This guy is the reason i started to listen electronic music with his BALANCE 005 mixed cd. Since then we both have come a long way. Listening this track, feelings unknown once more emerge…Thank you James.
I had this on repeat on Spotify without noticing it, appreciated even more the 10th time when I had noticed that I wasn’t ever curious on when it was going to end. I was just enjoying the feels.
This track is fighting the chaos of everything it could be, arriving all at once, from every direction, and barely holding it together. Pretty lifelike.
This track (particularly from 0:45 to 1:50) reminds me so much of a soundtrack to a movie or TV show from the late 70's, early 80's that I just can't quite place. Makes me feel really nostalgic for that time.
Amazing track. Loving the melodie, the moment the bass kicks in, the chaos. Takes my mind somewhere else. And all of it recorded and made up on the fly !
Even with the new direction it's still very distinctly Holden - loving it! Especially with this being an improvisational piece I can't wait for the live performance in Germany.
Out of nowhere I was being nostalgic and listening to Holden -Nothing (93 Returning) and to my shock stumble across this on the day it's released here. That bassline is Holden from a mile away, and a bit of Nathan Fake :)
@@wi2b kind of yes… for having interviewed him a couple of times he likes to be deliberately akward (in his own words). He doesn’t like when everything is planned or « considered » when you feel everything is drawn by the mouse in the editor… he likes chaos in things
Liking it. There's a slightly weird feel between the sequenced synth melody and drums - the off-timing works in some places and not in others. It feels like the melody is leading the tune rather than the drummer. Could just be the mix though. Anyway, looking forward to the album!
THIS IS THE SONG OF LIFE ITSELF

Still one of my fav mixes of all time, what a journey. Loving the new stuff too.
James, your story is just like mine. I couldn’t agree more about this track
Fortune telling fish, curled to suggest home ;)

...but with a smile :-)
Yeah Holden always sounds like that, like evrything is going to fall apart and then instead it comes together beautifully

Reminds me of some of those retro game soundtracks
I will always be glad when new music springs from James' mind.

Thx to Thom Yorke for guiding me to this music!
1:30 why?
Have you ever heard of a band named The Cure? A bunch of English guys with a very pale skin...
@@koincoin30 I was referring to the less harmonic part at 1:30. Do you mean it's a nod to a Cure song?
