  • If your Nissan 3.5 liter V6 is leaking from behind the oil filter this video should be able to help. It is fairly easy with only basic tool being needed. The gasket comes in around six bucks (link below). This process is similar on the Nissan 5.7 liter V8 as well.

Been trying to find this leak in our van for a couple years and i think this is will fix it! This is directly above the control arm joint thing that i keep having to replace because of all the oil. I am an imbecile when it comes to mechanics so thanks for making to video simple and detailed! Will let y’all know if it works!

Great video, Neatus! QQ: where are the lift points for a hydraulic floor jack and then exactly where should the jack stands be placed? The manual only has info for using a scissor jack and I've looked everywhere and can't find anything definitive. Thx!

I dont have the van anymore but if I remember correctly, you can lift it with a jack from one of the a rams or the big cross member in the front then put a jack stand under the scissor jack point.

Mine has no cover under the passenger side. I just replaced the timing chain and guides at 144k. It was an interesting job, not as difficult as people said. Time consuming yes. I replaced the valve covers and didn't get the cover in the rear sealed properly so had to redo that. Reguardless of what people say, vans are never an easy repair and if you cannot fix things, dont buy a van. They quoted me $3,500 to do what I did. I still do not see why they wanted that much. Parts and tools I didn't have came to $500. 3k in labor is highway robbery.

If I remember correctly I bought two. Fel Pro and Mahale. The Fel Pro fit better for me.
