Bingo! I have an Ohio Bar, Ohio Power Bar and Texas Deadlift Bar. The squat bar is my last bar to get. I like it for spreading the weight over a larger area due to the larger diameter. One other benefit of a squat bar that was not mentioned is the extra length is great for people that tend to bang their uprights on walkouts. The extra length puts the collars farther from the uprights. I bench outside the rack and squat inside the rack. A squat bar is one that can stay in the rack, which will mean I no longer need to move my power bar in and out of the rack all the time.
1) what do these bars weigh? Is it standardized ? (I can't weigh the bars at my gym) 2) powerlifting regulations talk about max 81 cm between forefingers. Is that marked on the bar? 🙏 Thanks
1. 20kg or 45 lb, squat bar is 55 lb. Most general bars will weigh 45 lbs, so your gym's are likely 45 lb. 2. I wouldn't stress that as it likely won't be an issue for ya! Have never once had a concern with this for myself when competing and with clients.
What kind of barbell should I buy for a land mine I already have a 20 kg fringe sports hybrid barbell but I’m not sure if I should use it on a land mine I don’t want to damage it
You should be fine with that! Generalist bars are usually want you want to use for those attachments because higher-end specific ones are the ones you'll want to keep for their designated activities!
Question: when I watch the weightliftinger's training video's and competitions they use the bar with center knurling,so power bar i assume, Why not the weightlifting bar?
Prob your generalist bar, shouldn’t be a massive issue durability wise if you’re dropping with weight. They get effed when lifters drop with without weight or super light plates like 10s
I feel like I learned a lot from this video, and I was literally in the video.
I think I blacked out while filming this, too 😂
The content we need.
Massenomics ftw!
Make UA-cam collabs great again!
I unfortunately learned this the hard way. Doing a clean complex with a power bar is not fun. Massive bruise in my neck 😂
Beeeeeeen there, too, dude
Always nice to see Big Tanner and Barbells
Big T 🤝 bells

Thanks guys.
Interesting and informative.
Thanks for checking out!

Great point and addition! 🤝
Good call!
Great video! Personally, I'd rather have a center knurl on my WL bars (think AB SS Comp or Rogue Pyrros) but it's not a deal breaker if it doesn't
Thank you!
A smooth knurl is nice sometimes for sure! Helps with high-bar. Should do a deep dive into a bunch of one type of barbell soon
Jake and Massenomics, nice.
I am the Robin to their Batman 😂
VERY NICE, GREAT SUCCESS!
Thank you for making this video. For this entire time i have been using different bars. Well now i know 😅
Haha, that's why it's here! Glad it helped!
Tanner really knows his way a knurly beat up shaft
LOL, is that why we had to rub all of the bars in the gym!?
@@thatfitfriend no shafts left behind
But which bar do I curl in the squat rack with?
Deadlift bar usually works best for that 🫡
Big Zach, you know better than that!
Rackable ez curl bar 🤣
Awesome!

Great video and breakdown. Whats the weight of each bar? It looks like some are heavier than others.
Weightlifting = Either 20kg/45lb
Power = Either 20kg/45lb
Deadlift Bar = 45 lbs
Squat Bar = 55 lbs
Nice!!!
What kind of barbell should i buy for squat + dead lift + shoulder + chest
6ft or 7ft?
My height is 5"6
Just buy a normal bar, no need to grab a shorty!
Surprised ole Tanner hasn’t bought a kabuki deadlift bar yet
We could probably peer pressure him into that
Keith you stop that, you keep making me buy more bars
What kind of bar is good for bench press and how much do they generally weigh ?
General bars work fine and power bars! 45 lbs, typically or 20kg/44 lb
Is there any shorter bar for biceps curls (apart from the ez bar)?
Yeah! Rogue makes the shortie that they use for CrossFit comps! I own it and it’s solid
What’s the reasoning behind not banging a power bar on a rack? Is deadlifting ok?
Can bend and warp the bar!
Deadlifting tends to be fine when there are plates on the bar.
So would the squat bar be the most compatible for all 3 lifts, or would it not be great.
Power bar!

Question: when I watch the weightliftinger's training video's and competitions they use the bar with center knurling,so power bar i assume,
Why not the weightlifting bar?
It’s a different type of knurl! They have center knurl but the weightlifting bar’s is smooth so it doesn’t scratch up your neck in cleans/front squats
Lotta guys drop the bar doing various things, which bar is best for that
Prob your generalist bar, shouldn’t be a massive issue durability wise if you’re dropping with weight. They get effed when lifters drop with without weight or super light plates like 10s
Do they all weigh 20kg?
Not all - some weigh 45 and others 20kg. Some, if not all squat bars are also heavier at 55 lbs
Do they all weight the same?
They do not - squat bars are typically 55 lbs, deadlift/power/weightlifting are usually 20kg/45 lbs depending on the brand and make
@@thatfitfriendso are you telling me there’s a chance my pr is 10 pounds heavier than I assumed? 👩🦲
@@trevortaylor9536Possibly, depends on the bar you used!
