Fun! We moved from Weymouth when I was ten years old, in 1966. My memories are frozen in my head from that era, so most of this is new to me. I went to Sacred Heart School, and I recognized that. Scary place. When my brother was in second grade (I was in first grade) he got held after school for spinning his milk carton on the table at lunch time. My dad had taken a half day off from work in order for our family to go see Santa in Boston, and the disruption that my brother caused to our day left me aghast. Other than school, I have nothing but fond memories of living there. Lots of snow in the winters and lots of time spent at Wessagusset (sp?) beach in the summers. We lived on Worthen Ave.
10 years old when you left, you must have missed out on the pleasures of Sister Rosina (Rosie, 5th grade), or Sister Anna Carmel (Chewy, 6th grade). In 1966 I was at Sacred Heart at 9 years old. I got my "parole" from there in 1970.
@@roberts6900 I believe my brother had Sister Rosina for 5th grade. The name sounds familiar. He is a year older than me. We both had Sister Christine for first grade, Sister Karen Ann for second, I had Miss Desmond for third, and we had Sister Maria Cordis for fourth. Not sure of those spellings. Do you remember the “playground” behind the school? Just a small yard made of cement.
Love that footage. Great to see the new huge apartment building. I grew up in Weymouth but live in Florida now.
