Watching the boys going through the caves is some of the most entertaining episodes. I fondly remember all of the more difficult cave episodes. Great memories for me.
I think the reason people are saying you guys need to set a goal is that there doesn't really seem to be a "theme" for this playthrough. It appeared that there was one in the start with you guys finding random structures already built but that theme/story doesnt seem to be progressing at all. I think people are just seeing you guys aimlessly wandering around The Island, a map you've already attempted, so it just seems out of place compared to past maps. Like you had a tribe vs tribe, nomads, or when simon/dora had their bromance and raised an all Italian themed Rex army...or when you kicked Thick44 out of the tribe and his storyline was a solo gameplay...there doesn't seem to be a set theme or storyline for this playthrough, something I've noticed as well. I think it would have been cool to see you guys start the island in completely different biomes, like draw from a hat to see who gets Snow, Redwoods, Swamp and South Beach. It would have been funny to see 4 different storylines at once and see how you guys progress separately (Especially Simon 😂). And come together to get artifacts and fight bosses. A map I know your audience would love to see a full playthrough of is Survive The Night with zombie dinos. Like an Ark/7D2D mashup. Although I would recommend adding a mod to the map that spawns more variety of creatures/dinos (only thing i find lacking about this map). The more nights you stay the crazier the attacks get. That could be one of the most epic playthroughs on your channel!!!! Or perhaps do a playthrough where you can only build/live in tree platforms and tame flyers, no ground mounts allowed and you are forced to live up in the trees. This would be another great opportunity to download a flying creature mod to get more variety besides the basic Pteranodons, Argys etc. Like Pegasus, Dreadmare, Owl Griffin, Phoenix etc. Adding the Giant Creatures mod and/or Primal Nemesis mod would be excellent for this playthrough as well so smaller creatures you normally cannot ride like Featherlights or Dimorphodons are big enough to ride! Just a few suggestions that might spark some creativity for future playthroughs ❤ Love you guys and all your videos!
love this i was thinking the same, im sure they will find more direction this is the first map and it reminds me of when they started and had no direction other than get better and learn, the next map will bring more plans
The flyers only on it's own would be a good idea, also an aquatic challenge, boat or underwater only bases. Some of my favorite playthroughs were on a large speedboat.
There are 3 AArtifacts on the island that are REALLY hard ,an underwatet cave , the snow cave and the swamp cave.I would reccomend them only if have prepeared THOROUGHLY for them cause they are among the hardest in the game.ALSO for a big goal I would try to find and kill an Alpha Tusoteuthis(Giant Squid) or Alpha Mosasaur cause they give Imoroved fishing rods,which makes fishing give you better loot.
Gods balls I remember doing that snow cave. I pulled 20 artifacts out of there one at a time so I would never have to do it again. I think I raised a T rex egg in there and used it to solo the cave.
I would just like to say that i really enjoy you guys all exploring ark and finding out stuff on your own instead of just jumping from endpoint to endpoint. For ME at least i wouldn't mind this series taking however long it needed to be for you to keep enjoying it instead of feeling like it was a chore. It really shows in both your tone and the team dynamic if it actually IS enjoyable. One random thing i had as a plan myself for a group was getting wyverns/dragons and painting them all pirple/white and having it named "Squadron 44" and then taking that quadron to assault another teams base or taking em into a fight with a boss. Having members or patreon supporters vote or make challanges for you to complete can also be a thing. Or having whomever is the Wak type of person for Ark joining in for a co-op adventure. There really are thousands of possibilities and i enjoy watching anything you all are having fun with. Stay awesome Neebs gaming crew
Instead of grinding for resources and breeding tames, why not set a short list of challenges and when each one is met, Anthony brings you closer to fighting a boss. Like tame a giga, and now he spawns in a half dozen tame T-Rexes. Kill a squid, get ascendant rex saddle blueprint etc
I gotta say, these podcasts over the years it’s just nice to get to listen to a normal conversation among friends. Makes it feel like we’re sitting around a fire with you. ❤
as much as I understand the running the caves and getting the artifacts is really the biggest pain for you guys , growing an army all you need is high level rexes so y'all can easily do that , I wouldn't hold against you guys to put a mod in to make it easier it the artifacts but one of my biggest things was when y'all would explore a cave or trying to get the artifacts were always some of the greatest moments the group came together , so I would miss that part but I understand where they are coming from
high level rexes doesnt mean anything, high hp/melee stats is what you need but they have no idea how breeding works and it sounds like you have no idea how levels work.
I'm not. This is by far their most boring Ark series so far. I don't understand why ark is different, they were aimlessly wandering around for just a couple of episodes of Conan so they brought in Wak to give them direction. They should consider bringing in someone that actually knows how the game works That's just my opinion though

Side thing for maybe the Dumpster. Maybe you all could get together around the computer and take a look at a mod for Subnautica. It's called Return of the Ancients. That mod adds a couple very cool things that I think you guys would be in awe(& fear) of lol. Just a idea. Idk if anyone else would like that from yall as well.
You guys need to do the whole island. Learn the way. How long have you been playing ark? Imagine going to college for 8 year on a Doctorate degree in mathematics and then not knowing basic math in front of everyone... Play the game bro. Learn the ways. Do not cheat or get others to join to do it for you, you will not learn. After all these years, do you guys have 1 playthrough where you won? Without help or cheats? I don't remember once. My 3 hour Ark experience. Look around, tame a flyer. try to collect a drop mid air. Die. get another flier to get the first back. hit the wrong button, fall off and die. Get another flier, rescue both from the air. land for stam. get attacked. flyer flys away. other two flyers circle behind it into the air never to come back. I die. End of my Ark experience. What yall do for our entertainment is great and I thank you! but those who want you to do more. F em. Do what you want. it's a miracle you've done this much.
Don't have a goal, otherwise you're obligated to end the series afterward. Unless it's just a pearl on a string of pearls? What's fun is just showing up every afternoon at one of your houses saying, "what d'you want to do today? Wanna hang out?"
I can watch you guys play Ark all day long. The fact that we all know everyone hates Ark except for neebs really would make it interesting to see everyone go for the artifacts just to see you guys out of the comfort zone of base building and painting everything.
I would love any kind of large scale goal. Doesn't have to be a boss, that's just the most obvious. I'm sure there's mods with goals involved. Extinction has the Titan that's just always up during the day that's basically a boss you don't have to summon. Large scale goal would be nice, but I'm really enjoying the series regardless! Also, WHAT'S IN THE BOX!?
wow, thank u for addressing my comment in the beginning! I rewatched the series and yes, there's Stoopid tame around ep. 11, my bad. Now, about the Island: the thing with this map is it's a lil boring on the ground but amazing underground! You should definitely go into that caves, especially a huge underwater orange crystals cave, because caves on this map is the most interesting, beautiful and fascinating thing! It's very funny n enjoyable to watch you do that caves, so the more u do the better (sorry Appsro)! I'm not talking about the tek door cave in the volcano, Appsro already mentioned he's not going there ever, but I must say, that cave is absolutely crazy and like reveals the superboss u have never encountered and have to get to to really complete the map; thats absolutely amazing place because you can actually c how drops are sent down, ... no spoilers I hope. On the other hand, if you introduced strange mysterious structures on the map like that tek cube or threats on metal signs, you need to reveal something about it more I think, so that would go somewhere. Also.. I miss C-pap, oh well.. it was hilarious) Thank you for what you do!
The ark series has been my favorite back in the OG ark and now in ascended, I watch them all the time at work for a good laugh and to get through my days! Always makes me a little sad seeing the older ones with Thick and then hearing you guys make references in the new ones.

I'm really happy you guys are playing Island for ASA, your Ark series got me into the game in the first place and I've enjoyed the game ever since, with the Highs and the low lows. Looking back, Island was the only classic map you guys didn't really explore much, Center kind of as well but ASA center is hit or miss on whether it works. I'd say stick with Island until that new map Wildcard has for us comes out or until Lost Island comes out since that's another map you guys skipped in ASE. But top of my wishlist would be for you guys to tackle taming a Deinosuchus (The Giant Gator) it's my favorite tame in Ark since it was added to official and they're really strong and fun to ride
I enjoy all of the ark vids. As long as you guys enjoy playing it I’ll keep watching. And if you guys want to quit after years of ark, I understand. Also, gigas and a new large carnivore I don’t think you guys have ever tamed usually spawn in the mountains or in the volcano.
I'm always here for Neeb's gaming. The banter makes every episode fun. I definitely feel like this season of Ark is just random and has no focus. Basically the guys argue and play with mods for half an hour. If they want to actually play the game I would enjoy this series a lot more.
My wife lost her sense of smell last year. It hasn't come back so far. She has a breathing issues from CF, and chemical and smoke smells were really hard on her. Now she can't smell them, so her anxiety is way lower. She actually said she doesn't want her smell to come back.

I'm so glad it's fixed! I also thought it was just me with the paint issue 😭 I spent over an HOUR painting my Argi, it was so beautiful! When I logged in the next day the paint was gone, so I tried again thinking I didn't save properly...and it happened again the next time I logged in! Crushing. For the last couple months I've just been very picky, color wise, about taming, no matter how low the level was; if it was pretty I tamed it lol. Glad I don't have to play like that now and can paint away~ 🥰
Mods that can really help spice the game up, Arkology and Shiny dinos mods give many new dino varients. And visual storage mod can really liven up the base. I can easily see Appsro being a shiny dino hunter
I already couldn't wait for Phoenix but now I REALLY can't wait to see the stars?? Thank you guys(and community) for giving me a reason to see new places.

Don't worry about the longtime goal. The reason I watch your videos is I don't know what you guys are going next. It keeps me interested. If you do regular play throughs like everyone else you will eventually lose viewership. One of arks biggest UA-camrs gets half as many views as he used to get. It's not the right road to go. Don't fix what ain't broke.

The only reason I've fallen off was because I just became a father! Hard to believe I've loved you guys from my stupid young days to today. Still stupid but a lot more responsible. Hey Neebs, I wanted to share this with you. So back in 2018 I lost my sense of smell for an entire year. Do to my allergy meds and nero meds having a bad interaction with each other. Around a year I started to get small smells back. Anything burning (wood, plastic, etc)or even popcorn smelled like misquote wood burning. Nothing smelled or tasted like it was supposed too. Cooking meat of any kind smelled and tasted like bland pork, no matter the seasonings used. The only thing that was correct at the beginning was bleach, lime away cleaner, and gain laundry stuff and fabreeze (only gain). Real sweet food like chocolate, soda, juice, etc tasted putrid. No name for the taste. Slowly over the first 6 months I got basic foods back, and basic smells back. During 2019 I went through so many different tastes and smells to get things right. Finally during the summer 2019 it was like a switch and most everything was back to normal except sweet stuff. By fall 2019 I only had issues with some chocolate and some sodas. Come December 2019 I got Cv19 and they didn't know what it was yet. My taste issues came back for 3 days and I cried. By time they figured out what cv19 was I was at 98% smell and taste. It gave me that little extra push to resolve the small problems I had left. Now I only have very minor issues with some chocolate. It May take time but you can retrain your brain to taste and smell correctly again. I do hope you recover sooner then me. Good luck
You should definitely do bosses, all 3 can be done with just artifacts if remember correctly, it's very achievable with a single player so all 4 of you can do it, after the 3 bosses you can go to the cave in the volcano.
Yall could download the Primal Chaos mod. I think that's the one that has different tier creatures. Like Gamma, Beta, Alpha, Demonic, Angelic, Hydro, Volcanic and etc. You can tame them as well with certain things and the mod also has new gear you can make as well. There's some mods out there that can make the game harder/more fun.
So, you guys should definitely keep doing what you’re doing with the series and take your time to enjoy the game, but when you start to get tired and want to end the game here is a guide to the Island bosses: Broodmother: the first boss to face with the easiest caves. Giant spider that has spider minions that fires poison and web projectiles. Use Megatheriums (the giant sloths) as the bulk of your forces since they get a 600% damage and damage resistance buff when spiders are killed. Makes the broodmother light work. Megapithicus: Giant monkey with monkey minions (both the small monkeys and the Sasquatch looking guys). Has a rock projectile attack. Use Rexes for the bulk of your forces in this fight. Dragon: Fire breath projectile attacks, and has pteranodons and dimorphodons as minions (dimorphs will attack and kill you when you are siting on your saddles). The dragon debuffs carnivores so use Therizinos for the bulk of your forces (if you fill their inventory with veggie cakes they will heal themselves during the fight). The Overseer: you access the overseer boss fight in the weird Tek terminal in the giant volcano. You use boss trophies and alpha Dino parts to access it. It is the third hardest boss in the entire game and replicates all three of the previous bosses in each phase (one boss per phase), so you will need Gigas. Taking all of your Dino’s through the initial cave is a total pain so figure out how to disable cryo sickness on your server, cryo all of your dinos, and just use a Tek Jetpack to get to the teleport terminal at the end of the cave. Yutys and Daedons are a must have for support creatures. No flyers. If you don’t have enough Theris or Megatheriums you can still use Rexes since they are a good boss dino all around for any boss. You can also use a mammoth to buff your dinos along with the yuty. Make sure you are prepared for some of the caves. Gas mask, frog, and Megatherium for the swamp cave, mosasaur and basilosaurs for the underwater cave under the coastal swamp. Grappling hooks for the sky lord cave since if you fall you will not be able to recover any of your stuff. Good luck, and don’t rush it. We all love the series and the shenanigans that have happened and will happen
Guys, the the Gamma or lowest of the four bosses requires the following: Gamma Broodmother (Spider): 3 artifacts, Clever, Hunter, Massive Gamma Megapithecus (Ape): 3 artifacts, Brute, Devourer, Pack Gamma Dragon: 4 artifacts, Cunning, Immune, Skylord, Strong The overseer: 3 Trophies, Broodmother, Megapithecus, Dragon Each higher level of boss takes more stuff.
Set up a cluster guys. You can go to whichever map you like, have multiple bases on different maps and only engage with aspects of the map that you enjoy..
A new Greek themed map comes out in February and another new dlc map later in the year. Would be cool to see you guys play on those! ( they are paid maps unfortunately)

I've been watching since way back when you guys first started your journey 8+ years ago 🎉 and It's awesome to see you guys come full circle back to where it all began. And I would love to see you guys take down the 4 Island bosses if you choose to do so. which are the spider,monkey,dragon, and the overseer, even if it's only on easy you could outsource some of the boss prep to a outside community tribe in your server like when you guys where nomad's on crystal Isles or when you had some help fighting the titan's on extinction. Such awesome episodes 😮PS. I've been rewatching the series from the beginning, loving it and there was a cave neebs spotted from the coast that you guys checked out. You said you would come back later. it's only taken 8+ years to come back 😂 but I'd would love to see you guys conquer that cave and island 🏝
Ideas: Make a big maze out of clear glass- gotta get through it before you dehydrate and die :D Make a tranq dart capture the flag course Jousting competition on pachys Race on specific dino Race through swamp naked Dodo battle- each breed own super dodo and make them fight each other Haunted house Side scrolling super Mario course with pilars Pictionary on wall.
Neebs / Dora make sure you do research on the caves, most are relatively easy on the island, only ones that i find tedious is the 2 polar biome caves and the swamp cave the rest are fairy simple (craft lesser antidote for bat and leech disease) , i would recommend baryonyx or thyla for any cave besides the 2 polar caves because 1 you cant ride in, the other i recommend allosaurus, as for the sea caves basilosaurus is the best creature good damage and health but most importantly they are immune to the damn jellyfish stings, also breeding and imprinting your caving dinos is a good idea, you don't have to do mutation breeding for cave dinos but starting with lvl 100+ before tamed parents is a good idea, if you mess around with the settings you could get the breeding done in a days worth of gaming. good luck caving hope its more fun then frustrating, p.s. you guys never fought the overseer would make for a great finally just saying.
I just forked out $45 for ASA. The comments are horrible for it. A crap ton of issues still that Snail hasn't bothered to fix. But what the hell... you guys make it look fun. Wish folks that had bought the original would get a discount for it but nope. Ah well. It's only money.
There's a lot of the island map you guys haven't experienced. I'd personally like to see you guys give it a fair shake and attempt the overseer boss in the volcano and tame a bunch of the stuff you guys haven't tamed. Including the newer creatures and stuff.
3 bosses, you collect their trophies to defeat the actual boss of ark, it’s in the volcano and you have to hurry and get to a point, when you do you’ll be teleported, “above” the ark, in its actual system itself, then the fun really begins
Still begging for an Abiotic Factor playthrough. It's getting a big update on the 4th of Feb. and it's already a HUGE game that would fit you guys PERFECTLY.
There are a lot of amazing mods that you could add to make it more interesting. The Acro boss would be interesting to see you guys tackle... its one of the strongest bosses available outside of the ridiculous mods.
Small goals that will help you with the big goals: tame high level dinos only 135+ Then mate and imprint them. The dinos are much stronger and they won't die easy. Then the boss fights will go well. Good luck fellas!
I decided to go back and watch the series from the start and now currently mid-Valguero, so the paint malfunctions give me something to look forward to. I kinda dread the first episode after Thick left us (RIP)
I think just screwing around in the game is great for a series, I mean it is a survival game there's no need to rush for major objectives. It's like a reality TV show that has a big climax at the end of the season, and certain episodes have big plot points like you guys dedicating an episode or 2 to the artifacts.
I also once lost my taste and smell for 4 weeks until I finally started looking on the Internet for a way to restore it and i found it, within two days my sense of smell and taste returned. At first I was skeptical about the method but I told myself that I had nothing to loset,so I tried it and it worked, I couldn't believe that it worked, it was a self-treatment method, you have to place one hand on your heart and point the index finger of the other hand between your eyes and nose and someone else, the other person has to flick you on the back of the head with their finger, it supposedly resets the olfactory nerves like resetting a computer, I did it 3 times and within an hour I started to smell the first smells but they suddenly disappeared and only the next day everything came back, I couldn't believe it, try it you have nothing to lose.
Your artifact hunting was some of the best and funniest shit in the ark series over the years! Definitely get back to doing that even if you don't fight the boss because the journey is Definitely worth it. Anyways love yall! O and NEEBS you have to join the gang over at the Meaty Starfish.
Honestly? Watching you guys do a full aberration run has been on my wishlist for a long time, but that is extremely unlikely, so maybe trying to conquer Island entirely would be the next best thing? The tek cave quetz cheese would be hilarious, but I would love to see you guys coordinate the Overseer fight
When I got Covid for the 3rd time i lost smell for like 2 months but I was colorblind to yellow colors yet 32 years old and JUST saw what yellow is like.
It's funny you guys says the artifacts on the island can't be that ridiculous... The thing about the island is there are FOUR bosses, for some reason the blue obelisk gorilla is much easier to fight than the green spider one, a couple of the caves are nearly unplayable due to spawn bugs that lag the game into oblivion, and after youve done the three main ones, you have to fight the final one inside the volcano cave. The island is probably the single most tedious map in the game despite being the original.
You guys fighting the overseer would be awesome. It takes fighting all the other bosses first tho, you need their heads. But if you do gamma it’s not bad at all
The island is probably among the maps with the MOST to do for bosses. Since it has 3 bosses, one of which is harder and has a harder prep as well. Plus the Overseer which is even harder and required to ascend off the island.
I only got curtains in my bedroom recently cause my bf was like “hey im uncomfy with you changing in here without curtains” and im thinking but nobody’s looking, im not super close to others houses. Its suburbia. But Simon’s story may have changed my mind, thank you
Would love to see the team go on adventures to other maps, but use the terminal to transfer gear and dinos. Go explore new ASA maps that have came out, tame some dinos or whatever and then back to the island.
I think getting the artifacts should be a semi-integral part to prepping for the boss. At the same time, I think the actual boss fights are kinda awful with the system currently implemented. It could be quite fun to require to get the artifacts and then build your own arena somewhere on the map to spawn the boss into when you're ready. That way you can prepare with your own defenses and creatures without having to jump through the arbitrary boss arena hoops. Kinda like a 7D2D horde base but in ark. You have to build your own arena base to fight the boss in.
Each boss has 3 artifacts, the final boss needs you to have beaten all the other bosses. They also need some trophy drops from alphas and other things, like rex arms, sarco skin, etc.
For real, Simon we used to hop a fence at a beer distro along the railroad tracks and steal cases off the unlocked dock. We mostly sold them to the preppy kids, lol... bought a lot of model rockets and comic books.

Gods balls I remember doing that snow cave. I pulled 20 artifacts out of there one at a time so I would never have to do it again. I think I raised a T rex egg in there and used it to solo the cave.

I would just like to say that i really enjoy you guys all exploring ark and finding out stuff on your own instead of just jumping from endpoint to endpoint.
For ME at least i wouldn't mind this series taking however long it needed to be for you to keep enjoying it instead of feeling like it was a chore.
It really shows in both your tone and the team dynamic if it actually IS enjoyable.
One random thing i had as a plan myself for a group was getting wyverns/dragons and painting them all pirple/white and having it named "Squadron 44"
and then taking that quadron to assault another teams base or taking em into a fight with a boss.
Having members or patreon supporters vote or make challanges for you to complete can also be a thing. Or having whomever is the Wak type of person for Ark joining in for a co-op adventure.
There really are thousands of possibilities and i enjoy watching anything you all are having fun with.

The smaller role playing moments and attachments to animals is 10x more entertaining than the boss battles imo. Just have fun fellas
Instead of grinding for resources and breeding tames, why not set a short list of challenges and when each one is met, Anthony brings you closer to fighting a boss. Like tame a giga, and now he spawns in a half dozen tame T-Rexes. Kill a squid, get ascendant rex saddle blueprint etc

Great idea, set him up as a god or something and he can set a trial then reward them if they make it or smite them if they don't.
Like others have said, bringing a third party into your Ark series would work, just like it did when you brought Wak into your Conan series.

as much as I understand the running the caves and getting the artifacts is really the biggest pain for you guys , growing an army all you need is high level rexes so y'all can easily do that , I wouldn't hold against you guys to put a mod in to make it easier it the artifacts but one of my biggest things was when y'all would explore a cave or trying to get the artifacts were always some of the greatest moments the group came together , so I would miss that part but I understand where they are coming from
high level rexes doesnt mean anything, high hp/melee stats is what you need but they have no idea how breeding works and it sounds like you have no idea how levels work.

I'm not. This is by far their most boring Ark series so far. I don't understand why ark is different, they were aimlessly wandering around for just a couple of episodes of Conan so they brought in Wak to give them direction. They should consider bringing in someone that actually knows how the game works

Imagine going to college for 8 year on a Doctorate degree in mathematics and then not knowing basic math in front of everyone... Play the game bro. Learn the ways. Do not cheat or get others to join to do it for you, you will not learn. After all these years, do you guys have 1 playthrough where you won? Without help or cheats? I don't remember once.

My 3 hour Ark experience. Look around, tame a flyer. try to collect a drop mid air. Die. get another flier to get the first back. hit the wrong button, fall off and die. Get another flier, rescue both from the air. land for stam. get attacked. flyer flys away. other two flyers circle behind it into the air never to come back. I die. End of my Ark experience. What yall do for our entertainment is great and I thank you! but those who want you to do more. F em. Do what you want. it's a miracle you've done this much.
I think you guys would love the overseer, just to see the approach and the arena and to navigate the cave leading to it.

I would love any kind of large scale goal. Doesn't have to be a boss, that's just the most obvious. I'm sure there's mods with goals involved. Extinction has the Titan that's just always up during the day that's basically a boss you don't have to summon.

wow, thank u for addressing my comment in the beginning! I rewatched the series and yes, there's Stoopid tame around ep. 11, my bad. Now, about the Island: the thing with this map is it's a lil boring on the ground but amazing underground! You should definitely go into that caves, especially a huge underwater orange crystals cave, because caves on this map is the most interesting, beautiful and fascinating thing! It's very funny n enjoyable to watch you do that caves, so the more u do the better (sorry Appsro)! I'm not talking about the tek door cave in the volcano, Appsro already mentioned he's not going there ever, but I must say, that cave is absolutely crazy and like reveals the superboss u have never encountered and have to get to to really complete the map; thats absolutely amazing place because you can actually c how drops are sent down, ... no spoilers I hope. On the other hand, if you introduced strange mysterious structures on the map like that tek cube or threats on metal signs, you need to reveal something about it more I think, so that would go somewhere. Also.. I miss C-pap, oh well.. it was hilarious) Thank you for what you do!
The ark series has been my favorite back in the OG ark and now in ascended, I watch them all the time at work for a good laugh and to get through my days! Always makes me a little sad seeing the older ones with Thick and then hearing you guys make references in the new ones.

I'm really happy you guys are playing Island for ASA, your Ark series got me into the game in the first place and I've enjoyed the game ever since, with the Highs and the low lows. Looking back, Island was the only classic map you guys didn't really explore much, Center kind of as well but ASA center is hit or miss on whether it works. I'd say stick with Island until that new map Wildcard has for us comes out or until Lost Island comes out since that's another map you guys skipped in ASE. But top of my wishlist would be for you guys to tackle taming a Deinosuchus (The Giant Gator) it's my favorite tame in Ark since it was added to official and they're really strong and fun to ride

I'm always here for Neeb's gaming. The banter makes every episode fun. I definitely feel like this season of Ark is just random and has no focus. Basically the guys argue and play with mods for half an hour. If they want to actually play the game I would enjoy this series a lot more.
My wife lost her sense of smell last year. It hasn't come back so far. She has a breathing issues from CF, and chemical and smoke smells were really hard on her. Now she can't smell them, so her anxiety is way lower. She actually said she doesn't want her smell to come back.

I'm so glad it's fixed! I also thought it was just me with the paint issue 😭 I spent over an HOUR painting my Argi, it was so beautiful! When I logged in the next day the paint was gone, so I tried again thinking I didn't save properly...and it happened again the next time I logged in! Crushing. For the last couple months I've just been very picky, color wise, about taming, no matter how low the level was; if it was pretty I tamed it lol. Glad I don't have to play like that now and can paint away~ 🥰
Mods that can really help spice the game up, Arkology and Shiny dinos mods give many new dino varients. And visual storage mod can really liven up the base. I can easily see Appsro being a shiny dino hunter

Don't worry about the longtime goal. The reason I watch your videos is I don't know what you guys are going next. It keeps me interested. If you do regular play throughs like everyone else you will eventually lose viewership. One of arks biggest UA-camrs gets half as many views as he used to get. It's not the right road to go. Don't fix what ain't broke.
I'd love to see them actually fight the Overseer and beat the game, but yeah, most of the episodes should just be their usual goofing off.
No matter what “goals” you guys have in Ark or even if there are none, we will watch.

I wanted to share this with you. So back in 2018 I lost my sense of smell for an entire year. Do to my allergy meds and nero meds having a bad interaction with each other.
Around a year I started to get small smells back. Anything burning (wood, plastic, etc)or even popcorn smelled like misquote wood burning. Nothing smelled or tasted like it was supposed too.
Cooking meat of any kind smelled and tasted like bland pork, no matter the seasonings used. The only thing that was correct at the beginning was bleach, lime away cleaner, and gain laundry stuff and fabreeze (only gain). Real sweet food like chocolate, soda, juice, etc tasted putrid. No name for the taste.
Slowly over the first 6 months I got basic foods back, and basic smells back. During 2019 I went through so many different tastes and smells to get things right. Finally during the summer 2019 it was like a switch and most everything was back to normal except sweet stuff. By fall 2019 I only had issues with some chocolate and some sodas.
Come December 2019 I got Cv19 and they didn't know what it was yet. My taste issues came back for 3 days and I cried. By time they figured out what cv19 was I was at 98% smell and taste. It gave me that little extra push to resolve the small problems I had left.
Now I only have very minor issues with some chocolate.
It May take time but you can retrain your brain to taste and smell correctly again. I do hope you recover sooner then me. Good luck

You should definitely do bosses, all 3 can be done with just artifacts if remember correctly, it's very achievable with a single player so all 4 of you can do it, after the 3 bosses you can go to the cave in the volcano.
You guys for sure need to have the long term goal of “playing the story” and trying to actually “ascend” off of each ark in canonical order.
Yall could download the Primal Chaos mod. I think that's the one that has different tier creatures. Like Gamma, Beta, Alpha, Demonic, Angelic, Hydro, Volcanic and etc. You can tame them as well with certain things and the mod also has new gear you can make as well. There's some mods out there that can make the game harder/more fun.
The creator has a better one now called primal nemesis its not free though

So, you guys should definitely keep doing what you’re doing with the series and take your time to enjoy the game, but when you start to get tired and want to end the game here is a guide to the Island bosses:
Broodmother: the first boss to face with the easiest caves. Giant spider that has spider minions that fires poison and web projectiles. Use Megatheriums (the giant sloths) as the bulk of your forces since they get a 600% damage and damage resistance buff when spiders are killed. Makes the broodmother light work.
Megapithicus: Giant monkey with monkey minions (both the small monkeys and the Sasquatch looking guys). Has a rock projectile attack. Use Rexes for the bulk of your forces in this fight.
Dragon: Fire breath projectile attacks, and has pteranodons and dimorphodons as minions (dimorphs will attack and kill you when you are siting on your saddles). The dragon debuffs carnivores so use Therizinos for the bulk of your forces (if you fill their inventory with veggie cakes they will heal themselves during the fight).
The Overseer: you access the overseer boss fight in the weird Tek terminal in the giant volcano. You use boss trophies and alpha Dino parts to access it. It is the third hardest boss in the entire game and replicates all three of the previous bosses in each phase (one boss per phase), so you will need Gigas. Taking all of your Dino’s through the initial cave is a total pain so figure out how to disable cryo sickness on your server, cryo all of your dinos, and just use a Tek Jetpack to get to the teleport terminal at the end of the cave.
Yutys and Daedons are a must have for support creatures. No flyers. If you don’t have enough Theris or Megatheriums you can still use Rexes since they are a good boss dino all around for any boss. You can also use a mammoth to buff your dinos along with the yuty.
Make sure you are prepared for some of the caves. Gas mask, frog, and Megatherium for the swamp cave, mosasaur and basilosaurs for the underwater cave under the coastal swamp. Grappling hooks for the sky lord cave since if you fall you will not be able to recover any of your stuff.
Good luck, and don’t rush it. We all love the series and the shenanigans that have happened and will happen

Guys, the the Gamma or lowest of the four bosses requires the following:
Gamma Broodmother (Spider): 3 artifacts, Clever, Hunter, Massive
Gamma Megapithecus (Ape): 3 artifacts, Brute, Devourer, Pack
Gamma Dragon: 4 artifacts, Cunning, Immune, Skylord, Strong
The overseer: 3 Trophies, Broodmother, Megapithecus, Dragon
Each higher level of boss takes more stuff.
Set up a cluster guys. You can go to whichever map you like, have multiple bases on different maps and only engage with aspects of the map that you enjoy..
A new Greek themed map comes out in February and another new dlc map later in the year. Would be cool to see you guys play on those! ( they are paid maps unfortunately)
A base deep under the water for the navy sounds awesome.
Hey there, neebs gang, I been loving the Ark series. I've been watching since way back when you guys first started your journey 8+ years ago 🎉 and It's awesome to see you guys come full circle back to where it all began. And I would love to see you guys take down the 4 Island bosses if you choose to do so. which are the spider,monkey,dragon, and the overseer, even if it's only on easy you could outsource some of the boss prep to a outside community tribe in your server like when you guys where nomad's on crystal Isles or when you had some help fighting the titan's on extinction. Such awesome episodes 😮PS. I've been rewatching the series from the beginning, loving it and there was a cave neebs spotted from the coast that you guys checked out.
You said you would come back later. it's only taken 8+ years to come back 😂 but I'd would love to see you guys conquer that cave and island 🏝

Make a big maze out of clear glass- gotta get through it before you dehydrate and die :D
Make a tranq dart capture the flag course
Jousting competition on pachys
Race on specific dino
Race through swamp naked
Dodo battle- each breed own super dodo and make them fight each other
Haunted house
Side scrolling super Mario course with pilars
Pictionary on wall.
Neebs / Dora make sure you do research on the caves, most are relatively easy on the island, only ones that i find tedious is the 2 polar biome caves and the swamp cave the rest are fairy simple (craft lesser antidote for bat and leech disease) ,
i would recommend baryonyx or thyla for any cave besides the 2 polar caves because 1 you cant ride in, the other i recommend allosaurus, as for the sea caves basilosaurus is the best creature good damage and health but most importantly they are immune to the damn jellyfish stings,
also breeding and imprinting your caving dinos is a good idea, you don't have to do mutation breeding for cave dinos but starting with lvl 100+ before tamed parents is a good idea,
if you mess around with the settings you could get the breeding done in a days worth of gaming.

I just forked out $45 for ASA. The comments are horrible for it. A crap ton of issues still that Snail hasn't bothered to fix. But what the hell... you guys make it look fun. Wish folks that had bought the original would get a discount for it but nope. Ah well. It's only money.
There's a lot of the island map you guys haven't experienced. I'd personally like to see you guys give it a fair shake and attempt the overseer boss in the volcano and tame a bunch of the stuff you guys haven't tamed. Including the newer creatures and stuff.

3 bosses, you collect their trophies to defeat the actual boss of ark, it’s in the volcano and you have to hurry and get to a point, when you do you’ll be teleported, “above” the ark, in its actual system itself, then the fun really begins
Still begging for an Abiotic Factor playthrough. It's getting a big update on the 4th of Feb. and it's already a HUGE game that would fit you guys PERFECTLY.
There are a lot of amazing mods that you could add to make it more interesting. The Acro boss would be interesting to see you guys tackle... its one of the strongest bosses available outside of the ridiculous mods.
Small goals that will help you with the big goals: tame high level dinos only 135+ Then mate and imprint them. The dinos are much stronger and they won't die easy. Then the boss fights will go well. Good luck fellas!
I decided to go back and watch the series from the start and now currently mid-Valguero, so the paint malfunctions give me something to look forward to. I kinda dread the first episode after Thick left us (RIP)

I think just screwing around in the game is great for a series, I mean it is a survival game there's no need to rush for major objectives. It's like a reality TV show that has a big climax at the end of the season, and certain episodes have big plot points like you guys dedicating an episode or 2 to the artifacts.
I also once lost my taste and smell for 4 weeks until I finally started looking on the Internet for a way to restore it and i found it, within two days my sense of smell and taste returned. At first I was skeptical about the method but I told myself that I had nothing to loset,so I tried it and it worked, I couldn't believe that it worked, it was a self-treatment method, you have to place one hand on your heart and point the index finger of the other hand between your eyes and nose and someone else, the other person has to flick you on the back of the head with their finger, it supposedly resets the olfactory nerves like resetting a computer, I did it 3 times and within an hour I started to smell the first smells but they suddenly disappeared and only the next day everything came back, I couldn't believe it, try it you have nothing to lose.

Honestly? Watching you guys do a full aberration run has been on my wishlist for a long time, but that is extremely unlikely, so maybe trying to conquer Island entirely would be the next best thing? The tek cave quetz cheese would be hilarious, but I would love to see you guys coordinate the Overseer fight
When I got Covid for the 3rd time i lost smell for like 2 months but I was colorblind to yellow colors yet 32 years old and JUST saw what yellow is like.

It's funny you guys says the artifacts on the island can't be that ridiculous... The thing about the island is there are FOUR bosses, for some reason the blue obelisk gorilla is much easier to fight than the green spider one, a couple of the caves are nearly unplayable due to spawn bugs that lag the game into oblivion, and after youve done the three main ones, you have to fight the final one inside the volcano cave. The island is probably the single most tedious map in the game despite being the original.
You guys fighting the overseer would be awesome. It takes fighting all the other bosses first tho, you need their heads. But if you do gamma it’s not bad at all
There is also Tek cave boss. Located at the bottom of the volcano
Neebs after Covid it took 8 months for my taste and smell to come back.
The island is probably among the maps with the MOST to do for bosses. Since it has 3 bosses, one of which is harder and has a harder prep as well. Plus the Overseer which is even harder and required to ascend off the island.

Would love to see the team go on adventures to other maps, but use the terminal to transfer gear and dinos. Go explore new ASA maps that have came out, tame some dinos or whatever and then back to the island.

I think getting the artifacts should be a semi-integral part to prepping for the boss. At the same time, I think the actual boss fights are kinda awful with the system currently implemented. It could be quite fun to require to get the artifacts and then build your own arena somewhere on the map to spawn the boss into when you're ready. That way you can prepare with your own defenses and creatures without having to jump through the arbitrary boss arena hoops. Kinda like a 7D2D horde base but in ark. You have to build your own arena base to fight the boss in.

Each boss has 3 artifacts, the final boss needs you to have beaten all the other bosses. They also need some trophy drops from alphas and other things, like rex arms, sarco skin, etc.
For real, Simon we used to hop a fence at a beer distro along the railroad tracks and steal cases off the unlocked dock. We mostly sold them to the preppy kids, lol... bought a lot of model rockets and comic books.
