    I’m noticing on my class 2 that the over cut is too long. I have it set to 0 but it still has a very long over cut. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

    • @SummaWorld
      @SummaWorld  3 роки тому

      Hello Kenny, the over cut depends on a few factors but is first and foremost determined by the thickness of your material. For example, if your material has a thickness of 1 mm then the cutter/software will calculate an over cut of more or less 1 mm by default (depending on the angle of your knife as well). As you cannot go below zero in the over cut parameter, the thickness of your material will always be included.
      If you want to set over cut to 0, you have to make sure the setting is adjusted in both the cutter and the GoSign software. If one of the two is not on zero, it might explain why your over cut has not been adjusted. Please be aware that you will still have an over cut which is approximately equal to the thickness of your material. Hopefully this will fix your issue.

    Im just wondering, can this summa cutter, cut panels/tiles for wall murals etc (wallpaper panels) . I have a HP Latex L26500 printer and im thinking about printing panels/tiles, will this do this do the trick and cut the panels for me? can any Contour Cutter do this? thanks, matt

      Hello Matt, thank you for your question.
      The main application of our roll cutters is to kiss-cut, to cut the top layer and not the bottom layer, as seen in stickers. The contour cut is mainly used in print & cut applications, where the contours are cut - and possibly cut through the bottom layer as well (as seen in applications finished by a flatbed cutter). However, to contour cut complex or circular shapes through the bottom layer is not advisable to do on a roll cutter. Only rectangles will work, this function is called FlexCut and is included in all our Summa cutters. With FlexCut, rectangles can be cut and then later be torn out. However, FlexCut leaves connections (bridges) between cuts to ensure the material transport of long designs and to avoid paper jams. Find more information here: www.summa.eu/blog/FlexCut
      To have a completely clean, cut through of rectangles without bridges in paper, we advise using a flatbed cutter instead. With Summa F Series flatbed systems, you will be able to cut panels accurate, fast and automatically. The included conveyor system with media clamps holds the material down while pulling it forward to process the panels continuously. Or one of its many other media handling functions is Poster Trim. With Poster Trim, the flatbed automatically recognizes the rectangles that have to be cut out (without the input of cutting data). For more info on Poster Trim: www.summa.eu/blog/poster-trim.
      Summa F Series finishing systems come in many sizes and have many possibilities.

      Kind regards, the Summa Team

    • @SummaWorld
      @SummaWorld  4 роки тому

      Unfortunately, the max cutting depth on a SummaCut is 0.8mm with the sandblasted drag knife. However, with our flatbed cutting solution this can be done perfectly. For more information on the cutting possibilities, please visit www.summa.com

      @@SummaWorld Thats funny as I just ordered one about 5 min ago from you for $3000.00 and Summa said 15 mil was fine ...funny how things change just to get you to buy the equipment. Was told the thick material was find by Summa in Boston . (888) 527-1050

      @@myname2263 You are right, as are our colleagues in Boston. The SummaCut can cut 15mil after all! We re-evaluated our answer and found out that, from the European office, we made a human error regarding the units mil / mm. When converted to mm, 15mil equals 0,381mm which means the SummaCut is perfectly able to cut it. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and we hope you will enjoy using your SummaCut.

      Hi, I bought the summa D120 model last week, I was happy with the speed as in the video. but why can't I cut above 8 meters is there a solution to this?

    • @SummaWorld
      @SummaWorld  4 роки тому

      @@furkanunal8336 Thank you for your purchase! We are happy to hear the feedback. Summa guarantees up to 8 meters of tracking (Within +/- 0.1 mm on rolls up to 760 mm wide). When cutting larger objects, we cannot assure the result. If you need to cut larger objects then 8 meters, we recommend contacting our sales support department at sales-support@summa.eu. They will be able to help you further. Please specify your which software you use and the serial number of your Summa model. All the best, the Summa team
