Ironically thinking about learning jkd for my first striking I'm a wrestler so right hand lead him being a right hand lead having the same preference is nice
I remember Firas Zahabi saying in an interview that he thought Bruce Lee had a superficial knowledge of boxing and that he didn't think the JKD straight lead was an improvement over the boxing jab.
Who cares what some mma guy has to say. You should listen to an actual Bruce Lee historian like John Little who has done plenty of interview the last couple of years. Bruce was a phenom. Incredibly gifted, extremely knowledgeable and has the physical ability to do things most people can’t. He knew boxing inside and out. You could also check out Tommy Carruthers who according to Bruce’s first student Jesse Glover, is the only person he ever met that was able to perform JKD to the same level as Bruce. His speed, power and footwork is phenomenal. He also could have gone pro as a boxer if he wanted but chose to pursue JKD instead. He was even asked by Bruce’s family twice to demonstrate JKD as birthday celebrations. Something nobody else has been asked to do.
@madhookersboxingmartialarts why do you think tyson is right handed He signs autographs with his right hand but that's because he was taught to write right handed. He himself has said he was born left handed. He is an ambidextrous fighter
Corey Taylor Unmasked

Thank you for the interesting comparison of different martial arts!
Excellent "analytical" comparisons between the two different jabs 🥊 left a like to the vid !
Thanks

I started with JKD. Now when I spar southpaw I do more JKD but when I spar orthodox I do more peekaboo.

The best thing to do is try it out. There’s pluses and negatives to the JKD straight lead.
@@madhookersboxingmartialarts Thanks. Really enjoy your videos. Keep 'em coming.

@@axelstone3131 I can't tell if this is satire or not.
@@adamjones1982 I can’t tell if you’re just ignorant or dumb. 🤦♂️
Good stuff. Please cover more basics.
There are a couple of Colombian guys in my same gym, they use a guard that reminds a lot the Bruce Lee's guard
Thanks Mad Hooker!!!
It'd be awesome if you elaborated on the "Dragon's tail" stance and application.
I will thanks
Nice to meet you a pleasure

Yeah the mask is played

8:30 the JKD jab kind of gives you more reach and distance than the peakaboo jab
Yes it can.
