- Carla Black has been a long-time resident of Volcan, Panama. During her 30 years here, she has helped Volcan and its residents in many ways including helping to start and run the recycle center. She also works with local women at the Soroptimist club. She is the president of the Heliconias International Club and even opens up her garden to visitors once a year at her annual heliconia sale. She sat down with me for an interview and showed me around her garden.

Wow, beautiful!
Carla is a very hard working lady always thinking in the best to our community. More than proud to call her my Soroptimist sister, God bless you with many years of happiness & good health 💙
What an inspiration!
Nice to see how Carla and Angel have enhanced the community with all they do. So impressive!
We're tropical gardeners here in Florida and plan to participate there after our move to Boquete.... thank you again!
I have heard of her gardens and would love to see them during her annual plant sale.
Nicely done. I would love to see her gardens.
They're open to the public one weekend in July each year at her annual heliconia sale.
