And it's diabolical how all the maritime industry is long gone. Where you went on the bike, past the top section of the old Gelibrand lighthouse used to be just industry. Dutch dredges were floating every where. Reminds me I should dig up the old family slides and donate em to the historical mob or the mob that provide public acc3ss to photoos
@@patappleton6285 Contact the State Library - Victoria for unwanted historical photos ... they'll take them ! They do still fit out Australian Naval ships via BAE Systems in Williamstown !
@@urbanaerialexplorer1885 IT used to be a seedy neighbourhood you couldn't walk the streets at night. It's sad the industry is all gone , so much employment, gone, so much history gone, ....
Another great video. I'm reminded the state library might be the place to send old photos. I'm also reminded as you rode down Nelson place of our weekend ritual at the milk bar of a Two In One icecream and can of coke on the way to the ol steam ferry next to the power station to go to the boats on Sth Wharf .
Aaaah Willy Beach! I'm having flashbacks of sunburn, swallowing salt water , and the drive home in sandy wet shorts. I did tai chi in that building in the 90's. Yet I lived in Mt.Eliza. it's all coming back now......the place stunk of the Werribe sewerage farm when the wind changed, dunno how it became trendy,..........maybe for those of non functioning synus .
It looks diabolical seeing Willy so packed with traffic. In the olden days it was like a bush town.
They have crammed them in now with new apartment towers everywhere at the east end - Quite the trendy place now and expensive !

Loved two in one ice creams - especially when at school and a friend would poll our coins to get one !
@@urbanaerialexplorer1885 Today's Choc Wedge is similar but nothing beats the two sticks.
@@patappleton6285 You can get two in ones at Woolworths and my son and I often share one for dessert - two sticks are great !
