- I spent 5 days at Rishikesh going around temples, Yoga Ashrams, exploring food, enjoying river rafting, participated in Ganga Arti, Sunrise at Kunjapuri temple and much more.

Depending upon availability of time at your end, you may also look at exploring: Bharat Ashram, Bhoot nath temple, Beatles Ashram, Trambkeshwar temple, Geeta Bhawan, Swarg Ashram. Apart from this there are n number of Yoga training centers and ashrams spread all over Rishikesh.
After all Rishikesh is Yoga capital of the world.
Tips to Travel in Rishikesh - Uttarakhand:
Rafting: Start before 12 noon and have food before you go for rafting.
Arti at Parmarth: It starts at 5.30 Pm, many tourists are not aware about the timing, they reach rate.
Triveni Ghat: Reach there by 6 Pm you will love the Bhajans before and after the Arti.
Bungee jumping: Book in advance.
Vashisht Gufa: Its closed between 1 to 3 pm. This is not a picnic spot, go there only if you are serious about meditation.
Sunrise at Kunjapuri: Distance is 25 km but its uphill, it will take at least 1 hour to reach this place. Target to reach 30 minutes before sunrise. Like on 9th April 2017 sunrise time was 5.50 am. I reached there at 5.30 am for complete experience.
Neer waterfall: It is a hidden gem of Rishikesh- There are two waterfalls there, you can travel to the first one by road and for 2nd one - you will need to walk 500 meters which is uphill through a passage made through rock.

Rishikesh is really a gem of a place in uttarkhand it is the land of both spirituality and adventure. Government and people should respect it and take care of it.
you are so right. One more thing worth mentioning- one needs to spend 5 to 6 days at Rishikesh to truly explore and city.
I have traveled to Rishikesh 6 to7 times before but this was the 1st time when I saw Arti at Parmarth Niketan and Arti at Triveni ghat- what a peace you get there, there is no parallel.

Balli ji truly Rishikeshs in the Yoga place.. Beside the Towers of Shri Nellkanth Shiv ji is Devine place.💕.. With the Rushing Water of the 3 Rivers we have mett with the will monkey and the Goat facinat with the Cow sleeping on the Laxhman jula Brige. We also saw some Rafter in the water. Then we went to Haridware for the Arthi of Ganga Maa ji,, it like a dream come true for me perhap one day I will be able to do the Gangotri Dham Yatra too., I was with you in every step of the Yatra, it a wonderful dream you made it come true for me.. I also want to visit Vhisno Devi Mandir before I die,, with the Jellam River. Sir ji we can only think and dream of our great great grand parents lands but see it trought your eyes,,Thank you Soooooo muchhhhh 🙏🙏🙏🙏😘😘😘🍁🌷🍁for this delightful jurney,

that's so great.... why don't you plan Auli? if you have time at your disposal .... My father went there some 30 yeas back and even today he praises snow time at Auli.. though i am not sure Dec or jan for Auli but yes someday i would love to go there

My Bhabhi's 7mamaji lives in rishikesh . They have shops near parmarth niketan. First shop after crossing laxman jhula. And more after that
