    I just got my winnings today and when I opened the package I definitely smell leather but after smelling the glove surface I don't get any smell. After close examination I found out that the leather smell comes from the palm side. Therefore I'm 99% sure that winning uses synthetic leather on the hitting surface and real leather on the palm.

      Appreciate it brotha! I’m just a boxing head and love the equipment that goes with it. If you dig deep enough you can find pros and cons to every type of gear, I’ve met people who LOVE Reyes and can’t afford winning or intend to use them. Then there’s people that won’t touch anything but winning. Then there’s people who are Grant fanatics. Then there’s guys who could care less about the brand and won’t spend more than $80 for gloves but are badass boxers/ fighters. 😂 in the end, it’s really subjective and up to the user. I definitely appreciate the support, the “leather” on winning gloves has always been debatable and a grey area, doesn’t make them less of great gloves, but at least we know what we’re getting right?

      Its possible that they've changed the type of leather to cut down on expenses. I ordered some 14oz winnings from Rakuten and im going to have to wait till like january for them to get shipped lol fml but hey I spent a little under 300. There have been some quality changes to winnings newest gloves (the new logo gloves) and they arent for the better

    Great video man , I’ve been thinking about getting the fly super loop x but I don’t know wether to get 14oz or 16 oz , I want a glove to spar with and hit the bag to , will the 14s still offer the protection and padding a 16oz glove would ? Or do you think they would hurt your sparring partner ? and is there still plenty room in the hands for the 14oz ?

    Question please - great review BTW. When I use many foam padded gloves they tend to glance off the heavy bag, whereas my Winning gloves tend to contact the bag better, stick the punch. I've had gloves bounce or glance off so bad they risked injury from lack of good contact. Do you have any feedback regarding that aspect of FLY vs Winning Thank you!

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  Рік тому +1

      Fly is slightly more rounded and firmer around the strike surface than winning. It also depends on your punch form, make sure you’re turning over and landing on your knuckles and not the rolled up fingers. With that being said, generally more softer foamed gloves or gloves with padding that flatten out on contact will usually give a much more contacted “feel” if that makes sense.

      Winning’s are definitely real leather, not microfiber synthetic, you can compare the folds of leather at the fingertip area, leather creases, microfiber synthetic kinda rolls, hard to describe but there’s definitely a difference. That being said, microfiber synthetic is definitely harder wearing and will last longer (plus no paint wearing off exposing the bottom leather), you’ll notice the winning wearing down to dark blue/black on parts like the thumb after 6mo or so of use

    Winning uses real leather on the punching surfaces, palmside and thumb as well. the tubeing and the seam beneath the thumb is synthetic leather (same materialas my groinguard) . As far as I can tell.. I have a pair of white winning ms600 from rakuten. And I can asure you my statement because I've been using them for 4 over 4 years. The white coloring has been comming off the sufaces where the friction and impact has been strongest. And you can clearly see the realleather grain and structure beneath it (pale, sandy color-ish) . Also I think it's a bit odd to compare wrist support between the two of them, because the lace up winnings (if properly done) should give you about the same support as those flys.

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  4 роки тому +5

      I agree somewhat, just because the closure system is different doesn’t make it a completely different glove. The padding in the velcro and lace up version (at the same weight of 14 ounces) is exactly the same. The same with the hand compartment. Only difference is one is lace up and one is velcro, so the lace up offers better wrist support and people prefer to use them for sparring so they don’t cut their partner. But to say they’re completely different gloves I don’t agree with, maybe preferred to be used for different types of training. There’s many sparring gloves out there that are velcro closure as well.
