Thank you, Christopher! I did use the black button but it wouldn't work. It wouldn't engage Now after watching the video, I realize I was doing it wrong. I didn't realize you're supposed to hold the button as you lower the foot. :) Thank you!

Thank you Christopher for the great how to video! I just bought this machine (used) and make bags. So needless to say, this video was extremely useful!

That is the scenario in which you use the hump jumper behind the starting point of your fabric. My Viking machine came with one. I really only ever needed it for sewing denim. If you watch seamstress videos, they use a variety of materials to level the presser foot where the fabric is not. For example, I have seen plastic package band cut in a strip positioned at the side of fabric when sewing close to the edge. Make do! But it works!!

That's a great tip. Never thought of it but just common sense.

Excellent video! I make bags from marine vinyl banners and 6 layers is my maximum. Looking for a stronger/more powerful/faster machine upgrade. Would you still recommend this juke over any other models released in the past two years? Thank you in advance!

I have this same model and everytime I use the automatic lockstitch it looks messy in the bottom thread. I read that the tension in the thread might be loose, anyone else having the same issue?

How does this machine perform on continuous slower sewing. My wife has an "industrial" singer CG590. (OK...I know it's not industrial) but anyway, she used it to make a quilt and during such, the motor overheated and began to smell. It still works but I wonder how this machine will work under the same conditions?

Take it back to the local dealer you bought it from and have them check it out.

Can you do a video about pressure feet for this machine? Can it fit generic feet?

I also have an F 300 but I can’t seem to get the height of my ruler foot to allow the fabric to move beneath it when the pressure foot is lowered… I’m extremely frustrated and I can’t find any else have you had this problem also???

Christopher has never used a ruler foot. He suggests you visit the dealer of where you purchased your sewing machine or contact Juki directly for assistance.

Is the straight stitch on this machine always so wonky or is that just because you said you weren’t really holding the fabric?

He is using all purpose thread on the heavy duck cloth. As you become more experienced in sewing you will learn how different threads lay on different fabrics.
