Wilhelm II's Descendants

- It was February 27th 1881 when the then Prince Wilhelm of Prussia married Princess Augusta Victoria of Schleswig-Holstein. They would go on to become the last Imperial couple Germany has ever known. At the end of the first World War in november 1918, Wilhelm II, who had been on the German and Prussian throne for the last 30 years was forced to abdicate. Wilhelm and Augusta lived out the remainder of their lives in Exile in the Netherlands. Augusta dying in 1921 and Wilhelm 20 years later.
The last Imperial couple had a total of seven children. While I already covered all of their children in three separate videos, this video today will be a continuation on that topic as we look into the lives of Wilhelm and Augusta’s grandchildren and perhaps even great grandchildren.

Felipe VI of Spain is the only European monarch who is a direct descendant of Kaiser Wilhelm II
So was Constantine II, last king of the Hellenes.
@@shinjineesen400I think that he means currently sitting on the throne.
Yes, Sophie was the grand daughter of Viktoria Louise. Her father Paul was a son of The Kaiser's sister Sophie. Louis Ferdinand married Kira a granddaughter of Alfred, second son of Queen Victoria
En rey Felipe VI de España es biznieto del káiser Guillermo. Su madre la reina Sofía era nieta.
"Well! Pin a Rose on Your Nose"
My mother's family is descended from the Royal family of Saxony.
They are descended through a female line that were first cousins to the king.
They lost their privileges after WW1 and what little was left of their property after WW2.
My great-grandmother, the last one to be born before their title and privileges were lost, worked as a nurse alongside my grandfather who was a physician.
Doesn't mean much today but it is an interesting part of family history.
People often ask what it is like being royalty but I correct them by saying I am "DESCENDED" from royalty but not royal.
Titles could not be passed down through the female line and the throne or kingdom of Saxony no longer exists.
I do too
Is the royal family of Saxony related to the British royal house of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha?
You might find interesting a you tube channel called "useful charts" and also listen to the one that explains Female DNA only all royal families called Garsenda and trace all the female Garsenda lines that are Saxony It's interesting 🤔 and fun to learn about it revelations about family members 😮
@@EAlyahya Yes. It used to be the name of the British Royal Family. It was the name of Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria.King George V, changed the Family name to Windsor.
@@EAlyahya actually the British royal family is coming from the house of Hanover.
Queen Sophie of Spain was named after her paternal grandmother, Princess Sophie of Prussia (1870 - 1932) concert of King Constantine I of Greece. She was one of the Kaiser’s younger sisters & one of Queen Victoria’s twenty one granddaughters.
A fascinating look at the Kaiser's grandchildren and what became of them between the wars and after. Thank you for doing all the research and digging up those evocative photos!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Well, the Spanish Queen Emerita Sofia's mother was a granddaughter of Kaiser Wilhelm II so that makes her, her son King Felipe VI and his own daughters descendend from the Kaiser!
If the monarchy were not abolished in Germany, Georg Friedrich Ferdinand of Prussia, born 10 June 1976 would be Kaiser now. His father was Louis Ferdinand, Prince of Prussia (1944-1977), his grandfather was crownprince Wilhelm of Prussia (1882-1951) and his great grandfather was Kaiser Wilhelm II (1859-1941).
For me, he is already Kaiser.
Christian Albrecht was Frederick III
Crown Prince Georg Frederich and his spouse Princess Sophie have a beautiful family .Be nice to bring back as a Constitutional Monachy .Long live the Kaiser.
I think you missed a generation there. His grandfather was also called Louis Ferdinand; and died in 1994 according to Wikipedia. Prince Georg Friedrich's father died young, so he took over from his grandfather as the formal head of the House of Hohenzollern at a very young age. It's a bit confusing, father and grandfather of the same name; and the younger dying before the older. 😞 The _great-grandfather_ was that crown prince Wilhelm von Preußen.
@@renatewest6366I agree
The current Duchess of Wellington is Princess Antonia of Prussia
Thank you for your work and effort to bring to us such historical facts. Greetings from Greece!
Thanks for watching! Greetings back
Kaiser William ll was a first cousin of the Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain, as both were grandchildren of Queen Victoria. This Queen of Spain was King Felipe VI of Spain's great grandmother.
Not quite sure if you know that Felipe‘s mother (Queen Sofia) is descendant of Kaiser Wilhelm. Queen Sofia is the Great-granddaughter of Kaiser Wilhelm. Her mother (Queen Frederica of Greece) was the granddaughter of the Kaiser.
Felipe is descendant from the Kaiser on both sides, maternal and paternal. 😣
There are antiamerican anthellenic anti British anti this anti that. Why should I be persecuted and even prosecuted for anti Jewish protests?
Really enjoyed this
I always called Down Syndrome "The Pretty Disease" because of the big wide set eyes, the smoothness of their skin and as they age they are not prone to wrinkles, they have wider set tongues so they are smiling all the time. They look very beautiful to me. Both males and females afflicted with the disease. A lot of them at first glance you can't tell. I guess it's just me idk
A few days ago King Charles iii was meeting with the descendants of some of these people.
(@ 2:28, the fellow on the viewer's left, wearing the striped tie, is a ringer for one of the Windsors.)
Yes, looks like Charles the third.
Muchas Gracias por compartir tan completa informacion de los descendientes de Guillermo II.
I learn so much from watching your viedos
Excellent! Thanks
I love German royalty a lot and I want more of royal videos please ❤😊
Great job with the video beautiful. I support the Resurrection of the monarchy.

@@crusader2112 Hello, brother. Long time-Now see.
@@savagedarksider2147 Hello 👋🏻 Good to see you.
@@crusader2112 I wish we would have had more interacts between Queen Elizabeth II and Otto Von Habsburg.
@@savagedarksider2147 Indeed and I wish the European Union was an organization worthy of Europe and of the Habsburg name.
The picture of Friedrich is that of Henry 'Chips' Channon rather than Friedrich. Chips Channon was a friend of his and Friedrich married Channon's sister-in-law.
Ydcmu
Good spot; I was going to make the same point!
Indeed he was very probably closer to Chips than just friendship.
Kirby Patterson was an attorney employed by the US Department of Justice in the Criminal Division. When I also worked there in the 1970s, I knew him. What stories he told! Patterson was an ordinary guy from Missouri who wore string ties. Who would have thought? His wife, was trained as a nurse. He did not talk much about his German royal relatives beyond tales of staying at castles when he visited Germany. Totally nice guy.
Wow, that is so interesting! Thanks for commenting!
Glad you left no one out.
Very very good
Are you sure that photo is of Friedrich? It looks very like Henry “Chips “ Channon to me. Chips had been married and divorced from Brigid Guinness’ sister.
fun fact, theoretically all of em are on the line of succession to the british throne
Provided they aren't Roman Catholic
@@pedanticradiator1491 Plus the UK does not have morganatic marriages. The German Imperial Family required equal marriages (both parties of royal birth). As I remember, one of Wilhelm's children married a non-royal.
And none of them are the Chauffeur's son nor are they married to a black.
The crownprince son of the last emperor had a lot of children out of wedlock. Ge cheated badly in his wife. He luved solo for a whole in exile o the eiland called Wieringen. There is a documentary called De kroonprins van Wieringen - The crownprince of Wieringen. A very interesting docu.
I thought that was John Stewart.
The pageantry
Adalbert married a Saxe Meiningen cousin who suffered from Porphyria
Victoria Marina suffered too.
So if Princess Louise married Prince Paul does that mean current King Charles is related through that line also?
Was George related to his wife?
Which George?
@@pedanticradiator1491 the son of Victoria Loiuse
They were third cousins through Queen Victoria and second cousins through Christian IX
@@BackToHistoryYT thank you
His he the cousin of King George and Czar Nicholas?
Nicholas II's wife Alexandra and George V were amongst his many first cousins. Nicholas himself was more of a distant cousin of Wilhelm.
Let's hear about Carl Christian Mathey, Kaiser Wilhelm II's bastard son he had with Princess Radziwill (which was also the Kaiser's cousin).
I can see resemblance between King Charles III and some of the descendants of Kaiser Wilhelm II. Interesting.
Casa de Concreto Minimalista
Frederick who married Bridget Guinness was the father of Antonia mother of Arthur Wellesley, who married Gemma Kidd.
Didn't Queen Frederika look like our Queen!
Friedrich Wilhelm is my 4 x great grandfather

This video was not very well done, as it is quite confusing.
@honestlyyours1069: What’s confusing? It’s laid out well but it may be too confusing for someone with limited capacity.
See also: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Hohenzollern#Members_of_the_family_after_abdication. That should give a fairly comprehensive list.
👒🤚
Wilhelm and Augusta were 2nd parents as their grandmothers were sisters and their Moms were 1st cousins.
He had a pretty family
It's said vilhelm
His kids been better off if they had went to collage
