I'm a lyft and uber driver in Atlanta and sometimes I pick up young teens, The first thing they ask me is to play some current hiphop and I turn around and play old school music like this and they get hooked into it and start asking me who is this etc. Gotta school these young folks on good hiphop!

+Eric Brooks Hell yea! This was my high school daze (well, '92-'97)-I call it the golden age of hip-hop and gangsta rap, but I like the name G Funk Era à la Warren G better; I'm from the LBC but went to school in Torrance and Inglewood. The point is, I love West Coast hip-hop; you gotta rep your hood. But I still really like the East Coast style from this period. And I agree, homie! Far as I'm concerned, hip-hop started dying after Tupac (RIP Makavelli) and Biggie (RIP Big Poppa) died. There's been a few decent artists since then, like Eminem and my man Jabok, but all in all, it's just a gang of new-age craprap, talking bout club hopping and black and yellow rides instead of block parties, thug life and banging on wax. This modern electro-alternative limpdick garbage sounds like the cries of the aborted fetus of the love child of R&B and electronic club "music". Haters gonna hate, but I completely agree with you. Good thing there's things like UA-cam and if you live here, K-DAY =P

Brings me back to my high school days 92-95. Those were some of the best years of hip hop. I'd fly home after school every day so I could beat my brothers to the tv before they claimed it and started playing their Sega Geneis. I loved recording videos from Yo Mtv Raps and BET Rap City and watching the tapes with my friends on the weekends, making up dance routines to our favorite songs. Good memories.

Man this is classic!!!! I remember when this joint dropped on Video Music Box in NYC. Brooklyn was turned up, hip-hop got the biggest shock of life when this song dropped. The golden era of music was 87-98; I was attending SUNY/Old Westbury in Long Island and we were known for parties and shows on the college scene. I am with you Eric on this it will make you cry as you remember the time. . . .

*BRING BACK REAL HIP HOP AND BEAT MAKING.*
*THANKS BLACK MOON , BUCKSHOT AND ALL REAL HIP HOP ORIGINAL TALENT. YOU SHAPED OUR CHILDHOOD, ADOLESCENCE AND ADULTHOOD TO A CERTAIN DEGREE. HIP HOP IS A SHE TO ME AND SHE LISTENED TO ME, EXPANDED MY VIEWS ON LIFE, GAVE ME A VOICE BECAUSE NARROW MINDED ADULTS WOULDN'T LISTEN. THEY THOUGHT KIDS SHOULD BE SEEN, YET THEIR SOULS NEVER HEARD.THANK YOU BUCKSHOT, BLACK MOON AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO HELPED GIVE US BACK OUR VOICE. YOUR OLD-SCHOOL LYRICS TEACH US HOW TO BE REAL WOMEN AND BETTER MEN... LIKE ED OG AND THE BULLDOGS ,"BE A FATHER TO YOUR CHILD. I COULD GO ON AND ON*
*I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO DRESS/ PRESENT MYSELF. NYC, REAL HIP HOP TAUGHT ME, DANCE SHOWS, AND NEW JACK. HIP HOP EVEN INFLUENCED MY LOOK TO THIS DAY*
*THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD IN HIP HOP , NOT THE DARKNESS AND WICKEDNESS, BUT THE GOOD*
*THANK YOU TO THE FEW THAT PUT PEOPLE ON WITHOUT EXPLOITING THEM, EMASCULATING THEM AND WRECKING LIVES AND MASCULINITY*
