  • Welcome back to ChriswithaC RC .
Thanks for joining me on another how to video with the FTX DR8
Previous outing with the DR8 we identified that the cars front wheels were ballooning , So after talking with some good friends and also the head honcho from Custom RC upgrades they told me the best best approach would be to change the center differential fluid for a thicker weight .
So join me today as we dive in and learn how to make a simple change to get the maximum performance out of this awesome 6s Monster RC .
Also would like to thank everyone watching the videos , commenting and liking .
Please if you like the channel and the videos to like , share and subscribe . ChriswithaC :)

Hey Chris I really appreciate you leaving this video mostly unedited (warts and all) as it gives us all a trip along with you to see what it's like doing this for the first time. I bet you saved a lot of people a lot of work here including me! 500000 weight oil in the basket!

My pleasure! Yeah i want to try to stay true to my roots buddy , there are alot of people that produce videos on youtube and become a buisness first and most of us cant relate to .
The thing is we all start somewhere in the hobby and the grass roots of how and why we do it gets lost some times.
Fingers crossed people can relate to what i try to show .
Thanks so much for supporting and watching
      Stay awesome
      Chris :)

Thanks buddy , Yeah it does seem to make a big difference in the handling .
im going to tackle the front and back on the next wrenching video i think and use 100k for the front and 60 or 30k on the rear . also going to soften up the rear shocks slightly .
But once again thank you for watching and commenting

Thank you for sharing this video, it’s very helpful, after watching this I had my centre diff done in about 20 minutes, also worth checking the bearings at the same time, one of mine was grinding a tiny bit, so I changed it whilst it was in pieces! How difficult is it to do the front and rear diffs?? I can’t find any videos on this, and any info would be a massive help.

Glad it helped! , Thats what i hoped that the video helped others buddy get it done .
Front and rear diffs i found to be quite easy just take your time splitting the cases and get a note on the screws ETC .

@@ChriswithaCrc Thanks mate, I’ve done my rear diff, was very easy, and also replaced a few other parts whilst the rear end was stripped! Still haven’t done the front yet, not really looking forward to that one!

Another job I wanna.tackle cheers 👍🏻, Do you grease your spur & pinion gear? It doesn't feel right to me to leave it dry. I was gonna cover the hole in the chassis with a bit of tape like a dust cover to stop dust & stones sticking to it

    • @ChriswithaCrc
      @ChriswithaCrc  Рік тому

Actually buddy no i would not recommend it at all , its a open chassis and no real need to , in fact if you greased the spur and pinion its more than likely that debris would stick to it . the car has no issues with letting the dust and muck out of it and it has place at the bottom of the chassis to let the muck out , and remember its all metal geared .
      Thanks for watching

      Hey buddy ,
Firstly thanks for watching and commenting ,
Right what i went with was 100k in the front , 500 center and 70 in the rear .
That helped with Tyre ballooning and traction great .
      Hope this helps
      Stay awesome

On the DR8 buddy , I would recommend 100k front , 500k centre and 60/70 for the rear. Really does help with wheel balloning and traction .
Hope this helps you mate .
