Amazing win man!! Lake Fork Giants for sure!!! PB and biggest bag in one tourney woww!! I thought that 11+ pounder was gonna break his rod for a second there! I would love to fish lake fork! Fish on!!
Over 100 pounds in a 4 day event, 5 fish per day is huge. That’s an average of 5 pounds per fish. Very tough to do, so for an angler to win and dominate like Brandon Cobb did was impressive.
He threw a jerkbait on a point where fish were schooling on baitfish. That fish was hooked outside the mouth but not by way of visually sight fishing the bass. Which means the fish is ok to count.
If a fish is accidentally snagged while fishing and not specifically looking at a fish it is considered a legal catch. Fish swiped at a lure, nothing intentional from Brandon Cobb.
PLEASE READ!! All the comments about snagged fish, these guys are not sight fishing and snagging them on purpose. They are fishing a reaction bait and the bass are swiping at the lure. This is legal!
The rules state that you can't intentionally snag or foul-hook a bass, keyword in that being intentionally. Jeremy is referring to snagging fish while sight fishing; "Mike Long".
@@jonk.4384 Is that the rule for all tournaments? For some reason i thought hooking outside the mouth even on accident meant it had to be thrown back. I always thought it was a bit unfair. Thanks for the info
isnt it just luck in the end that a good fish bites ? i mean ok for the reel in part is kinda skill based, but what if you are just unlucky that only smaller ones bite.
You know what? I would love for there to be a real life adaptation of the classic video game that is called The Black Bass and that a show like this one could be involved in making that movie.
That's actually a result of spawning. When they make their beds, often times they relate to a piece of structure. When they are waving their tails for a couple days consecutively and while gaurding the bed they actually rub themselves sore in relation to that cover.
Illegally hooked fish shouldn't count.. they dont for state records so why would they in bass masters.. there called masters for a reason they should have to hook them properly in order to count it personal opinion
Clay Pollock Because you qualify through the opens and when you’re there you work a normal job. The opens pay pretty damn well if you’re towards the top (which you’ve gotta be to ever qualify for the elites). Then the payouts at this level are way better than that even and you keep performing well. If you cash a check at every tournament you’ll be totally fine money wise
Biggest issue with catch and release is that if you know where the big one are, then it's almost cheating. Just catch and release the same 5 fish all three days(however long the tourn. Is) and win. Still have to catch them but come on, I was able to condition and catch the same fish at the same spot with the same bait for over a week.
@@heathfitzgerald363 I'm sorry you're not able to, but catching the same fish in it's home the next day is the easiest thing you can do with bass. During non-breeding season they don't move around much and they set up a territory
Lakes are different here in Louisiana Lakes like Toledo bend and darbonne which are my home lakes it's just about impossible to catch any fish the day after u catch them the first time
dang I love this sport and love it how the lake fork community takes care of its fish
Sport.. You said that
lol sport
Glad to see Lake fork still has it!!! Great fishery with many opportunities for anglers!!
I would love to see them continue this system of weighing the fish on the boat and releasing them quickly
Why not spread the rule about weighing the fish at the boat and then releasing them all but one. A lot less stress overall I betcha by golly wow! LOL
MLF
That makes the fish smarter just eat em

“Not a giant but a 5 pounder”💀💀💀
wow craziest coincidence. I just clicked into a random point of this video and as I read your comment the guy said that.
Lake fork has always been a lake of beasts. One of the best lakes to fish in Texas. Lake Athens also has some huge large mouth bass
Hell Yea bro, Awesome catch !
Great vid, Tuned for more content, God bless you brotha ! 🎣 🤍
wait... snagged fish count??
I love these 45min episodes. When are u guys making more?
They do these at the end of the year.
When did they start allowing fowl hooked bass to count?
Best hosts in bass tournaments! Great coverage!
Looking forward to June 5-9! See you all at Lake Fork!
Does a foul hooked bass count ?
Congrats Brandon!
man i love that stained water color too. so much easier to fish
The best video in the World 🤠🤠🤠
Can someone explain how this is competitive ? Or how it takes skill?

Brandon Cobb snagged his bass on first clip. Is that legal to do?

Anyone else notice keith combs almost knocking stetson blaylocks hat off at 1:20😂😂😂😂
thought a foul hooked fish wasn't allowed to be weighed.
Only if sight fishing.
Only if they're sight fishing and doing it intentionally
josh stewart agree with you dude, looked to me like he was trying to foul hook whatever.
They’re supposed to be released immediately in Texas. If he had put it in the livewell, he’d be getting a visit from a game warden lol
josh stewart when sight fishing and in California a fish hooked outside the mouth has to be released
"I don't kiss them" Well no one kisses them like Jimmy Houston anyways.
Haven’t been fishing in years. Makes me want to get my license and go out before the summer is over.
Do it, today no excuses. Fishing withdrawal is real
Thank you!!!
How can you criticize these guys for getting excited? If you’ve never been on this stage with a camera in your boat you can’t talk.
Do they return bed fish to the beds? May be a dumb question but I'm just curious cause I know a lot of tournament anglers seek out bed fish.
Thank you for the upload Bassmaster!!!! #blueandgold
5:51 how is that a legal catch when he caught it via a snag?
If a fish is accidentally snagged while fishing and not specifically looking at a fish it is considered a legal catch. Fish swiped at a lure, nothing intentional from Brandon Cobb.
Jonathan Nutt Doesn't mean it's intentional though
Learn the rules...it's legal if unintentional, and it pays the same.
The rules are the same for everyone else, play to win.
PLEASE READ!! All the comments about snagged fish, these guys are not sight fishing and snagging them on purpose. They are fishing a reaction bait and the bass are swiping at the lure. This is legal!
It's called jealousy. If it's ok with the rules it's a catch and it pays the same.
Wow like Falcon lake, great battle
Keren good job my frend👍👍
Are these fish that big or are they just short
What about falcon lake in falcon hights or Zapata tx the smallest i have ever caught is 4 lbs lol
Because if you go in the wrong cove you can get shot lol

Who do you all think will be the next big star on The BassMaster trail!?
Drew cook looks like a MLF referee 🤣
Does the guy keep saying 5lber?? and its actually more then double that
It was a running joke in their boat. He knew it wasn't a 5
Looked up competitive fishing competition and sure enough, it’s real.
Pretty much bass only, no bobber and catching catfish on worms😂
I thought foul hooked fish don't count?
Only if u looking at except in California

Jon explained it right but in California if it hooked outside the mouth it's not legal
40:12 Cory had that bed fish hooked outside the mouth.
Wow they got insane gear and setup. Me just one tackle box and two rod and I'm doing offshore.. I'm such a noob amateur lol
Ahhhh, the days before it was just watching guys watching a screen... back when guys actually put the pattern together to catch fish.
“Wow that’s a five pounder” try doubling that dip stick
Brandon Cobb made an assumption that it was a 5 before he hooked and landed the fish. That's why the guy in the background made the joke

Close your eyes for this part
🤭u know it’s a bigin when u set hook and it looks and feels like u just stuck a log o god‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Doesn't this hurt the fish?
Not one bit
Unfortunately Lake Fork doesnt have half the lunkers it did 10 years ago.

we need a Complete Angler Award for the guys who properly release a Bass not just throw it in the water " Roland Martin"
I agree! I'm a tree hugger too btw. :-)

@@paxhumana2015 well try fishing in my river then, I'll bet you that can't catch 1 fish!
Foul hooked
It aint a catch if you just snag it by the gill with a treble hook
Only in your eyes...pays the same.
It’s also not intentional, they’re swiping and missing. It’s extremely obvious that’s what’s happening but whatever
pull a fish out the water you caught it plain and simple
I understand the get excited sometimes but when they start screaming and hollering when they catch one is very annoying.
That’s a 5 pounder
8 lb cull... wow. That's 8 ounces more than the biggest fish I've ever caught
Pro Master Baiters
mantap brandon cobb
Always have to scream fucksakes! Scaring the fish away haha
11 + lbs ...... the rest looked like minnows !
Fun fact: You searched up pro fishing
One thing I'm noticing is the fishes health.
They're all starting to have these nasty sores all over them.

Fber He’s not sight fishing and not intentionally doing it. It’s pretty clear it’s not intentional
Fish snagging should be illegal.
