22:39 it's been confirmed that the conflict card itself is awarded to the winner of a combat. This effect is not doubled if you have a sandworm in the conflict, but all other rewards that are able to be doubled will be.
I assume the cost on the city space is a questionmark, just like the gather support space. If you take two solari it costs nothing, if you take four it costs 2 spice.
And looking at the length of the words (plus the reward), I think it says Data Refinery
@@orski7821:29 If you check the top of the bottom image around this time stamp, you can actually see that it costs 1 spice for 4 solari, it seems like the replacement for the old choam sell spice space.
It's very interesting how different a groups meta can be - in our plays, Interstellar Shipping is visited, sure, but it's not at all the 1st choice people make in rounds, even if they meet the requirements. Also as someone already pointed out, you need three activations in order to go two steps up, then activate. I think the new IntShip is much worse actually.
This is incredibly detail review! I was planning to get the new Dune regardless but now I know what to expect and it's amazing! Thank you very much for the video XD
Sandworms don't double the reward symbol you get for first, it's implied from the end of design diary 2 where Paul Dennen wrote: "If you have 8 spice *and an Ornithopter battle icon already in front of you*, that battle can be worth an incredible 5 Victory Points!".
Also there's going to be a nice little play between Shipping and High Council (3 spice -> 5 solari -> 2 spice). If there are cards that let you deploy troops on reveal or that have the combat symbol in the agent box, it's going to be quite valid.
Muad'Dib will be quite a strong leader if you can rush fremen early and spam worms every combat. 1 intrigue every round is amazing value, and the worm related intrigues are insanely strong.
Looking at the desert spaces, it kinda seems like you get the Maker bonus regardless of whether you get basic spice harvest or sandworms
there is so many things about the design I love. The spies work so well with the new replacement to the mentat. Not only does it mean to get the recall ability you need to have used an agent prior and in addition if you use your spy two or more people can use the recall ability because it's not a first dibs with the mentat but a recall of your own agents. So excited to see the plays with this!
Very detailed and visually appealing review. Thanks! So let us see what will be contracts.
1st! Awesome quality video again! I'm interested to know how you think the game plays overall
Yeah it’s tough to get a good feel for the board until I get more info on what these contract spots do
40:00 The true strength of shadow alliance is when the alliance is not safe yet. You can really force opponents to spend more effort into keeping an alliance without it costing you anything.
Agreed! I wonder if it’s a one-off in the deck or more than one… will definitely make defending alliances much more annoying 😂
Hello, I have just come to hear of this game and it seemed interesting so I thought I'd look into it. I have a question, does Dune Imperium Uprising replace Dune Imperium and all of it's expansions? or Do I need to get all of those and then get this as an addition. I plan to get the physical version to play with some friends on a game night once or twice a month. Looks like a fun game and a good way of spending time with friends.
Contracts: 25:40 they're gonna be a handful of tiles that are randomly up for offer during the game, much like the Ix Tech tiles are. But like 2 per round. That's what I take from the picture anyway
Yea and then you have to complete a mission to gain the reward. First one wants you to harvest 3 or more spice in a turn and the second one just wants you to vist a city spot.
There will be good plays with imperial privilege if you are last to act. Last to act while you went to a high value spot means that for 3 solari you open that spot up for yourself again (the rest is already out of actions). This might silently be a very strong play, depending on the strength of other spots ofcourse. Also don't jank on the strength of getting useless intrigues out of your hand for a better one. Three solari to go there will be quite a bit more expensive as 2 solari though, so playtesting will have to see how easy it is to reserve three solari for a spot like this.
Yea there will be some good plays with it but it's more situational than mentat (which is already quite situational unless you are Ilban or Leto). Swaping the intrigue is probably the main draw of the space unless you are last to go.
Actually in Ix, I disliked shipping because the tempo was wrong for getting SM first, and SM first has a very high correlation with winning the game
Nice, looking forward for this new version and more news 👊👊👊
2:08 You cannot go up two steps and then down to get all those resources in a single action. You need the icon to trigger recall as well.
Super weird to me that nobody has commented on this on a competitive channel 🤨
@@orski78 Alright, but then there are plenty of spots where you can get lots of resources. Especially if you’re spending two actions. It’s a very good spot, I dont agree it’s the single best spot though.
This new update looks great! I'm still waiting for Dune Imperium Digital (Steam release this year?), but also maybe a console release for this as well (hopefully).
Great Video! Looking forward to playing it on my channel. Thanks!
thematically the shield wall is destroyed once in a one and done event. Wonder if it will be like that or bringing it down for a specific round.
38:40 Desert Call and Usul seem to be part of your starting deck. But I predict that these+the other cards are going to interact with the symbols on the conflict cards: U might have to give up a conflict card with the matching symbol to purchase it. Or those cards act as a 2nd half of the conflict card symbol VP, so U gain a VP but lose a valuable card from your deck
Cost on the new "Arakeen" is a question mark, just like with the new Laansrad action.
This beyond a shadow of a doubt, will be celebrated as the game of the year❤😊
I assume the Usul and Desert Call cards are leader-specific cards that begin in their deck.
you think the bonus spice will be collected when you deploy a Maker?
Amazing video ♥ This makes me to go buy this "new" Dune :D
You still use the old Ix shipping board if playing with Ix stuff.
Two things: Do you think the spy mechanics removes strategic location blocking? Well more than with the current card based effect allowing a second worker placement.
Do you think that double bonus for worms in combat might cause victory to be very 'swingy'. 4 VP in one combat would be possible, right?
It merely lessens it but that's a good thing because getting blocked is often inevitable due to turn order. Now you can preemtively do something about it but you have to spend an action or buy a card to gain spies.
Tier 3 conflicts with sandworms definitely look swingy due to the potential to gain up to 5 points but I guess it's somewhat balanced by worm locations not being the best combat spots. Will have to see the game in action to really asses it further.
Does the expansion Uprising replace the base game and its two previous expansions?
I am confused what is the difference between maker hook symbols and the worm symbols?
There's a competitive Dune Imperium scene?
They added the council 2nd ability so money wasn't useless in late game.
Fantastic, well informed Video, Thank you.
I'm planning to buy dune Imperium this thanks giving. Should I wait for uprising or just go with dune imperium
I think Uprising will be slightly more complex, yet similar, while still being compatible with expansions. We don't have any comments about how it plays
You could wait a little til reviews come up
At this point I would wait because Uprising looks to be the superior version of the game but probably best to wait for reviews to confirm it.
I would go with Dune Imperium. This looks way more complex than it should be. The best thing about Imperium is that it is easy to learn. This to me seems to me bloated actually. I would argue that this is more complex then Imperium with all of its expansions combined.
Thx for the video.
Contract activates during your reveal turn: Return any agent from the board and place it on one of the 2 contract payment fields either drawing 2 cards or gaining 3 Solari. Contract fields can be blocked by agents like normal board spaces. So you sometimes end up not knowing if youll draw 2 cards in your reveal turn or get 3 solari. Also: Contract fields can be infiltrated like any other field. So you might end up not getting a contract board space at all In your reveal turn.
Thank you for your video, you know release date ?
No but people expect around the end of December, based on previous release schedules
I think the secent bleu place has a ? As cost
the cost reduction of the swordmaster for 2nd+ players is "lame". Feels like some people where weaks and crying babies that dont have what they want. It was a strategy like many other to go to 8 solaries and buy the dude... juste my feeling about it. If they do that here, why not everywhere else ? "Oh poor boy you was not the first, here take you candy poor puppy" xD
is the dune imperium deluxe addon compatible?
I didn't think I'd be this excited for a board game expansion release but Dune Imperium's just built different
Same! The diaries do a great job of teasing different aspects of the game
