Nostalgia's a heavy hitter... 2.0 is better in nearly every way but I do miss the open, vast zones... the ones in 2.0 are unnaturally dense, imo. Also the music ;_;
@@john_7000 Oh yeah, "follow the glowing dot on the map" 14 we have now is so much better. Soulless slop. Instead of FFXI 2, we got WoW 1.5 because of dipshits like you.
+ShadowNekomimi 2.0 not even close in character graphics, sounds or animations. with or without opinion. remember 2.0 is a gimped version of 1.0 and 1.0 was unfinished still in alpha with a almost no beta time, launch was set before the game hit beta..
Remember sound tracks work as emotional boosters? If game is well received, I'm pretty sure most will praise its sound track in addition to the good quality. But if impression is negative, music will only boost negative impression; if the sound track is awesome, it only boosts disappointment further - Why you have such good sound track with such trash game? You don't deserve this. I think its the impression that 1.0 made during first launch which, imo, was not supposed to even be in Alpha testing gave everybody a reason to bash 1.0 as hard as possible while overlooking the good side. Simply because it is always far easier and comfortable to blame and externalize problems. Just think about it, in current FF14 you can only do three things: Grind everything to level MAX, do Main Story Quests, do Savage difficulty raid. PVP, imho, is beyond boring but if you prefer, that's number four but not everyone likes PVP. Also, what does Grand Companies do? They do unlock some interesting content but none of them are self sustaining on their own. There is no competition and lack of incentive of sticking together to form a strongly bonded company (I don't mean they don't exists, its just difficult to exist - there is no common interests that bond the company together). More importantly, events are getting old school. I still remember the closing event of 1.0; you get stories that everyone have, battles in cities, etc. If they can support that type of event, add objective to give it some difficulties (yes I know someone won't like it, but one cannot please everyone) and, perhaps, influences future Main Story Quest progression.... I'll stop my imagination here, imo, 1.0 had a great start despite its initial failure, its just beyond sadness that none of them survived and made it into 2.0 and onward.
7:29 wait you are a combat class but it looks like a gathering node is showing up on your mini-map. I wonder if those showed up on the map regardless of class back then.
+Alva the Wayfarer The current graphics are easier to run. But I would still liked to have seen an option to turn the graphics up to the v 1.0 settings.
+Alva the Wayfarer There are several things that I noticed that made the game more difficult to run originally. First, the characters used to have a little bit of physics in thier animations. Like when he starts and stops running. Second, there don't appear to be any zone lines. The whole city is one zone. Third, the textures are much higher resolution than what is in the game currently.
I almost died when he took the stairs down from the Drowning Wench and it wasn't a zone. O.O
I will never miss the 1.0 zone design... but the musics didn't reeaaaally have to change.

I miss this music!!
oh god no zones o.o...
i still really miss the shaders and stopping anim
felt weighty
While I get the why, looking at this makes me understand why some people miss it, and kinda regret not being able to try and play during it
This is exactly how i want Limsa Plaza to be, actually looks like people could sit there
I miss the seamless world of 1.0.
Oh yeah have fun in a bland world with nothing to do, this game failed because of that
@@john_7000 I mean I agree with you about 1.0 being outdated but I don't think you understand what amdefender meant by "seamless"
Eh it wasnt completely seamless either. And also the servers couldnt even handle the maps of 1.0 it would crash constantly
ah yes that seamless half mile loading zone path between the city and the outside

so much soul
Love this song , it's now my mansion song ATM
cant wait for the update
Turned out pretty good :)
I mean I prefer limsa the way it is now
If you’re still around by any chance, would you be able to tell us what you think of the game now?
@@bentwomey384 it's even better for what my friends told me, I tried to get back in to it but just can't.
mmm. reminds of bastok a bit, i love it :D the new one isnt bad, i just prefer this one
Hahaha people opinion are trash
The Music Now is far superior. Both day and night themes are wonderful.
you are not correct.... 1.0 had the best soundtrack in any final fantasy game
Isaias Classen Everybody to their own opinion, I personally prefer 2.0

i liked that music better :-( they could have used that theme and added to it a bit.
Hi from endwalker
Me again lol... ya know old Limsa looked a lot like new limsa just.... less flushed out if that makes sense o.o

They showed up regardless of job/class!
I think I remember this still being possible in ARR, before they streamlined the class/job system in Heavensward.
It’s a ghost town
It would be pretty cool if they would add an option to use v 1.0 graphics and physic settings for those who have the gaming rig to handle it.

+AstroFizzix thats weird. how the graphics got better after a while but also easier to run

+AstroFizzix they downgraded the texture quality? thats very strange
no people
So empty. Is this that emulator project I heard about?
No this video was from when the servers had shut down at the end of 1.0 then reopened for a few weeks. I don't think I ever came across anyone.
