Got AeroGarden for Christmas and just found your channel. In less than 2 weeks I can’t believe how fast they are sprouting. Will be watching your channel for tips!
Have you had any issues with any POD not growing? My Mint hasn't germinated. Everything else looks great! Not sure that my herbs will be as big as the ones in this video on the 25th day (I didn't set it up for a few days after I got it home).
@@nplindgren I also got my AeroGarden for Christmas and my mint is growing like crazy! I’m actually about to do my first pruning (hence the reason I’m here 😄). I have seen other people say that some of their pods didn’t sprout, but if you contact the company, they will happily replace it free of charge.
@@NubianP6 glad to hear everything is going well with your garden! I can't believe how big everything has gotten, with the exception of the mint. I contacted Aerogarden and they're sending out a new pod. They made it super easy.
I am on day 28 with my Aerogarden, I just changed the water and pruned/harvested my basil. Your dill is growing crazy fast compared to mine and all my plastic hoods are removed now.
I am on day 33 thought my dill looked crazy till I saw this video and now I feel like maybe I should wait longer. Genovese basil looks good but unsure when it will be ready.
So you're saying that when you cut the long spindly stems off at the base, this stem will not grow back, but a new stem will grow out the center of the plant, correct?
In your video you say not to let the dill get too close to the light because the UV will burn it. But in the AeroGarden website FAQs, it says: "Do LED lights give off UV rays? No, AeroGarden LED grow lights do not emit any UV rays. AeroGarden Grow Lights emit a full spectrum of light to encourage healthy, fast plant growth." Please explain. Thank you.
My dill seems to have grown too high - many of the stalks go at least a full foot up before any leaves jut out. Is there something I can do now or did I just start pruning too late?
I'm a newbie and waiting for my dill to germinate. How many seeds of dill did you leave in your pod after it germinated, or did this lovely plant come from just one seed? TIA for the information.
Hi, Scott, thanks for this, it's very helpful :) Can I ask: I put 4 dill plants in mine (along with one Genovese basil, and one chive... I *really* love dill) and am just wondering if you think it would be okay to prune them earlier than day 25? Mine are on day 23 so it's not too different - but I daren't risk traumatizing them by pruning too early. Thanks again so much. I hope you and yours are keeping safe.
@@ScottDawson Thank you so much! Can I ask one more question, please? Mine seem to have dark green leaves that look a little like claws (?) and then the lighter green fronds... are the "claws" edible, too? I just pruned one and tasted it and it was kind of bitter. Not very dill-tasting, at all.
Why does my dill keep falling over? It will not stand up? Right now I am using cardboard to keep the dill plant upright. What can I do? Did I do something wrong? Thank you.
Mine are a little over 2” tall and had the same thing. The dill was almost laying down. I saw another video where they used toothpicks to prop up the stems so I am trying that. The plants are way too small to trim.
Got two aero-gardens and started with tomato plants. They each have more than twenty small tomatoes. I also have green peppers and one dill plant, which has only five stocks, which fall over easily. They are green and look healthy otherwise, but I think I need to get it to proliferate more. Oh, a friendly suggestion...it's pronounced erbs, the "H" is silent. Anyway, thank you very much for your channel. I need to learn a lot more about herbs. I think I'll just go with dill, and cilantro this next time around. The tomato plant grew taller than the garden and grew big. I don't have a back yard, so just herbs.
For the impatient, start at 4:49.
Wish I had read your comment first!!!😅

My lovely husband gave me an Aerogarden for Christmas and I just found your channel! Thank you for your helpful advice.
Glad to hear that you found it useful! Thank you so much for watching!
So exciting! Your first harvest!
Yes! Thank you! I think in a few more days I'll be overrun with herbs!
Glad it actually showed how to do it. Thanks.
4:50 if you’re actually here to trim dill.
I just harvested my dill! Thanks for your help!!!
Fantastic!

Hi Scott, I just found you and subscribed!! Just got an AeroGarden in December so your tips are very helpful!! Thank you!!
Welcome aboard!
@@ScottDawson thanks!!
Nice to see you cutting the dill. My update is up. Come check it out. Tell me what you think.
I'll take a look!

Basically, yeah
I thought you were James VanderBeek! Great videos!
AWESOME video! I was just looking how to prune my dill, BUT after seeing how HUGE yours are I think ill wait a bit haha
Impressive! How many seeds of dill did you plan to grow that dill? Great video!!

I did some quick research and it seems that while LED lights typically do contain UV, the AeroGarden ones are specifically designed not to produce any
i planted small plant with tall plants and you are not supposed to move the light tunil every plant catches up, how do you prune when to tall?
My dill seems to have grown too high - many of the stalks go at least a full foot up before any leaves jut out. Is there something I can do now or did I just start pruning too late?
Thanks! Watched them all. When did you clean and change out your water in your AeroGarden? Did you just add 2 capfuls to the new water?
My dill fell over and nowgrows sideways. It has one spindly stem, from which the others grow, and it's not strong enough to hold it up.

I just let them all grow. Thanks for watching!
Starts from 2:05
I’m at 21 days and my dill looks NOTHING like this. Should I be worried?
I really like that apron. What brand is it? Where did you get it? Thanks!
I grabbed it from Amazon. Here't the link - geni.us/UveLYt
My dill is falling. What should I do? I’ve been growing for 21 days.
Have you trimmed it yet?

Will take a look!

Don't give yourself cataracts with that light...
