  • Today we go for a ride in the new smallest Volvo electric SUV, the 2023 XC40 Recharge. Our P8 AWD version makes 408 hp, so that sure looks promising!

    This 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge is the more practical version of their more fancy crossover, the C40 Recharge. It's also almost identical in specs to the Polestar 2, except for that sedan body.
    Make sure you also check out my POV drives with the Volvo C40 Recharge and the Polestar 2 if you'd like to compare!
    Also, this family SUV makes 408 hp and can do the 0 to 100 km/h in under 5 seconds with a range of + 400 km.
    The navigation and speech assistant are Android Auto based, so you can make use of Google Maps and Google Assistant. The speech interface in this car is the best I've ever experienced in any car.

    Very cool Car! Thanks for showing it so detailed.
    It has some cool little details, like the side traffic warning and for me the minimal design inside.
    Idk why there is a google assistant in the car, but it seems fun to use ;)

    I appreciate little amenities that make the driver more comfortable, such as heated seats and steering wheels. I live in the foothills in California, and it gets cold here -- but I will never use my heated seats as much as I would use COOLED seats and steering wheel!
    My 2013 XC60 is looking pretty tired next to these new models, but I don't want to upgrade until there are cooled seats 😂
    Do any of these new models have cooled seats?

    • @johnnypovdrives
      @johnnypovdrives  Рік тому +1

      I've looked it up, but can't find anything about a cooled seat option... maybe it's because they can't combine the fabrics they're using with the perforation needed to add ventilation

      In my experience to have cooled seats, would be very simple, but, need some fantasy or experience from who project the car: in my saab 900 (old model prior general motor's owning of the saab brand), instead to have for rear, dedicatet air exits, situated in front of them, there where huge exits of climatized air under the anterior seats directed to the back. the fact is that in a very hot day (it was a cabrio, so, rarely I closed the capote in summer) I noticed how good was the confort in that car, confronted whith my experiece in others with air conditioning on: my seat was strangely fresh, than I investigate and know why! that poor and low profile solution was great!

      @@petervautmans199 Yes I have also one and in almost 2 month. Run like a dream. Love to go to fuld EV. Hybrid was also good, but EV is even much better. Yes range is not the the same, but if you charge at home mostly or at work no issues. Longer rides just need planing
