The Rocking Reverends - Killed By Death (1964)

- It was 1964 and British rock and roll band, The Rocking Reverends were riding high with their hit single "Killed by Death". Entering the Top 1000 rock charts at number 998 and peaking 2 weeks later at 992. They were living the dream. Unfortunately this would be the pinnacle of their success.
20 years later, Motorhead would release a song with the exact same title and lyrics. Lemmy had stated that the song came to him in a dream but it is more likely that he had heard it on the radio during a bender of Jack Daniels and speed, and assumed that he had written it.

I love this song!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The really weird thing is the way the Rocking Reverends spent 20 years sitting at a table in the Rainbow bar and grill before simultaneously dropping dead of heart attacks from speed the day before Lemmy walked in there and started sitting at that same table.
It's nice to see someone else who is well versed in the history of The Rocking Reverends 😁
My uncle told me about a show he caught from The Rocking Reverends at a small road house in Dallas, Texas back in September of '64. Unfortunately not too many folks showed up since The Beatles just so happened to be playing a show in Dallas the same day, bummer. Hopefully you can post more of these remasters of The Rocking Reverends like maybe their other hits like I Am The Sword, or You Better Run.
Lemmy Lives!
Great - thanks for posting this!
Top work
You had me going there for a second. Maybe two. Maybe.
See their name is influenced by Lemmy first band he was in was the Rockin Vicars & this is a great version of Motorhead classic if your going to do a cover do it different.
Lemmy approved this from Hell
This is funny.
