Born n raised n LA but Dad n 7 others born to Gramma from Hilo n Oahu. Lost some culture through the passings n shuffle but at 41 trying to self teach my only keki hula n culture. Thanx so much for your most beautiful male hula Eva! Saw other wit u wahini n trying to mirror learn n teach to mine out in Indiana now for 4 years. A Samoan sister in my LDS ward held a luau for the Relief Society where she taught us some simple hula steps, and how the steps tell a story. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had. It kind of sent me down a rabbit hole of watching hula performances. This was amazing.

Hula is such a beautiful style of dance. It’s such a wonderful dance that combines storytelling as well. It’s awesome to see a guy making a channel for it. All too often, people assume that women are the only ones who do the storytelling style of dance.

I danced hula in Wahiawa for over 10 years before I moved to the mainland, I remember almost this EXACT choreography. Almost made me cry. Beautiful.
I used to live in Wahiawa when i was younger. It’s such a beautiful place. I wish we never had to move. I hope to return there when i get older 😁
