nearly the same kind of success this year at all. They just finally started to look a little better at LCQ but still couldn't qualify..

he's by far the most consistent from the start of this year to now, and if he keeps the insane consistency YET again, nobody will have any arguments for his dominance. Yay may be the first player that we have in valorant is this good consistently not matter what meta shifts.

Emphasis on the again not the yet, yet has no meaning in this context.
But no I don't agree. After that kind of a performance multiple times now from him, I think he has to move out of the number 1 spot especially if Derke and shao aren't the ones in top 2 and 3. I think it's stupid that they rank this list off of overall performance cause clearly that doesn't matter in this tournament. It just becomes a list of the most clippable players and not an actual prediction as to who will put up numbers this time around

@@fortress7493 LOOK AT THAT now you're countering your original statement of how yay is no1 cause he's the most consistent cause if you're going off of that then Derke should be just the same as him. This is exactly what I mean, this list is biased towards certain players like yay who historically have been the best and not towards ppl like shao who might not have been absolutely nutty from the beginning of vct but was BY FAR the most valuable player in the tournament. Yay has slowly been doing less and less each tournament and this might be his falling in line with the rest of the players (I'm not saying he's bad or he's falling off, I'm just saying he's slowing down). If we're talking historical performance then the whole list should be that way and if we're talking latest performance then THE REST OF THE LIST SHOULD BE THAT WAY.

@@343JustMe derke didn't play during masters 1 and was no where near comparable to Jing, suygetsu, forsaken and shao in performance in masters 2.
If yay is slowly doing less and less, then his playoff numbers in masters 2 wouldn't be rivalling his playoffs numbers in masters 1.
No way does it remotely imply with his stats that he's falling off even though his playoff numbers were better than jing, forsaken, shao and suygetsu.
This list is about so far and what has occured last tournament, and yay by slight margin is no.1.

Idk why but I almost always have like Sideshow and Balla's analysis' the most even back to OWL days.. I really like how Balla approached his list especially though and took into consideration the players who get entire strategies and agent compositions built around them with all the teams utility poured into making them successful. It's something I really consider too when thinking about the top players and where I'd rank them. That and consistency, like I think that Optic is 1 of the most well-rounded teams other than FPX. (also idk how Mimi had Jingg twice and DIDN'T have Suygetsu at all even in her top 20!?)
I think those considerations are the reason why I rank FPX as a team and their players so highly.. even they don't necessarily have that #1 carry player who gets all the utility and support that other teams give to their stars, they're still making insane plays and like we saw at Copenhagen every single player on FPX have maps where they absolutely dominated! Even Ange1 after inting in groups had some crazy performances on some maps of the playoff series, even being the top ACS in the server on some maps late in the tournament. I'm a bit biased because I've been a fan of FPX since the FPX vs G2 era when Ardiis was on G2 and they were the #1 team in EU and FPX was always #2 to them... and to see them come full circle is great because they always seemed like they were just lacking that last piece of the puzzle (especially back in the Jett OP era not having a straight up duelist-only player). I think it'll be something for FPX to prove repeatability at Champions, but with their full roster and confidence from Copenhagen I think they'll go far again. I don't see Ange1 or D00mbros getting complacent after not being able to go to Reykjavik after securing the #1 EMEA seed in DOMINANT fashion for Masters 1, although they will have a massive target on their back. I think the international audience too, like NA, LATAM & APAC fans don't realize how dominantly FPX stomped Fnatic and everyone else at the Masters 1 qualifying.. I mean they beat Fnatic 3-0 with a 13-0 on Split (FNC had never been 13-0d b4 that or since)...
Also when I think of FPX's final few series at Copenhagen, I don't think they even did anything that crazy or mind-blowing strategy-wise.. it seemed to me at least that their solid fundamentals were the best part about their performance... like always having someone to trade for them peeking in 2s vs PRX peeking 1 at a time, saving utility for mid-late round, and just holding their positions being patient even when pressured heavily with utility, etc were some of the biggest keys to their success. Then you add in the fact that they have 5 players who at any time can be the top fragger hitting every shot & finishing every clutch, it means they also don't have to spend a lot of early round utility on just supporting that 1 star player to get the first blood every round.. when you consider these things their chances of repeatability drastically go up imo (maybe not winning the whole thing but at least being a top contender like I think top 4 is reasonable).. That being said, I agree with what Ange1 said at Copenhagen that any of the teams attending these LAN events can beat anyone else on the right day in the right circumstances. The differences really are so small at times, like the difference between PRX vs FPX came down to small niche fundamentals imo bc PRX had the advantage strategy-wise on some maps and FPX on others, and the last map 5 was the closest of them all... but those small little things are what could be the difference, imo it was the difference-maker for FPX in that last map where the teams were pretty even when it came to strategy and execution.. but ALL the teams attending champs should be someone to look out for. Honestly anyone could win, I wouldn't be surprised if another team came out of nowhere to win their 1st International LAN at Champs

People are saying he was the best player in Copenhagen even though the biggest round he had was the last one against guild where had he not done what he did fpx would've been eliminated. Shao was the guy that closed out multiple rounds that should've been and would've been impossible for pretty much anyone else in this tournament. Some rounds his teammates didn't even do anything and had all died yet he still managed to get them the round. Clutching is by far the most impact you can bring to a round simply because winning the most amount of rounds is the goal of the game.
