I found Oxenfree sometime in 2021, played it all the way through, and it's now one of my favourite games. It's ridiculously underrated, and I can't wait for Lost Signals Edit: July 12th for Lost Signals y'all!!!!
I've been watching many of your videos but the ending of this one legit freaked me out for a minute, very nice work! I also really appreciated you playing the soundtrack to both the game play and by itself because it really gave a full idea of what the music was adding to the game. Can't wait to see more from you!
@@sirsurgenor Certainly. The reason I mention it in particular is that it seemed to really be one of the first indie titles to introduce the idea of less conventional and more obscure techniques of storytelling that we see all the time in indies today. I'd also argue it helped to start the trend of pixel art or otherwise cute visuals being used to mask a scene of violence and depravity, a particular trademark of Devolver titles.
I first thought played Oxenfree when it was on game pass in 2020 after the play through it became one of my favourites if not my favourite game of all time
I actually have played Oxenfree..... many many times lol. Absolutely one of my all time favorite games, second only to Sh2. Tried getting the platinum on ps4 for it but got stuck trying to make everyone mad at me. This game gives me that cozy mysterious fear feeling I love and I hope Oxenfree II is more of the same. Great video btw! Got a sub from me!
I love this game I played it on switch and it was just such a unique experience. that one time I was babysitting my cousins and we played through this and I let them make the choices and we had a absolute blast!
I mean… I’ve been listening to the soundtrack pretty regularly since I first played it, so… (But in all seriousness this game is incredible and your video is great.)
True but it didn’t quite spark the inside revival quite the way shovel knight did. It was never compared in quality to a AAA game, where as shovel knight was.

I remember watching Jacksepticeye play Oxenfree! I loved it!
He was one of the only big gaming channels I can recall who actually played it.
Nice video, probably gonna get Oxenfree now.
I'm glad you liked it! hope you enjoy the game as much as I did.

Thank you so so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed. This was one of my favourite videos to make, so I appreciate YOU appreciating the work I put in :)
Just found your channel yesterday, and I already look forward to more videos! Keep up the good work!
I certainly will. And I appreciate the kind words :)
Just played it this year and damn the game was soo good. It fit my style of the environment too 😅🎮
It was reviewed on IGN bro so most people know about it...
i dont know a single person who actually pays attention to IGN anymore, not in the last 8 years
In regards to indie games from before 2014, I believe Hotline Miami was 2012, although the sequel was 2015.
Hotline Miami is a FANTASTIC game

Thank you :)
Slender was technically an indie game, and it was a 2012 phenomena

The penumbra trilogy which then lead into amnesia
Cool❤🤔
Glad you liked it
Great ending to a great video! :)
Thank you :)
