    KD was the only reason the Nets Circus was even worth watching. That team was just full of drama: Nash’s coaching (worse than Darvin Ham?), Vaccine mandate, Harden quitting, Kyrie’s book, even Ben Simmons’ issue with the Sixers. The stories made more headlines than the games.

    100% FACTS STEPHEN A! These ignorant KD haters need to get a clue. The reality is that KD was not the problem in Brooklyn. Kyrie and Harden were. KD showed up and played his tail off every single game, even when things were going south. And he left because of the problems other people created in that organization.

      First of all, Steph A Smith actually believes every word he said. If you know anything about SAS, know'd know that he's a huge KD fan. So...
      And secondly, everything he said is completely true. KD was not the problem in Brooklyn. He put up great numbers. He showed up big time in 2021 when it mattered most. He missed 62% of his games with the Nets, but a whole season and half of that was due to that achilles. He showed up every game and played his best, even when Kyrie and Harden were causing all kinds of trouble.
      And that's that. So KD doesn't need to pay anyone to say anything about him, because this is the truth, and real basketball fans like SAS know what's up. They aren't ignorant haters like everyone else, living in some fantasy world where KD isn't the absolutely elite player that he is.

      He averaged 29, put up really great numbers (considering he had an achilles injury), and in fact, improved his overall stats after that injury, averaged 32 in the playoffs for the Nets, and showed up big time when it mattered most in 2021 against a fully healthy Bucks squad (honestly putting Giannis in his place and showing him who's better). Kyrie was injured and Harden was hobbled, and yet KD still kept them in that series and if not for his toe, would've sent the Bucks packing with almost no real help around him. Game 5 specifically is a master class. It's considered by many to be one of the greatest playoffs performances of all time. Many websites have it ranked as top 9 or 10 ever. KD, again with almost no help, nearly had a 50/17/10 game against a fully healthy Bucks and Giannis. Game 7 was also fairly impressive, as well.
      So did the Nets win anything? No. Injuries and a ton of other social issues and covid mandates and whatnot completely got in the way of that. Harden forced a trade for Ben Simmons and Ben Simmons refused to suit up against the Celtics (resulting in a sweep). But almost none of that lack of success had anything to do with KD. Kyrie missed 75% of 2022 because of a covid mandate (because he ignorantly refused to get a vaccine). Individually though, KD was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Just elite. And if KD had any help in 2021, he probably would've earned himself a ring.
      So at the end of the day, what you need to realize is that basketball is a team sport. And that means it comes down a whole group of people around the great players who all have to step up. And KD clearly did not have any help around him in 2021 or 2022. In 2021, everyone was injured and the bench wasn't the best. In 2022, the entire team was falling apart and Harden's replacement refused to play. So it really isn't the right question to ask "what did he do in Brooklyn?" because that team was never in position to win anything because of all the injuries and drama (again, none of which KD had anything to do with).
      What we should be asking is "how did he perform and how much did he contribute to that team's chances of winning anything?" And the answer to that is what SAS suggest in the video, if you had only watched it: KD contributed heavily in 2021. His performances in game 5 and game 7 were absolute masterclasses that in and of itself were ring-worthy. In fact, the way KD played in those games, if it was a finals matchup, would've easily earned him another Finals MVP. The way he played was just that good.
      So individually, KD did a lot for that team. But again, the team as a whole didn't win anything because a whole series of problems out of Durant's control.
      Any other questions?

      @@shaheemtaylor960
      You said "he didn't do anything spectacular in Brooklyn".
      This doesn't make sense, because you're clearly confusing team success with individual greatness. So again, even if the Nets as a whole didn't win anything, it doesn't mean KD didn't contribute anything meaningful on his end. Hell, go watch 2021 against the Bucks and come back yapping about how KD never did anything amazing in Brooklyn. On a decent team, his performance is an automatic ring.
      And everything else you babbled about how many games he played is dumb as hell. You do realize he had an achilles in the first season and half right? That kind of injury can't be blamed on someone, as if they had a normal knee problem or something. It's used to be a career-ending injury. So it's an exception to the rule.
      As for 2022, Bruce Brown was pushed into his legs. So that's not on KD. Any player would've been injured in that situation. And in 2023, Butler jumped onto KD's legs. Same thing as with Brown, any player would be injured by that.
      So I don't want hear anything else about KD -- injuries or whatever (it's ignorant and beside the point). I'm specifically attacking your claim about how "he didn't do anything spectacular" (when it was the Nets as a team that didn't do anything spectacular, not KD). So stay on topic.

    • @johnhill762
      @johnhill762 7 місяців тому

Because Harden forced a MID SEASON trade for Ben Simmons (who refused to play against the Celtics even though doctors said he was perfectly healthy). And Kyrie missed 75% of 2022 because he didn't want to get a vaccine.
      So, look. 2020, he's due due to the achilles. 2021, he's spectacular against the Bucks. And 2022, Kyrie didn't play most of the season and Harden forced his way out in the middle of the damn season, and his replacement (Trash Simmons) complained about pain that doctors couldn't explain and they showed up to that first round completely unfocused and dysfunctional as a unit.
      So how can you sit there with a straight face and say "what else did he do other than that one series?" LIKE THE TEAM WAS FUNCTIONING WELL ENOUGH ANY OTHER TIME??? Hell, it was barely functioning in THAT series!!!
      Just plain stupid thinking.
      At the end of the day, the flaw in your reasoning is that you're holding KD accountable (as a single superstar) for the problems of an entire team. And that makes no sense. That's like blaming Curry for the Warrior's current losing record!!! Just dumb.

      @@johnhill762 you do realize I didn’t count the first year KD missed with the bets right due to injury? You do realize he still missed a great chunk of games even if Bruce Brown was pushed into him right? You do realize the purpose of him going to Brooklyn was to win a championship right? You do realize him and the rest of the big 3 were barley on the court together right? All of them were equally hurt. One more time bring your head closer to the screen open your eyes wide read this KD IS A GREAT PLAYER HOWEVER HIS OVERALL TIME IN BK WASN’T SPECTACULAR THE REASON HE CAME TO BK WAS TO WIN A CHIP. his time in BK was just a pit stop. Unfulfilled expectations. Brooklyn Nets Durant time will be remembered as apart of a big 3 that didn’t work.

      It's not excuses. They're facts about the history of the Nets with the big 3. But you clearly don't a lot about what happened at the time. Clearly, you're a casual who just hears stuff on TV and runs away with the same narrative as everyone else.
      SAS knows his stuff.

    Show love for what? He demanded a trade TWICE!

    • @johnhill762
      @johnhill762 7 місяців тому

      And he didn't have good reasons to demand a trade? Was it okay when Harden didn't ask for a trade but instead FORCED one for Ben Simmons of all people? Does Harden get flak for that????? Does Kyrie get any blame for missing 75% of 2022 because he didn't want to get a vaccine????
      Be honest. That team was a dumpster fire around KD and he had every reason to want out. If you can't understand that, and it somehow hurts your feelings, then boo hoo. But honestly, no one gives a damn how you feel. Because a lot happened in Brooklyn that you clearly aren't taking into consideration.

      @@johnhill762 oh, I did watch the games and yeah I did see him score A two instead of three against the bucks. Did he play well while he was there and healthy. Yes, he’s Kevin Durant, but he bailed on them Without delivering on all the promise.
