I'm from the suburbs of Chicago, but I DO know that the south side is...well...not exactly the ideal place to live. There's a lot of crime and poverty, and I think it's great that Michelle Obama has shown the world that you can come from the ghetto, and with hard work and dedication...you may become the next first lady of the United States of America.
This is the first time that I have heard Michelle Obama speak at length on a variety of issues and I must say that I am impressed. This lady is classy.
She is a very likeable person & doesn't seem too pretentious... Seems like a very normal mama! Her hubby has my vote and she'll make a great first lady!
I never watch The View (EH rubs me the wrong way) and I'm pretty busy caring for our twin boys. BUT because Michelle was on this show, I took the chance and time to watch it. AND I am so glad I did! Michelle is such an amazing woman: a loving mother, compassionate, honest, classy, smart, just to name a few. Michelle was protecting her identity not looking for a new one. She was great on THE VIEW and I knew that she would be. I am very proud of how well she has held her head up despite the negativity that has been thrown at her. People should learn to respect this CLASSY LADY and not choose to hate on her.

The statements made are stronger within the topic of diversity. I believe that this country is not yet prepared for the equal state of political compition. This show was incredible because it brings reality into the softer side of of being a mother, wife, and a first lady. Good Luck with all!
Alot of people were saying whoopi was too much but, she was the only one hitting on the topics and not beating around the bush!!!! I love the comment she made about how michelle is helping to change the image of dark-skinned black women...and she's right.

I saw Michelle's speach a few times before and watch "this". She always impresses me with her high level of self-awareness, wit, listening well to what others in conversation ask her. To be honest, I haven't seen a woman or a person for a while who has such a wisdom and wit. I do believe she has lots of qualities required for the US First Lady!! I learn many things from her.
I love Whoopie. I really like what she says around 8:00. She says what's on her mind and doesn't worry about upsetting anyone, and she also doesn't get upset when people don't understand her perspective at first.

It would have not been fair if Hasselback jumped on Michelle's case about some hot topic issues, just like it would have not been fair if Behar jumped on Cindy McCain about John McCain issues. I think all of the ladies showed a lot of poise in interviewing those two ladies.
Alan Fram of the AP just wrote on Yahoo: that Michelle took flak in February when she said she was proud of her country "for the first time in my adult life." We are in July and the Media are still mis-quoting her speech! What gives!?!
