He explained in the video that by slow he meant he was slower with crafting then he should be. (As someone who is starting to sweat UHC, the crafting was way, way too slow for any wr, man got so lucky) The misclicks, the crafting, and the poor decisions were all things that costed him 30+ seconds. Man couldve had a way faster time. I wanna make it clear though, im not shitting on him. I dont speedrun i get that there is pressure and shit. He did great. Just hoping if he attempts future runs, that he will work on this few things.
Goes to show that micro-mechanics only affect the small 1-2% time difference which will eventually be necessary to hold the WR but for now, pure number management and attention to macro-mechanics makes MASSIVE time shaved off attempts.

Minecraft speedrunning is about persistence, consistency, and total strategy. Nitpicking about minor technical details doesn't make too much sense. The greatest technical minecraft speedrunner in the world will lose to the guy with the good overall strat who does 50x as many runs to get a perfect seed.

This is a new stronghold ‘triangulation’ strat using the location and angle of nether fossils. Sure, slight element of RNG, but way less than normal blind travel because he knows the exact angle the stronghold will be in.
It's actually about trying to maximize luck required and time. While it's technically possible for you to dig down and find an exposed stronghold like x did, you waste more time getting that luck. So you rather waste a little of time on less ramdonmess but not too much.
its not total rng, think of it like rubik's cubes, sometimes you get luckier and don't have to do some combos, but if you dont know the combos you have no chance

Every wr is going to inherently be lucky, like that's literally the point is to get a lucky seed and lucky drops yet when it happens people say it's "just lucky".

All that happens when they pause is either chunk loading, analysing an image, or doing math. If the rules currently state that paused time doesn't count towards the final run time, why would you not use that to your advantage? If the rules were different and the paused time did count then there would be far less pausing than what exists but I don't think the record is less impressive just because they maximise the rules to their advantage.
Yet when people watch sports they will call players on the team they support bad when they make a mistake but when xqc points out things that could have saved time everyone says you do it🤷♂️

it is slow though, just because the actual time is super fast doesn't mean it can't be faster. had he had the average spawn that people get with their runs it probably wouldn't be as fast, but this man spawns right next to a bastion, then immediately ends up in the stronghold. xqc is only pointing out things that could make it faster. he's not implying he could do them faster, he just knows how they can.

When I started playing Minecraft, I didn’t know what a stronghold is. But I spawned in a village above one I dug down the well and found the stronghold but didn’t know the importance. When I searched and came to know about it, I started digging every time I saw a well in every mew Minecraft world 😂😂, but never found one again.
This is precisely why I don't understand Minecraft speedruns. Why would you dedicate years of time and energy getting godlike at Minecraft, when you could be absolutely owned by somebody who got super lucky??? It makes no sense.
Most of the speedrunners are friends so it’s like a “friendly” competition and minecraft speedruns are literally about luck. If they don’t spawn in a village they reset, if they don’t see lava they reset and so on.
If it weren’t based primarily on luck, it would not receive as much attention. But because of the rng dependency, it shouldn’t retain its popularity. Basically carried by streamer and nostalgia.

it is slow though, just because the actual time is super fast doesn't mean it can't be faster. had he had the average spawn that people get with their runs it probably wouldn't be as fast, but this man spawns right next to a bastion, then immediately ends up in the stronghold.
xqc is only pointing out things that could make it faster. he's not implying he could do them faster, he just knows how they can.

@@pinks7632 if you find bones blocks at 0,0 nether you can use their position to calculate where the stronghold is. They use the same variables to generate in the world
That is just good calculation and game knowledge. The lucky part is having a bastion and fortress so close to the portal.
I started watching the video, saw it wasn't in hd, clicked the button and put it on hd, then immediately see it's still in sd and xQc puts it to hd again! haha

When I started playing Minecraft, I didn’t know what a stronghold is. But I spawned in a village above one
I dug down the well and found the stronghold but didn’t know the importance. When I searched and came to know about it, I started digging every time I saw a well in every mew Minecraft world 😂😂, but never found one again.

This is precisely why I don't understand Minecraft speedruns. Why would you dedicate years of time and energy getting godlike at Minecraft, when you could be absolutely owned by somebody who got super lucky??? It makes no sense.
They do it for fun most of them are friends.
Most of the speedrunners are friends so it’s like a “friendly” competition and minecraft speedruns are literally about luck. If they don’t spawn in a village they reset, if they don’t see lava they reset and so on.
If it weren’t based primarily on luck, it would not receive as much attention. But because of the rng dependency, it shouldn’t retain its popularity. Basically carried by streamer and nostalgia.
If you actually dedicate years of time, you will eventually be this lucky, so I don't get what do u mean? The grinding process is part of the RSG Game. Go run the highly contested Any% Set seed glitchless catagory if u desire, it's a perfectly good category too
