All Disney has to do is theme Frontierlans into the old south, and build a new Frontierland on the other side of Big Thunder. Getting rid of ROA should never happen. It is a monumental mistake.
Well with Big Thunder gone and no longer having Splash Mountain … basically that is 90% of the things I Love to do at the Park gone. Hello Epic Universe here I come !!!
Well, as far as it being closed for extensive repairs, I'd like to be on the positive side as far as outlook. It is an attraction that's not really based on an IP, unless you want to acknowledge the very small nod to the Apple dumpling gang in the queue. I think it's needed. If the tracks are in that bad of condition, then yes replace them, clean and refurbish the queue and definitely put the mine explosion scene in there. But it could also be that some infrastructure work needs to be done and it's going to have to snake through the area due to forthcoming expansion of Frontierland. Possibly sewage and electrical needs to be run in an area that would mean that some of the tracks needed to be removed to complete that task.
It hasn't been a full month in 2025 and Disney's already facing misfortune from the wildfire's threatning people in South California making Disneyland close down to this. I'd be surprised if both parks manage to bounce back from this.
I’m calling it now- the trains post- refurbishment will have “ Cars” like faces on the front, and have audio queues throughout the ride featuring Larry the Cable Guy shouting “ wahooo!” And “ yeeee-haw!”
It definitely is terrible timing but at the same time it's their only time. Even though epic opens this year it's not until next year that it will be out of their beta testing and then by then this coaster will be opened again. They seemed to be moving quickly though, a track has already been removed as of today. At this point the only Disney has is discounts. They can't do anything else. We're booked for Fort Wilderness and all this discounts saved us a lot.

Another reason I am glad we cancelled our Disney trip this year in exchange for an Epic Universe trip!!!
Same we were debating going to Disney but with everything closing this year there’s no point

No biggie for me. I wasn't planning to go to Magic Kingdom or Disney World in general this year anyway because of Epic Universe

I heard Universal Hollywood closed also.
Prayers for our brothers and sisters in the area.
@@LChatmanFL Yes Universal Studios Hollywood was closed yesterday and today. It's so sad :(
I still have hope that they are not going to remove the water of this most beautiful area. It has always been my favorite area of the park.
I'm bummed that it's not open for next summer..I'm one of those epic univerval parkers doing the Magic Kingdom for a day.

Don’t you dare say such things! Lol
Big thunder holds a special place for me as it was my first roller coaster. I hope they add the dynamite scene
More reasons not to go to Disney as I won’t anymore
I am very glad they are replacing the track. My last few rides were pretty rough. It is a great ride and deserves TLC.
