I remember seeing a stag and when opened boot very strong smell of petrol. Sales man said its normal. I didn't think so.

Hi TR Tony, could you at some stage review all the modifications you have made to your Stags, particularly of course to the engine - cooling (e.g. header tank), timing chains etc. I really don't like people putting Rover V8's or Ford V6's into Stags, it ruins the car and I think that the Triumph V8 can be made to work well..

Hiya - certainly we can build it in. Likewise, I agree that the V8 Stag engine is perfectly good and no need (as was the trend in the 80's) to swap out for a 3500 Rover. A couple of videos ago you'd have seen the warning that went with this too (my review of an old Classics Mag) in that if people put a V8 3.5 Rover in.. it lightens the front end and unless you adjust the suspension too to accommodate the lighter load, can cause all sorts of dangerous performance issues for the car! Best wishes Tony

@@ArryTheStag Yep, I saw that. I'm assuming that if I had no option but to buy one of those converted Stags (V6 or Rover V8), it would be a hell of a task to find a reconditioned original Triumph V8 for it? Maybe look into that for us too 🙂

@@1258-Eckhart Hiya - shouldn't be too much of an issue.. I know several people who recondition engine units and do have spare engines for a price. Fact is though they are a lot more available than you might think! All the best Tony
