Organize and declutter my minimalist bedroom with me - how to start decluttering

- I'm going to declutter my home this summer. I don't have a plan. I'm just going with it this time. I've been doing this more or less for 8 years. So I feel it will work out just fine.
But if you are doing your first big decluttering, it is a good idea to have some sort of a plan or structure that you'd like to follow. This process can be very overwhelming at first. And a plan can help you get through it safely to the other side.
Let's start with a bedroom declutter! :)

I have a big bedroom with a single bed, desk, a nightstand, a bookcase with 2 shelves. My own bathroom with a shower and a laptop and a ps4 and Nintendo ds
It’s a great point about decluttering activities too… I have had the same issue with books where I bring home too many from the library which I can’t finish, and I already have books… it becomes too much to finish and I feel guilty. So I will avoid the library at this time too. Thank you for your insights Nora
This sounds great! I planned this for the summer, but to be honest, summer is almost over and I still have many books to read at home! But I'm planning to get 1 and only 1 at a time fall-themed book from the library soon because I'm really much looking forward to autumn!! :)
I agree that the bedroom needs to be a calm place -- especially for people who are very sensitive to light / sound, etc. (like me). I am impressed with the calm, the beauty, and the minimal, light feel to your home. Lovely! I am still working on mine. Fortunately, my husband is totally on board with decluttering now -- finally! The baby blanket you could frame or turn into a cushion that you would use or a soft knitted toy maybe x that way you have found another use for the blanket and can justify keeping it not just as a keepsake x
I love the idea of finding a purpose of things that we don't use anymore but want to hold on to. Thank you for the great idea! I'm sure the right idea will come to my mind once it is time! :)

Our bedroom is a mess and needs a thorough de clutter before we can renovate the room. We are slowly doing up our home and only have three rooms to finish off but lots of de cluttering xx
Oh, renovations take so much time and effort! It is a big thing one can do for oneself in my opinion. Dreaming and making the home that we love is so worth it! It gives back so much to us! I hope you will be able to declutter and get to your renovations soon!
@@KelemenNora yes we are mortgage free so invested inheritance into the house. Done the garden and downstairs plus bathroom, nearly finished guest bedroom just two bedrooms and entryway to complete and decluttering as we go along xx coz it was the family home there was and still is so much stuff that belonged to husbands parents, uncle, hubby’s old flat from his first marriage and his brother and ex sister in law had lived at the house too so there’s stuff in the loft that doesn’t belong to us at all xx

@@KelemenNora it will be painlessly for me but not so much for my hubby but the loft won’t get done any time soon. Got what was my hubby’s dads room to declutter first so that it can become a spare room and hubby’s man cave do I can get him out of the guest bedroom xx
Decluttering is so difficult 😣! I’m always so attached emotionally to my belongings so I don’t really throw anything away completely, we just take them in boxes to our rented storage space😅. It’s a hassle but we have space at home this way and I don’t have to get rid of precious items that don’t really fit in our apartments. Such a wonderful video though, I love the way you set the bed as well! Like in magazines ❤❤❤
Thanks! ❤️ Maybe decluttering is difficult only, when we never practice it. What do you think? ☺️ I feel it is something that can be learned. But I know we all are different… How often do you take back things from the storage to your home though?
Good job working on getting rid of suff. I'm actually using a journal called Throw It Away by Guru Notebooks. I get too attached to stuff emotionally I guess.

Why do you think you are more attached to your belongings, than you’d like to? Maybe it would be interesting for you to look into it.
