B-29 Superfortress 𝘋𝘰𝘤 at New Century, KS

The B-29 Superfortress, named "Doc", from Wichita, KS flew in for a tour at New Century AirCenter, near Olathe and Gardner. As it was about to give a ride to paying customers, it apparently had a problem with the number 3 engine. After about an hour and a half of work, it was good to go. Enjoy!

Dad was combat camera and flew with the B29s in the Pacific. He brought back a bunch of photos of nose art, 'FiFi' was one, but I don't remember seeing 'Doc', my sister has those now, along with pictures of the islands and a few overheads of Japan.
The only story he told me, and I tend to mention it every time I come across one of these videos, was about one of the crews more unusual routines. The first crewmember who used the 'latrine', such as it was, had to empty and clean it when the mission was over. This led to hours of discomfort until someone finally caved in, which led to the rest of the crew rushing to the back and causing the pilots to crank up the trim to adjust for the shifting weight. I mean, dad wouldn't have any reason to exaggerate to me, right?
